Besides silly mistakes are what make us people.
What noises do tiny dragons make? Not hatchlings, but species where, for whatever reason, they're full-grown at about the size of a housecat, maybe smaller.
Do they chirp? Purr? Hiss? Do they do a mockingbird thing and try to mimic noises from around them? Or maybe they speak (and if so, don't they still make other noises)?
Also, dragon thread in general I guess.

And now I'm phone posting cause I'm out all night so I can check out Saturn's opposition. So kinda related I guess.
So do you guys prefer hard sci fi or soft sci fi for your horror?
I prefer hard, because things are a lot less scary if you can just blast the boogeymen with a laser and safety is just a quick FTL jump away
>>47601424
Normally I like my sci-fi a little on the softer side, but for suspense, hard all the way. Knowing that you can't techno-babble your way out of any situation makes it so much more effective.

Is there other variation ?
I can't fit Deadeye no matter what... and extra munition is more important I think.
I got adaptability because how it is freaking free and i'm really short on Gamma veteran are the only solution to fire before A-wing swarm, CrackTIESwarm, and the Countess.
Maybe 3 Veteran + Deadeye and dropping a guy to a lesser PS pilot ?
What would be better ?

June 4th marks the centennary of the Brusilov Offensive, also known as the "June Advance". This was the Russian Empire's greatest feat of arms during World War I, and among the most lethal offensives in world history. It was the worst crisis of World War I for Austria-Hungary and one of the Triple Entente's greatest victories, but it came at a tremendous loss of life.
The offensive involved a major Russian attack against the armies of the Central Powers on the Eastern Front, launched on June 4, 1916, and lasting until late September. It took place...

> What game do you own (if any) that you have to be selective when it comes time to play for fear of potentially offending players?
> What is your preferred board game transporter? (We had a good conversation on different bags - a few threads back, but damned if I can find the links I saved in order to add them to the pastebin...)
Alright /bgg/, I need some help.
If you had to recommend a single game of any category or genre, what would it be?
Only qualifier is that it has to play well with 3 people.
>>47550410
>> What's your favorite category of games (i.e. Ameritrash, Euro-game, War Game, Deck Builder, etc.)
War Games - particularly with campaigns. Next most popular would be Space 4x games.
>> What category of games do you have the most difficulty getting to the table with your main group? (Bonus feels if it's the same answer as the question above...)
War Games, mainly because a lot of them are only 2 player, and longer play time / campaign games require a commitment that a lot of folks just aren't willing to make. That said my group is willing to indulge my 'Space 4x' habit from time to time.
>> What game do you own (if any) that you have to be selective when it comes time to play for fear of potentially offending players?
I own CaH, and don't really have to worry about offending most of my regular gaming group. The one that seems to get people's panties in a bunch is 'Kittens in a Blender' (where you try to blend other player's cats for points while saving your own). Sure, it sounds warped, but quite frankly if one can't separate reality from fantasy then one has larger issues than board gaming to worry about.
>> What is your preferred board game transporter?
I've got a 'High Sierra' bag that's nearly duff-bag sized with a plastic base inside and wheels at one end along with heavy duty carrying straps. It fits a boat-load of games and can accommodate even the large boxes like Eclipse or TI3. It doesn't have padding, but adding some thick towels helps keep the wear-n-tear down on the box corners.
>>47550487
>If you had to recommend a single game of any category or genre, what would it be?
>Only qualifier is that it has to play well with 3 people.
That is WAY to vague to answer well. There are literally dozens (if not hundreds) of games in a given category or genre that will get recommendations from someone.

A quick question for the people who have experience with US Mechanized forces in TY.
What are your opinions about having the Dragons in the infantry platoons vs mounting them on the M113s?
Part of me says leaving them with the infantry is the smarter choice, but part of me says a mobile anti-tank missile might also be useful.
>>47543992
Dismounted, in my view.
You can't move and shoot with them anyway, so you always have the option of remounting if you need to get somewhere in a hurry. The M113 is also massively more fragile, while the infantry will be an annoyingly hard target for everything out of machinegun range.
Not sure what it is about D-Day games, but something brings out the worst in me. Two separate incidents:
Person: Wave after wave of my own troops at your positions. Too bad for me Germans don't have pre-set kill limits.
Me: Sure they do. Approximately six million.
Me: We're going to build an Atlantik Wall, and make the Jews pay for it! And every time they say "please don't put me in the oven", we add another HMG!

I'm sorry for your mother.
Been thinking about those new feats in Unearthed Arcana. With regards to the weapon feats, the universal consensus seems to be "cool, but the +1 to attack rolls is a terrible idea."
Bearing that in mind, two questions.
1) Are the feats notably impacted in power if the +1 to attack is removed (i.e., are they no longer worth taking)?
2) If something needs to be subbed in to make the feats worthwhile, how does pic stack up?
Reposting because dead thread.
I've cleaned up my old Dark Souls homebrew that people seemed to like, and I want to start to add more to it. What mechanics, spells, and monsters do people want to see rules for?
I had an idea for adding a Weapon Skills variant rule, inspired by Dark Souls 3's system.
Why in all of 40k has no faction ever thought to find and kill the tyranid hivemind? If they squish the big bad brainbug, the nids would be a complete nonissue.
Yet every time, they waste precious resources grinding their faces against the lesser creatures that the hivemind controls.
>>47669968
> find
There's the important part right there.
Do you know what the word hivemind means
the hivemind isn't the overmind from starcraft
it's all of the tyranids combined
>the seemingly-shifty grand vizier isn't a traitor who covets power, he just highly distrusts the PCs and attempts to sabotage them due to this gut instinct
>>47669872
I actually saw something similar happen in a campaign I was in. My character wound up accidentally saving the kingdom by prodding the guy with rumors to watch his reactions.
Yes, I was so bad at playing politics that it went out the other side and became almost greatness.
>>47669872
>The baron isn't evil, his manners are just a bit brusque because he used to be in the army and is sick and tired of silver tongued nobles trying to trick him out of his well-earned position.
>>47669872
To be fair, the vizier's job as an upper level administrator and advisor means he should 100% be suspicious of murderhobos. Or anyone from outside the establishment, really.
Are mortals just canon fodder in exalted? Everything seems to be stronger than mortals and I wonder how mortals survive alone.
>>47667277
Not all mortals.
Heroic mortals can kick some serious ass and if you get attached to some, they can become awesome. Especially if you train them to become Tiger Warriors, or use whatever that charm was in the War Charms section that lets you train forces to become incredibly elite.
>>47667277
Which edition?
Regardless they can match exalts simply by doing things the exalt cant. Like a dawn with 20 combat charms could beat any mortal in a fight sure but a mortal with performance 5 is still going to sing better than him.
>>47667404
In 3e I don't think mortals can get 5 dots in abilities or attributes I don't think...
