Give me greentext stories about game sessions.
Go.
The name of the game is ChromeStrike.
>it's been a couple sessions so I decide to start offering multiple mission choices to my players
>this time they get three choices
>the first is recon on a Russian forward base
>all they have to do is go look at the outpost for a bit then come back and report
>pay sucks but there's a commission bonus for blowing crap up
>the second is to help...

It sounds like you crafted all three missions to be the same situation from different points of view.
>>46635251
Does it? It might be because I left faction names out of the post.
Well, I certainly didn't intend for it to come across like that.
So what do you think about the new Anniversary Marine's rules? I think its pretty nice since only SM can get it (other chapters didnt exist back then) and its free, its not like its weapons are any good or anything.
>>46633013
>For no additional cost
>Give one Tactical Marine in the army a St5 AP2 Instant Death rapid fire gun
Totally balance.
>>46633013
Well its free, it doesn't matter if its weapons are any good or not.
Its literally a free S5 AP2 gun.
>>46633013
is there the full page of the datasheet somewhere?
is that all?
Heya /tg/, I was wondering what input you would have regarding games that have a heavy focus on certain cultural lores. Of particular interest to me is Gaelic/Celtic lore, though other games with high cultural focus might also be appealing.
I'm also a bit of a weeb but I'm not going to bother asking about Japanese or other Asian lore focused games, those are everywhere.
Mechanics aren't as much of a matter to me at the moment, I'm looking for games where the base expectation is so heavily steeped in cultural lores that you almost can't...

I wish I had an example of a game to give you, this is something I'd like to see more of myself.
Also, you have exquisite taste in animated films, the Secret of Kells was spectacular.
>>46633837
It was. Have you seen Song of the Sea? Similar vibe, both were written, directed, and produced by Tomm More.
>>46634492
I've not had a chance to see it. That's the one about Selkies, right?
Other than turning this guy evil for the lulz, what's the shittiest thing that Liliana Vess has ever done?
>>46619522
One time she was my barista at Starbucks and she put soy in my mocha instead of milk.
I mean the whole selling jace out to bolas thing was shitty
also she is systematically killing off some of the multiverse's most upstanding business men just because she doesn't want to pay her debt

If she can't exile a bitch how is she supposed to beat Ormendahl. He's so cool, I don't want him to die

No. Too many tabletop games care about rolls for pass/fail above or below certain value, which might not actually be the halfway point OR be for adding up lots of numbers, and those two being true are the only way it stays normal. There are also just a lot of special things in many systems that suddenly DO care about specific rolls, like nat. 1 and nat. 20 or specific effects that trigger upon rolling minimum and maximum on damage dice.

The thing is, even if the shape is evenly balanced, there is no way for human perception to even approximate a verification for this. They are probably no easier to weigh than normal d6s, but they don't exude that reassuring symmetry.
games are a social contract
if you use casino grade dice at your warhammer tournament people will assume you are cheating, even though it is very hard to cheat with those dice and they roll more fairly.
if you use horrible opaque chessex on the other hand, you can cook your dice very easily and get away with it. Even if you don't try to cheat at all, the dice are often made very poorly and aren't fully random.
I personally like wooden dice. I don't know if they are more fair or anything, and truth be told I don't care all that much. They...

What affect would a mountain have on a world if it was tall enough to breach the stratosphere?
>>46638573
It's poke a hole in the sky and all the air would get out, duh.
as the world spins around it would scrape across the sky, tearing it open and causing all the oxygen to leak out

Where do silly fantasy outfits come from in your setting?
Tailors and armour smiths.
>>46635566
It's all high fashion produced for noble ladies with way too much money for their own good.
Tailors and armorsmiths, I guess.
If you made a game, and you know its pretty good but you would never have the means to publish it, would you share it with /tg/ so people might actually have the chance to enjoy it, knowing that people are way less likely to play unestablished games? Is the risk of someone taking your idea and putting it to better use than you can offset by the reward of people actually possibly enjoying something you made?
pic unrelated obviously
Put it up on DrivethruRPG or some other distribution site. Just because you can't print physical copies doesn't mean you can't make some cash off it.
>>46632951
I already did. Surprisingly, if you do good work people will offer you money for it.
Publishing is irrelevant in the digital era for gaming materials. Just getting them to people who want them is far more important.

What game?
Explain to me how the Blanks and Pariahs work to me. Does psykers can still use their abilities around them if they are strong, or blank nullifies them completely? Does that require any effort from blank? Does blank abilities nullify force weapons and Chaos artifacts? Can blanks close Warp gates and travel in Warp without Gellar fields? Can they block spaceship attempts to move into Warp?
Depends on the Blank. Some are stronger than others. But none are so strong they can mess with a warpship.
>>46632512
>None are so strong that survived to adulthood
FTFY.
Pariah's range from being shunned, to hated, to causing psychotic violent outbursts among any around them, depending on how strong they are. Perhaps there was a blank that was as strong as the Emperor but reversed, but it's own mother probably strangled it moments after it was born.
>>46632488
They are full uncanny valley tier. Just imagine a guy that has no face. Everything else about that person is as normal as can be. Looking from behind that person looks like a normal bloke doing normal stuff. Then it turns to face you and you see that It has no mouth, eyes or nose. Just a blank slate of skin.
That is what a blank is.
OK I know some supplement has probably answered this but
What happens if a Chromatic Dragon has sex with a Metallic Dragon? What is born from that? Or from dragons of different colors fucking each other? Is there a chart or a rule as to which one is born or it is just a 50% one or the other thing?
>>46629302
Gemstone dragons.
I don't know of any 'canon' answer, but I just assume that both colours are passed down, with each child having a chance to be one or the other.
In the backstory of one of my characters, they come from a city-state ruled by a Golden Dragon dynasty which has the occasional Red child after a redeemed Red married into their line millenia ago.
>>46629555
But Gemstone dragons are just psionic dragons.

Did the Succubus also happen to be a thief/assassin?
Did the Ranger try to fight the succubus to suck the bartenders dick?
>>46627147
oh no
So the other day at my FLGS, I was waiting for my own group to assemble, and just hung out and looked over the shoulders of a different group playing.
As far as I can tell, what was going on was
>Party had stolen something from some lich.
>Were running for their lives
>Had set off a number of things to distract the lich in his lair, but they didn't keep him busy long enough.
>Lich was chasing them, conjuring up more undead minions as he...

Depends on the setting? I wouldn't have an issue with it.
>>46635998
I don't understand your problem.
>>46635998
>using alignments
Can all weapons be used defensively?
Which weapon has the fewest defensive applications?
>>46634283
All weapons can be used defensively, whether it's proper defence or just acting as a layer between your soft flesh and the blow. As for fewest applications? I'm not sure myself but knuckle dusters and tiny knives seem almost useless.
>>46634283
Offense can be defense and defense can be offense
Defense can be achieved with an offensive action and Offense can be decided by a defensive action by the attacker.
Don't get caught up in the two terms, they're just circumstances to a bigger picture.
Flails.
For those of you with consistent settings, have you played a peasant?
Is that a Sims3 door?
>>46633846
No, but I've considered making it a campaign.
>>46633846
>not using that motivation to become a new BBEG, honing your body into a weapon, and forging armor that turn you into an anathema to magic
>not slowly killing their sons, daughters and friends
>not waltzing into the fucking throne room with your big ass blacksmith hammer and killing the wizard in front of his court while she is away
>not plunging the world into war by leading some crazy peasant...

Have you ever had one of your or your friend's PC come back as the BBG, /tg?
>>46632728
No but I'd like to try something like pic related at some point
>>46632845
What are some of your ideas?
>>46632728
Not yet.
He's currently the BBEG in another campaign, though.
I'm hesitant to have him face his allies again, mostly because he could only bring himself to kill one of them (the person who betrayed him). Currently, nobody's told them what's going on, because they think explaining the situation would make things worse.
I've told the betrayer that the person they sacrificed (somewhat unknowingly) will be back, though I haven't explicitly told who it is. I think the player knows,...
