Screw basic lands. I play 3 color with no basics

Picture related is my favorite island. I checked on my naya deck and the land base is right at 50% basics with 16 out of 33 being basic. Shivan Harvest is my favorite nonbasic hate.
>Urban fantasy
>Players play shamans who can walk the Noosphere; the realm of ideas; the collective subconscious
>Powers are divided among 4 groups, each group based on one sort of primal emotions/thoughts
And here's where I'm stumped. What should I make said groups?
Could go for Plutchik's wheel - basic emotions are joy, trust, fear, and surprise, and their opposites.
>>48325688
That seems like a nice basis, though Surprise/Anticipation is kind of thematically weak.
>>48326017
It's honestly not that weak. It could be the quick and easy route for magic users. It's insanely easy to cause surprise/anticipation but it's also very fleeting.
A thread dedicated to discussion and feedback of games and homebrews made by /tg/ regarding anything from minor elements to entire systems, as well as inviting people to playtest your games online. While the thread's main focus is mechanics, you're always welcome to share tidbits about your setting.
Try to keep discussion as civilized as possible, avoid non-constructive criticism, and try not to drop your entire PDF unless you're asking for specifics, it's near completion or you're asked to.

Okay, some general advice:
-Examples never, ever hurt. Explain how someone grapples, or knocks someone down, or does their skill points, or whatever. This makes learning a new system MUCH easier. I would advise making a generic character step-by-step in little side boxes or something in the chargen section.
-DON'T put in trap options. DO make some rules/guidelines for custom options.
-DON'T use vague language. That's fine in cinematic descriptions, but it makes shit hard to decipher....

How do you create or roll your characters
>read core rulebook
>follow instructions given
>>48322942
Some rpgs propose more than one rule.
>>48322916
It depends entirely on the system.
If it's a system with a lot of freedom in the character creation I'll start by thinking up a cool consept that I want to explore and then start working towards that when statting up the character. Sometimes I'll change my mind or add new things as I'm filling out the character sheet, especially if it's a system with lots of features I've yet to try out.
If it's a system with a lot of random elements as part of the character creation I'll...

What kind of rumors, propaganda, disinformation, and/or false flagging can be spread to sabotage the worship of a triune of minor goddesses?
There is an out-of-the-way cluster of worlds. In those worlds, nearly everyone worships three minor goddesses. The deities live in another plane and can only manifest as avatars in the worlds.
They are:
A god of plant-born food, nobility, and royalty
A god of animal-born food, subjugation, and slavery
A god of water-born sustenance, decadence, and hedonismAll of the people in these worlds and the goddesses...

As a DM I would certainly be okay with PCs sowing poison and disease to discredit a minor/demi-deity. They should however be aware of the fact that the first investigator on the site to cast detect magic, detect poison, or a similar spell would cause their attempts to backfire.
Because in a world where magic and gods are real things even a very small religious following will have at least one Inquisitor.

Complication: The worlds are, themselves, made of food. The spherical planets are fruits, the rivers are juice, the trees are chocolate, the clouds are cotton candy.

Describe one of your original races in just a paragraph or two. You should be able to describe their culture and appearance this quickly, even if they have a rich ethnography.
If your setting just has humans, describe their unique culture in a single paragraph.

Ok, if we're talking about races: How many is too many? How many is too few? What's the sweet spot to get people interested? How many should be playable VS not (excluding monsters)?
