Let's talk Curses, shall we?
Most of the time when you see someone get cursed it's quite overt. Turning into a beast at night, hideous appearance, Endless life without eternal youth. You get the drill.
Let's hear some Curses that are more subtle, and do far more to torture the victim psychologically.
Feminism.
Cursed with impotence. Imagine the curse being inflict on a monarch that actually wanted to father a hire and after that the kingdom devolves into various wars of succession.

Hey guys, newfag here with an old story I've been meaning to share with the world for a long time. It's about a DnD 3.5 campaign that ended in me losing my shit and destroying reality over the DM's bullshit.
As a brief bit of context, I was part of a DnD group that was run by a power mad author as the DM who (in hindsight) didn't really know much about DnD or DMing, but at the time we thought he was our only option. We had just finished a truly disastrous campaign that was mostly spent dealing with a bunch of prima donna party members Evil DM refused to boot as well as the DM's parade of Sues, and which ultimately ended with the party fighting a bunch of evil wizards who had neither foreshadowing nor pre battle spells put in place so they died as abruptly as they came up. Evil DM then told us to make characters for a new, Epic Level Evil campaign he wanted to do. Being butthurt over the Mary Sues from the last campaign and warned by my Best Bro that Evil DM was not likely to stop including them, I decided to prepare for the worst and make an unkillable, unbeatable Druid just in case I needed to Henderson things. The Pic is the character I made.
So, uh... who wants to hear the whole story?

Will the story be more readable than your wall of Capital Letters?
If so, proceed.

I would love to read it OP.
Hey, fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls, I'm curious as to how you handle the inclusion of non-human races, if at all.
Do you use standard races for your setting/system?
Or do you make up your own equivalents to the smart and regal elves, the dumb but hearty dwarves or the brutish and evil orc?
I'm curious to your individual approach. Greentext stories would also be cool.
The continent of my setting that I primarily run has
>Humans
Bog standard feudalism.
>Snid (crustacean folk)
Who are lemmingly brave and numerous
>Ogres
Who are fey, and live in deep, untouched wilderness.
>Lizardfolk
Who are similar to native american tribes, from Inuit to Aztec.
>Finfolk
Several races of merfolk, who live wholly under the sea. Their only contact with the dry lands are through port...

I don't wanna say lurk more, but this thread basically hap[ens on the daily. I have no idea what you hope to gain by asking such a grossly obtuse question.
My setting is literally just the planet Auriga from the Endless universe. I sort of just shamelessly rip ideas from other settings for most of my stuff; if someone has objections I just start to rip from more obscure source material.
What mental associations do you form when you roll dice, /tg/? What do the different funny dice used in rpg's mean to you? What do the dice types symbolize in the game's fiction?
I'm going to list out some dice notations. I would like you to tell me one word (whatever comes to mind) when you think about that dice notation.

Racial alignment restrictions.
The mystical energy permeating creation is the same stuff that your soul is made out of; there is no other unidentified "arcane energy," or, "mystical force," floating around that can be manipulated to make fire or animate golems.
In-setting most people aren't even convinced they have a soul, unless they belong to a religion that tells them they do, are of the superstitious type, or they've dabbled in mysticism. To this end, there is no wizard guy, not of the contemporary notion, who says a few words and makes lightning fall out of the sky....

Maybe "channeller" instead of medium.
>>48217468
One thing I've considered is re-naming Class A Warlock, and then naming Class C Sorcerer.
>>48217527
Perhaps. On a literal level that's pretty much what it does, but part of me is concerned the name Channeler suggests that they work with ghosts and spirits exclusively, when that's really like one half of what they do; a sort of divination and access to a lesser level of exorcising (when compared to the warlock/sorcerer).
Really Channeler would be just as good a name for class C as it would be Class A.
I've recently made a fire themed caster for a game and I'm looking for things to shout while casting. These can be overly grandiose spell names ("ruby invocation of the scarlet orb" for a fireball), impressive sounding chants/verbal spell components, or something as simple as fire puns. Basically anything interesting or amusing that I can throw out during combat or whenever.
Have you ever made a character that does something like this? What was your theme and what did you say?
>>48216986
Just call everything fireball.
Starting a campfire?
"FIREBALL!"
Cauterizing wounds?
"FIREBALL!"
Protection from fire?
"FIREBALL!"
>>48216986
Always the great and good "Burn fuckers burn!"
Have any of you ever had a run-in with an angel in DnD? How did it go?
Also, on a broader note, how does one go about implementing an angel or two into a campaign?
>>48215812
Angels are best implemented as trash mobs in the first cave or bandit lair you have in your campaign.
>oh thank god you're here, anon!
>some thuggish solars have been robbing our merchants at the crossroads!
>please stop them! we haven't much, but if you return with their heads we can give you a few coppers
>>48215851
Thanks, Kratos
>random room has an angel inside
>he offers to help us out
>ends up being the worst DMPC ever
>strong enough to end all the battles by himself
>all of his decisions are objectively the most righteous and disagreeing with him was essentially an evil act
It was such a bad experience, I avoid using celestials whenever I can because of the bad taste it put in my mouth.

What system would you use to run a DBZ campaign?
I've seen Tenra Bansho Zero get recommended but I don't know anything about it.
I've also seen a few homebrew RPGs in various states of completeness. I haven't really read them and I can't find people commenting at all on some of them.
Since I'm thinking of running a game that has Saiyans, I'd like something with a high and wide range of powerlevels. At least enough to have players start at around Raditz-tier and get up to SSJ2.
>>48215399
Mutants and Masterminds I guess?
Dragonball heroes later frequently have less and less to do with actual martial arts and more to do with raw power and speed in their fights (fights are just blurs of speed and motion combined with energy blasts), so systems that focus on martial arts won't really work well.
M&M could handle the power scale and necessarily diversity I guess, but the same-eyness of different characters powers when the Z phase of the comic sets in really means a lot of characters will...

>I kno there's a Fuzion-based Dragonball Z RPG, but I dunno how good it actually is.
The reason why there's so many DBZ homebrew RPGs is because of how bad it is.
What is your favorite way to treat magic in-universe? Ubiquitous force? Gifted by divine favor? Sanity breaking force?
>>48214542
I'm partial to a combination of the latter two. Mortals learn magic from natural inscriptions left by agents of the gods, or from imitating miracles and rituals performed by prophets who are "touched" by the spirit of a patron deity.
>>48214542
I like my magic a little on the weird side. It's super powerful, but takes a lot of willpower and study to understand. I don't really like mage's colleges (at least really big, public ones). As for the source of magic, I guess I like it a little on the mysterious side.
Sentient magic that is fickle and strange..
Would it be possible to create a "Wargame" for Soccer?
>>48212364
Well, blood bowl, is based off American Football/Rugby. So..... sure?
>>48212364
>soccer
You mean football, right?
>>48212364
Definitely. The Football Manager series is basically turn-based strategy.
So I'm thinking of implementing a system whereby players can repeat dungeons in my 5e game. It'd be similar to WoW where they can repeat it as many times as they wish, the boss will always respawn. It'd basically be explained with dark souls logic of time being fractured at this "dungeon". The high level loot/rare stuff would be an extremely low drop rate like 1-5% if that, just to make it harder to exploit. Do you think this is doable or would it be too difficult to implement/explain/abuse by the players?
>>48210865
Ignoring the fact that it's really fucking dumb to try and turn tabletop into a videogame, you can rest assured that the players will find a way to abuse the everloving fuck out of what is essentially infinite resources.
Jesus christ just play monhun or vindictus or some shit you fucking knuckledragger
>>48210930
+2 to all stats every time someone enters the same dungeon twice, as the instance taken is one that has not been surmounted yet.
