Dang it /tg/ let's roll up a knightly order from the Warhammer Empire. This will be our consolation until I decide to write a table for Sigmarines
What is the order’s age? (1d100)
Rolled 12 (1d100)
>let's roll up something!
>again!
>come on guys, this will be fun
It's official now: /tg/ is creatively bankrupt.
>>47893097
>Venerable: This order was founded in or around the Time of Three Emperors, an age of political instability when the great city-states rose to prominence, the province of Solland was crushed beneath the feet of greenskin hordes, and righteous Crusades were persecuted against Araby
We're fucking old.
What is the order’s religious affiliation? (1d100)

Lets kick this thread off!
Pic related is my new brew around kroalsan tusker. The idea is to play value creatures to ramp to a point when I can cast grim harvest every turn for extra value and start beating face with my 6/5.
Removal suite is a little of everything because im not sure yet what do I need.
Spicy cards:
Undying evil because when it works it's a bomb!
Yavimaya Elder: I was playing a Nissa's Pilgrimage because drawing 3 for 3 ia nice even if they are forests. But this one also attacks

Oh, the proxied cards are Echoing Decay and Gnaw to the Bone, because I don't have them with me now.

I don't have ADHD so I'm fine.
Pendulum killed the game for me
Its just so retarded. Oh you set two pendulums and now can just dump your hand on the field? Great. Once they're destroyed they go to the top of the extra deck where they can just be dumped again the next turn? Fantastic
Fuck that shit
I'm considering buying it, and based on what I've read it seems quite good, I just figured I should get some first hand opinions

Stop lying, you just wanted the monthly CTech bashing thread.
How do I get one of my player's Paladin to fall?
Trapdoor right under his feet.
setup a trap where either he kills a priestess of his faith inside a temple of his god or a city of downtrodden gets killed

Go through daily routine till the leaves turn orange and everyone suddenly has a heightened disguise stats
Who was your first character, /tg/? What were they like? Do you remember them fondly?
What about the campaign they were in?
Mine was a Dwarf Barbarian in 3.5, and I still roll one when setting appropriate.
Human cleric named Clerance MacManara
Short and scrawny little guy scared of his own shadow
Dick-ass rogue in 3.5e, switched to Pathfinder shortly after starting. I regret the inter-party squabbling/thievery I did but at least I got my That Guy shit out of the way early.
Years later I made the same-ish rogue in 5e as a smooth-talking party face instead of a dick-ass and had a much better time.
Dwarf Cleric named Thorvald. He tried to give a purpose to the party of murderhobos, but it ended up with him being turned to ash.
Well, atleast the warlock collected his ashes and gave him as proper dorf burial as he could.
What's the most brutal, one-sided asskicking you've ever recieved during your tabletop career?
>you're turned into ash.
Well, atleast my Dwarf Cleric saved the party with his sacrifice.

>playing Nechronica
>spend the whole battle rolling nothing but fours
>achieve fuck all, get my legs fried off and a whole fucking bunch of chunks out of my torso
>flee like a bitch, dragging myself away with my arms
Whe the DM doesn't reward you a gorillion Favor Points and free repairs to let you become broken, Nechronica gets pretty fucking brutal.
I played an old grizzled fighter that would use every dirty trick in the book to kill someone. He ended up joining an arena during the game and actually did pretty well since most of the competition was well below his skill level. Didn't even have to play dirty to beat them.
He earned a shot against the champion, who was the prideful sort of savage that wants a good fight. I knew he was good after watching a few of his fights and asking around. I tried to use that pride against him, thinking I had that figured out. I was fucking wrong.
Long story short, I...

Some questions to discuss:
How do you play LG without being lawful stupid? What about in a party with CN? CE?
Favorite paladin you've met or played? Have any paladins had a quivering faith that you thought was played well?
Favorite setup? Favorite Oath?
Etc. etc.

I was rolling in the Wild Magic with a Paladin that held Unicorns as the ultimate holy presence. We ended up locked in a mansion trying to escape some goons breaking down the door when, sure enough, my magic fucked up and the random effect table temporarily popped a Unicorn up next to us. The pally was basically frothing at the mouth losing his shit in joy, but the Unicorn was a cool dude and helped us out with preparing our escape. I hope that guy ends up with a Unicorn mount, it's a good motif.

>How do you play LG without being lawful stupid
I don't know why people have trouble with this. I know a literal aspergers player who can RP Lawful Good properly. You can avoid Lawful Stupid by not being stupid. I guess the important thing is play a character, not an alignment. I hear good-intentioned people say "roleplay your alignment!" but that's the wrong way to go about it IMO. Create the character according to the alignment, then roleplay the character....

With Automatic Bonus Progression giving you +Xs on your armor and weapons, are you allowed to trade some of those +Xs in for special abilities? Flaming, etc?
Spirit Whisperer Wizard 5 / Cleric 1 / Mystic Theurge 10.
Then 2 more level of Wizard and 2 more of Cleric.
Is this a good plan? The end result is 9th-level Wizard spell and 7th-level Cleric spell. But I don't have early level weakness of normal MT.
How do I necromancer? Is the best option just to roll cleric? Dirge Bard seemed neat and i really like the whole dancing the dead to life thing but waiting until level 10 to duplicate a 2nd-level spell by spending performance seems not great.
/tg/, I'm getting into wh40k because of peer pressure (and wanting to have good times over some beer and a game). But I'm really bothered by how bad engineering is in the 41st millennium.
Let's compare the ostensibly best flier in the game, the Crimson Hunter, to an old U.S. F-16. There don't seem to be that many advantages to the Crimson Hunter.
First of all, it's Armor 10. It's vulnerable to bolter rounds i.e. explosive AA bullets from the ground. This makes it arguably worse than the A-10 but we can say it's on par with the...

A squad of space marines can topple entire planetary systems. Thunderhawks are flying bricks that can not only keep pace with, but destroy space cruisers that reach dozens of kilometers in length. Landraiders can drive along ocean floors by design. Terminator armor can survive orbital re-entry without assistance.

I've heard that good GMs offer players puzzles during adventures.
Can anyone share a good example of a good puzzle? I've never had a GM that gave my party a puzzle.
>>47872299
What is love?
Zelda, Resident Evil, and old school adventures have a lot of good examples of how to do puzzles.
They typically break a certain level of the suspension of disbelief, because they're ornate and no one in their right mind would seal their military compound/mystical temple with puzzles a ten-year old could solve, but all a puzzle really needs to be is a short challenge that tests the mind a little.
Do not use puzzles.
Ever. EVER.
All they do is cause the game to come to a screeching halt while players beat their heads against a wall because they're too stupid to figure things out.
And they get mad, and you get mad, and no one has a good time.
