Your jumper is now a final boss. What is your theme?
Jumpers!
We've talked about becoming gods, throwing them down, and telling them to fuck off but do you ever go out of your way to make nice with them? Is there a god, goddess, or aspect that you make a point of reaching out to or communing with?

My Iron Master Werewolf handed a mortal gang leader off to the local vampires, in my Poland game, before it died.
We also met and worked with a Joy-Claimed woman who just called herself Joy. She was pretty helpful, iirc, and the main reason we didn't kill her is we had no Storm Lords.
Just began planning to learn the WoD system and thinking of doing a test run with my roommate. He has a pretty run of the mill P.I. character with a gambling habit written out. What should we start with to really get a feel for the system?

When cognition returns to you, the first thing you are aware of is the sound of footsteps going around your body.
A pained noise comes out of your throat as you try to get up. You wince as a sharp pain lances through your head, and no amount of gentle rubbing to your temple can alleviate the dull pounding against your skull. The best you can do is pull yourself up into a tired slump. What you wouldn’t do for a bottle of water and two tablets of Tylenol…
“So, you’re finally awake are you?”
No amount of rubbing your eyes can help bring the pacing figure into focus. As a matter of fact, you’re unable to really focus on anything at all. As far as the eye can see, it’s all an incomprehensible and very sterile white. There is nothing here to give definition to anything in this world. You don’t even cast a shadow upon the ground you lie on.
A chill runs down your spine. This is not the realm of the Goddesses. At least in the place ‘between inexistence and existence’ there was something there beyond the fog. Moist soil underneath bare feet, the faint scent of hyacinth flowers upon the flittering breeze.
Here, there is nothing.
…no, that is not true.
Squatting in front of you with an unreadable expression, a humanoid shape regards you with a smile too wide to be anything but pleasant. It is a creature of pure white to match the surrounding environs. The only reason you can even see it is due to some…phenomena of some sort that gives its shape definition. Darkness clings and roils around its body, contorting with every movement as it studies you with that unnerving smile.
“That is a rhetorical question,” It continues in a voice comprised of a thousand souls. The sheer multitude of the cacophony makes it impossible to determine a gender. “You need not answer that.”

The sun rises over the forest you call home, illuminating everything and ushering in the start of a beautiful new day.
In the small building where you've lived all of your life, you sit up in your bed, stretching your arms and yawning as you take a quick look around your room. Everything is right where you left it last night; your canteen is on the dresser across the room, along with your only other set of clothes.
You hop out of bed and walk over to the dresser, changing and grabbing your canteen before heading outside.
You've been alone here...

So my new GM has that thing in his game. When you die, he asks you If you want to cheat death. You say yes, and he makes you survive whatever was supposed to end you. As an exchange, he gets to draw a small circle on your card. My friend (who is also new in the group) got two of those

As a player, I would really like something like that. It adds a whole "paranoia from that time I should have died but didn't element" Final Destination style.
The player in your story just sounds mad.
>>47220433
interresting concept , was there any curcumstance which justified this meta mechanic?
It sounds interesting, but in the interest of fairness I would either just remove his fate points, or transfer half.

I'm sorry for this mildly-baity post.
I was talking to my buddy about RPGs, and we got on the topic of really, really bad RPGs.
Naturally, I brought up Byron Hall's shitstain of a system and setting.
I talked about it with him for a while, but then...idk what happened. I guess I got curious. I was wondering, does anybody know where this fucking guy is? It's like be disappeared off the face of the Earth.
I usually would celebrate the fact that he faded into obscurity, but someone doesn't created a 900+ book of vile retardation...

Yeesh, /tg/ Hivemind, much?
I saw a news story a year ago about some dude named Byron Hall who was in jail for drugging and raping a 17 year old. Could it be, maybe? They had a pic of him, but I don't know if it's him or not.

Is it ever feasible to attach a chain to your weapon like this?
>>47207494
Yes, but not to twirl the main weapon around like a moron.
You can use the chain as a chain + weight weapon, providing you an extra weapon. You can also use the entire weapon to ensnare, tangle, trip, or catch blades.
You can also wrap the chain around your arm to prevent disarming.
>>47207494
It's a real weapon, so probably. I'm guessing it was pretty niche though.
The Kusari-gama was a real weapon, quite effective in duels but very niche, since it requires a large open environment to work. A crowded battlefield, a forest or even a hallway can cripple your attempts to use it.
Then again, in a ridiculous over the top fantasy game, go fuckin' nuts.
How did you choose your faction?
Is "tier" worth keeping in consideration? Or should someone choose a faction they just like the look of.
I feel that since there are so many, it's hard to really know anything about them without playing for a while. All I really have to go off of is aesthetics.
>>47205869
I chose IG for lore, how they look, and how they play.
I like tanks.
I like that they're the average joe in a galaxy filled with superhumans, alien abominations, actual abominations, and so forth.
I'm going to start Tyranids simply because I love how they look.
>>47205869
>How did you choose your faction?
Looks, lore, models, style.
>Is "tier" worth keeping in consideration? Or should someone choose a faction they just like the look of.
Never pick by tiers, as they fluctuate wildly. So far, Newcrons, Eldar, and Daemons have been consistently top armies, the latter two since day one of 2nd edition. Tau and marines look to be staying strong for the future, but were once bad or average armies.
Looks...

I'm back to Jund, but just can't seem to like Kalitas very much. I mean sure, he's a very good hate card for Abzan Company and is also pretty solid against BGx and even URx to some degree, but in other matchups he feels like a very slow stabilizer, which I find way too sluggish in the aggro matchups like Burn. In some matchups he just feels horrible and makes me question why I even play it.
