Why is it so hard to kill people with guns in this game? i swear to god, people are constantly hitting with guns but don't do enough to kill because of the autistic way that successes work in combat. You have like a 90% chance of hitting someone if you have a 5 dice pool but only like 10% chance of putting them down in one shot.

What next, a group of Begotten who have been re-purposed into weapons by the Seers?
>>47301716
Disappearing socks. You can laugh all you want, but every day in usa alone approximate 1 tonn of matter vanish into nothingness.
So I'll be GMing an Adeptus Evangelion game here pretty soon. A couple of the players are kinda new to TRPGs, but they wanted to play it. My veteran player will be their operations director.
How have your AdEva games gone /tg/? Did your pilots save the world? Did they get tanged? What was Seele's end goal? Did you change up the themes at all?
V3.05 is fine if you don't have more than 3 eva units.
Any more is suffering.
Also don't make an angel that litetally can't be hit. Give +1 difficulty modifier to angels if your players have positron weapons.
>>47258810
I'll have exactly 3 units, and we were planning on using V3
Why the extra difficulty modifier vs. positron? Are they that good?
>>47258853
Ranged weapons poop on angels and positron is the best ranged weapon. Also the best shield.

Couldn't even drop him to P&S 16?
He actually needed to keep P&S18 and 5 focus in an army with shitloads of access to Dark Shroud?
>>47315327
He wasn't even too strong before and they nerfed him significantly in many ways, so no more upkeep casting, his healing is significanty weaker, he can't get souls.
>>47315327
Because 23 points for P+S16 would be garbage
What character backstories do you see alot that make you cringe? Myself: The cleric or paladin looking for redemption from their god
I utterly hate this backstory. If your looking for redemption in the eyes of your god, then from my point of view, you've fallen from grace with your god. Which, again in my view, means you should be a ex-whatever class you chose and shouldn't have your classes powers.
Also this backstories tends to attract people to play moopy/depressing/sulks-in-the-corner characters.

This is a genuine character one player tried to pitch to me. I vetoed that shit instantly.

So what exactly are the "angels" that show up in the Lothric Castle lore? Are they Primordial Serpents? Are they Pilgrim Butterflies? Neither of those fits with the feathery wings the golden winged knights have, or with the feathers scattered all over Gertrude's (?) cage. I feel like I missed a crucial piece of information.

Setting edition. What are your favorite OSR-based campaign settings?
Lamentations of the Flame Princesses' historical setting takes it away by far for me. Shitty guns, strange spellcasting and the wierd world of the 1600's just makes me a happy camper.
Alright OSR, I have an...opposite question.
I'm only versed in OSR. LotFP, B/X and DCC are the only systems I've ever run. OSR is my preferred style of choice, but my group of players (who aren't tabletop gamers normally) I feel like they're going to feel restricted after a while if every fantasy themed game we play is the same 7-Class option. And I know for some of them, their character permanently dying all the time is off putting. They wanna create a PC and build it up over time. They want to be a Ranger or a Gnome and short of homebrewing rules for that into my LotFP game (and causing the one RAW-autist to explode), I can't provide.
What more 'modern' system would you recommend me? 5e? Pathfinder? Shadow of the Demon Lord? I need something that's relatively just as easy for a beginner to pick up as B/X or LotFP.

>They want to be a Ranger or a Gnome and short of homebrewing rules for that into my LotFP game (and causing the one RAW-autist to explode), I can't provide.
Specialist. And tell the autist to check his autism, because houserules are what makes the game fun.
I'm going to be attempting to GM Shadowrun for the first time in two days, using Roll20, but I don't know much about the actual lore beyond playing SR:R, and I'm substituting the system for a simplified one of my own creation that's a bit more like XCOM.
Here is the session plan.

Go to /srg/, they'll answer all your lore questions.
SR is an EXTREMELY lore heavy game (arguably the one with the heaviest still in modern publication), so bear with them.
So I'm planning a neutral evil bard character.
A very charismatic fellow after money and power.
He's the middle child of a barely noble family, took the life away from battle to focus on learning about the ways of diplomacy, arts and power dynamics in politics.
He's definitely not above stealing, maiming or killing to satisfy his greed. He's more a sociopath/manipulator. Not a depraved psycho. Pragmatic yet power hungry.
I'm still working on the backstory but I'm not sure about what are the skills he should have.

Playing an evil character, huh? Is it an evil campaign? Cause if it's not, it might be tricky. A lot of DMs don't even entertain the idea of evil characters in their game simply because of how potentially disruptive they can be for the rest of the party. I would ask your DM first, and maybe the other players too, before devoting a ton of time to it.
Also, what edition are you going to be playing?
>>47312825
Well this is what I'm trying to figure out. I'm not really interested in provoking petty fights.
I'm just really trying to play some character that us truly looking out for #1 and any other alignment seems lacking.
Playing someone that can't decide to take a slave here and there or engage in some "off screen" torture seems very limiting.
Edition is probably 3rd.
>>47312970
Talk to the other players first before you decide to go full evil. If someone is playing a paladin, or any character that strongly opposes evil, it's going to devolve into a petty shit flinging contest.. And you're gonna be asshole for bringing an evil character.
If you absolutely want to have the freedom to do everything without having to worry about anything, there's always Chaotic Neutral, but once again, it has a rather nasty stigma attached to it.
The big problem is, by their very...

This Gas'n'Go is set in the New Mexico desert out in the goonies, where the "towns" are trailers huddled around gravel road intersections and it's easier to get a loan from the patron than the bank.
When Brent, the baseball loving cashier, and Cleatus, the gentle redneck gas station attendant-cum-wrench monkey, arrived the usual dust storm kicked up once they clocked in, stripping away the smooth yellow of the desert and replacing it with burnt ochre sand and a fertile, fiery red...

At around 11:15 PM a short bus full of Cub Scouts showed up.
The troop leader, Mr. Jim, stumbled out of the bus with baggy, bloodshot eyes and asked Cleatus to fill 'er up. Cleatus, being a gentle redneck, delegated this task to the small children.
Once Mr. Jim entered the Gas'n'Go with a gaggle of hyperactive Cub Scouts trailing behind who immediately scattered through its bigger on the inside interior. He immediately purchased a red steering wheel lock, left his card with Brent...

At around 11:40 Brent a wave of convulsive coughing fits hitting the kids, though his attention was mainly focused on a poorly maintained chest cooler filled with the strange meat the skeleton fishermen delivered every Tuesday. A handful of scouts had opened it up and were eating handfuls of raw meat.
Outside Cleatus decided to check in with Brent about Mr. Jim, who he hadn’t seen return, while the cashier was fondling his baseball bat. They both decided it was about to be one of those nights and while Brent was given the task of clearing out the children Cleatus went to check in on the troop leader.
>Cleatus knocked on the door, "Y'all right in thar?"
>"Occupied!" Mr. Jim shouted through the door.
>"It's been twenty minutes, fella, you fallin' in or what?"
>"Uh..." Then came a telltale click-click-thunk of the anti-theft bar being extended and set against the handle. "You guys might want to hole up in the break room or something, it's about quarter 'til midnight."
>"God fucking damn it, Mr. Jim! I ain't yer fuckin' baby sitter!" Cleatus futilely attempted to unlock and open the door before deciding to drop it and catch up with Brent.

Hey guys I'm new to MTG. Could I get some opinions on how to best build a deck? How many lands, creatures, etc. Thanks for the help
>>47310681
The exact spells-to-creature ratio kind of depends on the colour you're playing - green needs creatures more than blue, for example - but a good rule of thumb is that your deck should be about 60% creatures/spells and 40% land to ensure a consistent mana curve.
>>47310681
Just netdeck
You're new?, did anyone tell you how much this cost beforehand?
Why are d20 systems the worst systems?
>>47310611
It's not even close to the worst. The Palladium/Rifts system for instant is both clunkier and has even more imbalanced. It's just that d20 is everywhere. So anyone who doesn't like it can't escape it, and ends up hating it.
>>47310611
Because D&D caters to too many people wanting everything to be jammed into one system that was never intended for most of the shit people run it for.
It's designed by committee for a product that was only meant to do one thing, these choices affect almost every in every game that uses the d20 system, and the ones that don't suffer from the d20 systems problems are so far removed from it that it would have been easier to start from scratch.
>>47311450
>i literally can't stop shitposting and need medical assistance
Is there a way to make a campaign set in a "sandbox", a rather small area with multiple landmarks that get visited often and NPCs that show up frequently to give quests or just shoot to shit?
I'm fairly new to the DM thing
>>47310608
Yes, and they are called city based campaigns. Check out Ptolus and Vornheim for ideas/inspiration.
>>47310608
Jojo is shit, desu senpai.
>>47310659
There's also Slumbering Ursine Dunes, which works on a landmark system.
