The world map - wee've discovered all major continents on our planet, though the interiors of the two southern ones are mostly unknown to us.
Out west the former pajit colonies are now an independent union - many pajit fled there during the war and many continue to migrate as the new pajit union promises freedom and prosperity for all its countrymen.
With the destruction of the empire it is unknown what will happen in relations to the pacharnati, who had grown close to the pajit.

Will is still a time travelling troll. Zix got story-timed and isadorable. People argued about summoning again. Reposts. Kelly Digges. Awakened cats. Gaia got story-timed and isa hot coma mountain babe who doesn't like people touching her shit. Sparks sparks and more sparks. Symon is cool relatable guy. Actually, when I got into detail of Sephren's personality details, no one argued with it or said anything bad about it. >>46855189
Only one anon argued that his kinship with Cromat seemed similar to Nissa's control over Ashaya. Which seems completely on the different sides of the scale of being in relation to another being.

All right, let's see what I roll.
What are some of the absolute worst things you can imagine an Aboleth doing? I've heard they can be pretty nightmarish, but the basic descriptions I've come across lack the punch I was expecting.
What other creepy body horror inflicting monsters have you used/come across in your campaigns?
I actually plan on using one in my upcoming campaign. It's going to be sitting motionless in a dark chamber, while it mindcontrols an entire nation.
Also, they are known in some editions to trap humanoid races underground with them until they mentally snap and become feral frog people.
Sex in the missionary position with the lights off while holding hands
Do you include a "beach episode" in your campaigns?
As in a session where the plot doesn't move forward, no combat, and it's just the PCs shooting to shit and having fun in an exotic location?
My group's pretty weeb so yeah, they're kind of a dumb tradition. I remember the first one I personally kicked off was more of a bath house episode: after finally acquiring all our party members and marching for days on end, my paladin had the bright idea that a nice hot soak might be good for morale. So he went and dug out a hige hole, lined it with this waterproof skin we had, and instructed the druid to fill it up using their create water cantrip. One wizard's scorching ray later, and we were all laughing up a storm sitting naked in hot water. A hearty meal,...

that sounds extremely awkward and/or boring
No shit? Having breather parts with some jokes and worldbuilding and introducing some new NPCs is incredibly important in pacing. You cant have grim dark on the, blades edge, on a mission, three seconds before midnight tension all the time before darkness induced apathy sets in. Seeing a burned down tavern is much more impactful if you remember visiting that place and had some drinks there a couple sessions before. It also gives structure to a campaign.

What does terrorism look like in your setting? Who are the terrorists? What is their motivation or domain: political, religious, apocalyptic, something else? Who are they fighting against, and how are they going about it? Are they effective?
>>46871214
I don't have any, but I need a small terrorist group for my upcoming campaign. D&D5e, low fantasy setting, and I need them to be truly evil, not sympathetic antiheroes.
Any ideas?

Each anon expands upon a previous anon's ideas (not necessarily in order) and then adds a new aspect of their own for others to play off of.
I'll start: The setting is an alternate Earth after the anti-magic field surrounding the planet is destroyed by inter-dimensional interlopers.
A psychotic cult wants to sacrifice people who practice magic to summon an eldritch horror
>>46870813
The eldritch horror is actually just a remnant of an ancient civilization
>>46870859
He's successfully summoned, but only because the whole "sacrificing people" thing pissed him off.
Hey /tg/,
Are you ready to continue our insectoid romp through the boreal forests?
I'll stick around for a while longer. I believe we were at the shore of a great lake when last we left our insect clan and there was something disturbing the water's surface.

For the CON bonus.
I'm about to run a second campaign in a universe I created for another campaign (that went pretty well), the game style was heavily inspired by Fire Emblem, primarily the act of building up NPC allies needed to win large battles and having a story focused heavily on relationships between main characters.
I'll post a summary of the characters that were recruited last time around in another post so you get the idea. There are four primary races: Humans (civilized and barbaric), Dragonkin, Giantkin, and Changelings, but most fantasy class dynamics remain (rogues,...

As it was my first try at doing something like this, I remained pretty simple with the concepts, early on I gave them a "starter set" of characters to get the idea rolling. I'll also post whether or not they actually successfully recruited them.
Basic Tank (Heavy Armor / Shield) - Recruited
Basic Archer - Recruited
Villager/Cabin Boy - Recruited, later lost
Magic Warrior/Battle Priest - Recruited, later lost
Soldier/Duelist - Recruited, probably the group's favorite
Teen White Mage/Priestest - Recruited
Teen Black Mage/Sorceress -...

I'm not going to keep this alive artificially forever, but I thought there might be some people on here who had played a Fire Emblem game and went "Hey, there should be a dude that's like X except Y or does Z", or other tried and true NPC ally concept.
Note, the players were in charge of playing these NPC's in combat and about bringing them along keeping them with them. The Cabin Boy was essentially sold into slavery.

Galba, Skull-Knight from Skull Island
Race: Human. Ostensibly. Maybe some giant in there.
Unarmored tank and bruiser. Far too large to wear normal armor, he fights in a loin cloth and with an ornately etched iron club. He has tremendous staying power and is essentially a human wall of meat. He wears a dinosaur's skull as a full face helmet, and prefers not to remove it. Ever.
1. Galba is a native of the distant and hideous Skull Island, a tropical hellparadise where dinosaurs roam. Traditional...

Hey, fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls, I've been doing some world building and I've a seemingly simple question that has caused me some real trouble. If I was to include a civilized shark (or any anthromorphic species, really) people into my pirate setting, would they eat fish? What about other non-humanoid sharks? And this led to new questions, concerning other animal-humanoid species and what they would eat. How do you blokes handle this issue? Do Thri-Kreen not eat bugs? Elves are already vegan, so it wouldn't be a stretch.
>>46867095
Sharks eat fish already. Don't see why that would change.
>>46867215
But if they are "awakened" and have higher order thinking skills, might they consider a carnivore lifestyle barbaric?
>>46867095
If humans have no problem eating their lesser-evolved brethren, why should fish-people?
Your party is travelling through a dark forest. Suddenly, you notice a weird creature giving off a purple glow. You can see it waving one of its arms as it begins to move deeper into the forest. Maybe it wants to guide you through the woods?
What do you do?
>>46866015
Get out my Pokedex and scan it, of course.
Damn that is one cute Pokémon. Would definitely follow.
>>46866015
It's a ghost Pokémon, always assume it's going to try to kill you.
It's a cliche in tabletop games for the DM to have a character's loved ones (who are generally assumed to be less competent in combat than the character) targeted by their enemies.
OTHER than making your character a friendless orphan, how have you dealt with this conundrum in your games, both as a DM and as a player?
Is there some sort of guarantee that family members are unacceptable DM targets?
An example would be a character who has made his wife promise to leave their children under the protection of a paladin order if he can no longer protect them, so that at least they can live a righteous life.
>>46865739
I just don't talk about them, for the most part. Current Character will occasionally sit down and write out a letter or two before bed whenever he's in a major city, or the likes. Kind of hint at them, but don't really talk about them.
Talk to the DM beforehand, say that "rescuing the family" is a story you'd rather not play out, nor would you enjoy them being killed to up the drama. You are adults, so you can work out for yourselves what is acceptable or not.
>>46865739
>have family in one game
>DM has them kidnapped
Why? Why can I not have nice things?
