What are some good names for space money other than credits?
>>47569618
"Plats", for platinum precious metal coins.
Platinum and platinum-based metals is relatively common in space compared to Earth, and unless you have an FTL banking system that works perfectly and can get everyone to agree to a single currency exchange (which we can't even do among JUST human beings mind you), then physical goods and precious metals might come back into play just because digital currency is impossible, unreliable, or worthless.
Shares and certificates.

How does one decently and fairly determine a rare item's price value?
>>47550155
Personally I just check how much XP they have to level and use that as a basis since I use XP = GP rules.
>>47550321
Well, this has less to do with leveling and more for rare items with benefit.
I'm working on a post-apoc thing and if a character finds a Gasmask [+1 AC, +2 Poison Saves] what is a good way to determine it's monetary value? It's not some thing that can be bought from just anyone anywhere, thus isn't in the standard equipment/armor/weapon list I have.
Anybody have their hands on Strange Magic that'd be willing to share? I don't think it's in the trove.

You've never been one for riding in carriages. They always seemed so stuffy, a kind of luxury that you'd never earned, or wanted to earn. Still, as you leave the nameless outpost town – a graveyard, now – behind, you find yourself riding in one of those boxy vehicles.
Most of the horses fled in...

Tenngaru's northern half is littered with old roads, paths and forest trails. Most of them are only suitable for a horse, but that still leaves several that would accommodate a convoy of carriages. Of all the routes you could have taken, all the outposts you could have stopped at, the Ascetic knew exactly the right place to lay his traps.
The question, then, is how?
True enough, he could have used sorcery – spying on the Emperor's movements from afar, or even predicting them before the carriages ever started to roll. If that's true, then the game was rigged from the start – there was nothing any of you could have done. If not, though...
As the first blocky shapes of the Dragon's Head approach, you consider your options. Ra sent troops ahead to secure the outpost, troops who are now ash on the wind. It's possible that those troop movements tipped the Ascetic off, and the rest was simply a matter of a lucky guess. Or, you consider, there's the other option – the simple, but ever-present threat of treachery. One of those soldiers, or some other mongrel bastard, talked. Someone sold you out, for whatever meagre reward the Ascetic had to offer.
Relief is bright on the faces of the other soldiers as you arrive at the Dragon's Head, but you don't share their pleasure. Every man who crosses your path, you scrutinise carefully, searching them for any sign of treachery. Even the Emperor, helping a pale and demure Miura down from her carriage, is not above suspicion. He looks like quite the hero, struggling on despite the adversity thrown in his path.
“You've got a dark look in that eye of yours,” Ra murmurs to you, approaching from behind, “Something isn't quite right here, isn't that right?”
You glance around at that, looking into Ra's grim face.
“So,” he adds, “What do you think?”

Now I am not one to judge, but why do people do it ?
I mean how can you be fully emerged in your character and roleplay the character when he/she is a different gender ?
Is it to create the perfect waifu/husbandu ?
I don't think even gay people do that.
/x/ had threads about it.
>>47577339
I roleplayed as my waifu in ss13 no homo
When I'm a player I never do, just not my thing. As a GM though it's really out of necessity. It'd be pretty stupid if literally everyone in my setting was a dude.
Good morning and welcome back to Ask A Judge! The thread died out while I was asleep last night, so it's time for a new one.
Would you play with unhinged cards with your friends?
>>47574869
Sure, we've done it before. I really wish I could have done some Unhinged drafts when it was new.
How do timestamps, or whatever it's called in the rules, work. For example, I play a card that says all lands are swamps and then another player plays a card that says all lands are forests, which card wins?
After spending all spells and losing all your weapons (the GM was an asshole), you are about to face an ancient beholder, he's just a few rooms of the dungeon away. You can't afford any delay - fortunately, you found a chest with those two items:

Air potion of magical speed fortification;
Bronze orb of gnomish undeath.
metal flute of all-powerful liches;
sapphire guitar of invicible destiny change.
I won the game.
Ghost sapphire wand of dwarven giants enhancement;
berserker bone dice of dark hexes.
"Dwarven Giants"...so...humans? anyway it sounds like it gives you giants strength or some shit.
And dark hexes sound good. I think i'll survive a round.

What does one sacrifice in order to become a lich? Is the magic and or ritual inherently evil?
And, related, would someone who became a lich for a noble cause still be detected by detect evil? Ignoring that the alignment detection spells are silly of course.
I'm curious what /tg/ thinks.
>>47583605
>D&D:
A lot of money.
Yes.
There's a special elf good-guy lich that's good aligned. They still know it's a bad idea, but sometimes they need to do it for reasons.
>>47583605
The specifics of the sacrifice are left up to the DM, but to quote the d20 SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/lich.htm)
"The process of becoming a lich is unspeakably evil and can be undertaken only by a willing character."
According to that source, it's some bad juju. The process itself requires evil, and because D&D morality works by actions, not intention, there does not appear to be a RAW way to get around it being evil.
>>47583926
That's an interesting bit of fluff, I hadn't seen that.
Wouldn't worry too much about getting around detection really, this is more for curiosity/world building than anything.

What would chests look like in a setting with mimics?
>>47581140
chests would look weird as shit, probably becoming increasing esoteric as time goes on to confuse the fuck out of mimics.
>>47581140
Chests would naturally open *away* from the users
>>47581140
How about this: They don't look like anything. They are eldritch aberrations summoned by a mad wizard to the material plane. Their true form is to horrible for the mortal mind to comprehend so they appear as something harmless like a chest or barrel we saw in the past.
Or maybe its like some sort of glamour like fey have.
