Why do people who argue caster supremacy not realize that every class casts spells now? There is no war left to fight, there are no martials left.
So I want to try running a game focused on exploration and survival. Have a big map for the players to explore, chart out, and encounter enemies.
How feasible is this to do in 5e?
>>47741500
Just because there are caster archetypes doesn't mean everyone is picking one, or even that they're the best pick
>>47741701
Super Easy. Hordes of the Underdark is basically this.
Okay /tg/, in all manner of settings you've encountered and know what are the fantasy races YOU, YOU as a person most identify with.
You look at them and think "Hey, if I were there, I'd probably be one of those too, i'm all about THAT."
Maybe it's culture, maybe it's appearance, or just general comfort.
What fantasy race would YOU be?Funmodo: What ones would you try and affiliate yourself with the least, and which would you not be, but happily be allied with.
RACISM WELCOME.
Dwarves are overrated and unreliable.
My friend just bought this game. Is it good or should I laugh at him for wasting his money? From what I can tell it's just advanced RPS
>>47735748
You should just be honest when you want to make threads about games you like.
It's very good, fantastic even. It's rock paper scissors in the same way Chess is rock paper scissors.
They're both non-random, and unlike RPS you have information that narrows down your opponents possible moves.
>>47736128
Well I've only played 2 games with him. I guess we only played with novice level characters so far so it just seems kinda whatever. Hopefully the more intermediate characters have more depth.
>>47736215
It's not about the characters, it's about you.
You have to think about the several dozeb different moves available, what's not available, balance out the probability of that person using that move, then choose to be unpredictable or to play the most optimal move.
That's without the shitton of optional rules like force gauge.
What steps should one take when worldbuilding?
>>47735710
Step one: Google worldbuilding
>>47735710
Do as little as possible. Your players will generally either ignore it or outright WRECK IT, and you'll feel pretty bad about all that hard work going down the toilet.
Worse, too much worldbuilding means you can't roll with the punches and insert stuff on the fly, because there's no room to cram it in.
Generally if you have to stop the game all the time and look shit up in your documents because you can't keep all that stuff you made up straight, that's the point at which...

Thousand Eyes Restrict unbanned when?

Never, Pegasus. Just like they'll never make Toons good or important staples not a secret rare. Take that, America!
>>47732906
When will ritual monsters get special effects?
>>47733081
Some do?
Quick! You have 10 seconds to write an interesting, original adventure hook that takes place in a generic fantasy setting.
Hard mode:The realm has no gods/deities
The Gnoll highwaymen are attacking the caravan, you guys are the Northern Scouts and have to investigate.

The old regime that fled into exile has discovered dragons a d how to tame them. Now they are building an army of foteigb, barbaric people's to invade the kingdom and reclaim their lost throne.
>>47727943
Gardener is the BBEG.
If you use the same methods of the villain but you use them for good, are you the same as the villain?
>>47726505
Depends on what those methods are, how you use them, and when.
But you're still probably a pretty big douche.
>>47726505
Not if the villain's methods are candy, cute kittens and long strolls in the moonlight.
>>47726505
If you use methods that work, you're the hero.
If you use methods that don't work, you're corpse #1853.

If anyone's forgotten that shit (IT'S BEEN A FUCKING YEAR), I can post the recon brief again. I'm not even sure if I posted it the first time, but I can post it again.
What are some interesting ways to start off a campaign?
The Party meeting each other in a asylum.
The city is under siege and the town administration ask for volunteers to defend it.
>>47739160
this, but make it a rehab center
How do you play a chaotic neutral character without succumbing to the "LOLSORANDOM" and Chaotic stupid cliches?
Hello, /tg/ front line tech support.
Have you tried not playing D&D?Sorry, 'twas obligatory
They're an asshole. Who flip flops between saving someone from falling off of a bridge and letting a companion die so he can escape.
>>47723325
By making them an honest rebel against the government.
Think Mad Stan from Batman Beyond, in a game that's about destroying the corrupt government and reducing corporate control over people, he's a CN done right. He just wants freedom for himself and everyone, even if that means anarchy and blowing up a few buildings.
He came off as a raving lunatic, but most people who are really passionate about their cause do.
Why doesn't 40K have armored cars?
>>47740882
because 40k barely has cars.
>>47740882
Isn't that the taurox?
Elysians have a dune buggy if I recall
>Board Games are growing and mainstream
>Tabletop rpg are in decline and niche
Why
The amount of time you have to invest is unsuitable or undesirable for modern society
>>47739136
This. RPGs inherently require long-term investment from at least one participant (And ideally all of them). You have to plan out weeks ahead for times to get together and have to plan at least some amount of game content as well.
Whereas board games, card games and similar rarely carry over from session to session.
>>47739002
Could you provide any data and sources for that, OP?
So it looks like Marvel copy-pasted Tau vehicles with minimal changes, thoughts on the future lawsuit?
>>47724448
that 3d is fucking disgusting, was this comic made to sel with a ps2 launch title ?
>>47724448
This is old news, man. So I'll say the same dumb joke I did last time this was posted: Wouldn't be the first time the name "Space Knight" has been associated with lawsuits over image rights.
>>47724481
It's a pretty recent issue, I don't read much of Marvel but the quality is bad. There's more about it in this article: https://graphicpolicy.com/2016/04/28/is-that-tau-in-venom-space-knight-paging-gw-lawyers/
I had an idea for a character backstory.
A village of monster girls (harpies and lamias mainly) find a ship wrecked on the coast of their island, and recover a single survivor, a young girl. The girl gets adopted by a family and brought up as a daughter but as she gets older she starts to feel like she doesn't fit in, so eventually when she comes of age she sets off on a quest to become a monster girl, even though her family love her enough as-is.
What sort of methods are there to become a monster girl, though? If it's easy she would have done it already.
>>47720942
Well, if it's the Monstergirl Encyclopedia universe, she just needs to make out with a monstergirl to get infected with her Mamono mana so that she becomes a Demi-Succubus, and then have sex with a human man, completing her transformation.
Doing so would most likely cause her to regard the man who deflowered her as her husband, which is an unbreakable bond between man and monstergirl, so she needs to pick her man wisely!
If it's a D&D universe, go and find a wizard, preferably of sufficient power to make the polymorph happen and be good and permanent.
And if you plan on doing this shit with other players, keep your magical realm in your pants, K?
>>47720942
Just don't, for the sake of everyone involved.
Monster girls are always part of a fetish. This is accepted wisdom.
If it weren't fetishy, it would be monster people.
If you were perfectly aware of this, and there's no reason you shouldn't, you should be honest enough to ask "How do I be That Guy?" in the OP.

Why isn't Eldrazi Tron a more popular Modern deck? You have insane searching potential with Ancient Stirrings, Sylvan Scrying and Expedition Map, literally a guaranteed Tron turn 3 everytime. I don't know what's meta right now but an early Ulamog/Ugin/Karn should wreck most decks.
