How would you make a love story between a human and a non-human not only an integral part of the campaign, but alsocute?
like this.

>The ship's pilot has a crush on the captain
>She's secretly an android

The prince and princess of a Human kingdom and a Non-Human kingdom have been paired off as part of an arranged marriage meant to bring the two kingdoms and races together. What makes it all so much sweeter is that the Prince and Princess genuinely love each other, have a deep desire for peace between their peoples and want to be with each other for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, there are groups within each kingdom that hate each other so much that they will do anything to prevent the marriage from taking...

RIGHT. So my gaming group got around to watching pacific rim again and now they want to play some ridiculous mecha campaign.
Any ideas as to which system we should use and why?
>>47814917
Mekton Zeta's a bit crunchy but acceptable. Not too sorted for monster on robot stuff, but if you use plus, you can build the kaiju as biomechs, essentially.
>>47814927
Daaaamn, that looks pretty good. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any more? maybe something less crunchy?
>>47814917
MZ is great ( get the advanced technical manual) for doing what ever you want. It is a bit heavy on rules, modifiers, etc, but not all that much more so than other RPGs of its time. I actually find that the different rolls you do for different weapons and and all the extra little rules are fun and make combat more dynamic. Also, the build system is really addictive, though it has a bit of a learning curve.

Topic of the thread!
Scenarios! What would you do for a DRAGON fight, or anything with a similar, large monster? How would you stat it?
>>47814770
I think someone on the official forums was doing that. Not sure.
>>47814770
I would have the dragon be sleeping in his lair full with treasure. Every action has a potential risk of waking it up and anything loud like combat would have twice the risk.

Ogres killed Bretonnia in AoS? I didn't know there were any ogres left by then.
Like really the hard part seems like replacing the hammers with Flur de lis
>>47814404
GW stopped making bretts and tomb kings forever
>>47814404
What said that? And yeah, ogres are still around because they sell well. They're also pretty cool.

You could just paint up the minis for fun you know. Maybe even field them as some proxy unit in WH:FB, like Grail Knights or Chaos Warriors.
This fucker right here.
First actually had one in a game when the GM decided to make him a big bad, being some slothish ruler of a cult in some Aztec-like ruins deep in some jungle that we spent multiple sessions trying to find info about and travel to.
We weren't even told it was a demon, we thought it was just the cult that was responsible for all the weird vegetation, spoiled water, and mutations, until we stepped into the throne room with piles of gold and heard our DM say "You hear a sloppy wet thump to the ground behind you as something seemingly...

Yes, that huge horrible dinosaur crab looks like it's nothing but a close combat rapebeast, but it's actually quite the diplomat and would love to talk.
If talks fail though, it's still a huge horrible dinosaur crab rapebeast.
My group has recently switched from Pathfinder to GURPS.
>In Pathfinder, Sleep is a 1st level spell with an AoE that can hit up to 4 targets from 25 feet away and takes 2 turns to cast
>In GURPS, Mass Sleep has several prerequisites, hits 2 targets 1 meter away for a large amount of Fatigue, and takes 5+ turns to cast if you increase the AoE and cost
Quite the difference, that. Perhaps I'm spoiled by the ridiculously easy nature of D&D magic.
Anyway, I like spellcasters, so I made one...

Magic in GURPS is more about staying in the back and being a "support" character than being a glass canon who's untouchable anyway because of blind/sleep/daze spam.
Hide behind allies, deal with long casting times.
>>47813151
Depends how it's fluffed and designed as an ability, really.
There is nothing stopping you from having "basic missile spells" as innate attacks that you can spam like a motherfucker. The price will be expensive if they are very good, but that's fair.
(All the moreso if you can just use it as much as you want basically all day long. Even with energy reserve or fatigue cost it can still be pretty good to just be able to make BANG BANG gestures with your fingers or shoot friggin lazer...

A lot of regular/area spells require you to be basically in melee range or you start taking nontrivial penalties, though.
Should I just be buffing allies, then?
Because the other generals are cluttered, and forums are too slow. AoS, 40k, etc. all welcome. Post your army list or idea for an army list below.

- Post what you want to do with your list (tournament, casual, etc.)
- Post the points limit
- Post the total cost of each model (for characters) or unit
- List the upgrades a unit has taken
- List the dedicated transports a unit has taken

I was kicking around the idea of running a Sister of Battle/Legion of the Damned army, and making it sort of a Heaven and Hell theme. So lots of Seraphim and Celestine on the Sisters side of things with Legion dropping in and providing fire support. Does anyone think this would be viable at 1500 pts?

LotD are basically just 3++ deep striking ignores cover SoB. SoB have so much melta that LotD really don't have a super necessary job. You might be better off just going pure SoB or taking a Librarius Conclave to give key SoB melta squads Ignores Cover, Deep Strike, Invisibility, and a 4++.

Tell me about your bandits, /tg/. What to do with them, what not to do with them. Memorable encounters, things that made them stand out, all that.
I want to make an encounter that'll challenge my players without really cranking up the health and damage on your standard brigand.

They're all gross weirdos who can't exist in society.
Obvious deformities, hilarious sexual depravity, vary from the gleefully deranged to the bleakly depressed; imagine if you gave a gang of iron-age frogposters from /pol/ swords and horses.
They molest livestock, steal whiskey and make general nuisances of themselves until they're killed by a roaming band of adventurers.
I consider this approach to approximate a form of warped realism.
How do you like your orcs tg?
My favorite is the warhammer fantasy kind, specifically the savage ones.
I like my orcs to be 300+ lb monsters with pre generally pre iron age technology.
The orcs being fungi In warhammer is also cool because the green coloration is explained as a way to get energy from the sun. The orcs warlike behavior is also perfectly explained by the spore method of reproduction.

I like 40k orks because they are not dindu rape apes. Instead they are a shining example of humor in a setting that takes itself far too seriously. Thank Gork(and Mork) for Orks.

How can I use Roman traits in a government or Corporation in a cyber punk setting?
>>47809301
Organization. Its the one great thing that made Rome so damn powerful. Say what you want about politics and emperors and HAIL MUH LEGIONS all you want, but in the end their roads, census' and diving up of lands to lesser kings and lords made them last for close to a millennium in some shape or form.
>>47809480
But how could that be applied to a corporation?
Expendability. it wasn't discipline that characterized Roman victories, it was a conquest-loop based on always being able to recruit reserves.

Now... I see this really backfiring against humans.
They think they're living in a magical realm where they can go fuck all sorts of different ladies.
But the converse is also true. You're going to get a lot of adventuring dudes getting corned by a grove of male ents with wood. And human males look an aweful lot like a female ent.
I'm just saying they wouldn't really be looking to KILL all humans.
Always think about the repercussions before entering any magical realm.

This was one of the few oglaf posts to do sorta well what SMBC always does. Pick a stupid/random concept of trope from somewhere and expand on its not usually explored logical consequences.
A world where all females look alike, and they happen to share mostly the stronger traits of human females, means that a guy just looks like a weird flatchested girl to them. Skin colored, but if humans have fetishes for blue chicks, chicks with pointy ears, and chicks with fire hair, not so crazy to think the other races...

Let's say you're making a new setting and you're only allowed to include six sapient races. What do you pick and why?
>>47849120
I'd probably focus on archetypes rather than races. Most of the time they're all stereotypes anyway so cut the middleman and make the forest folk tree people or whatever
I can't do six. I can work with seven, but not six.
Maybe six if it's a somewhat isolated area and there are others in far off countries, but it's not enough for the whole world.

If you're certain about that, then there's nothing to be done, is there. Just toll a D20 to pick the second legion. Or, more likely, don't bother with the second box. Let someone else do it.
Fluffwise, most loyalists work since the WB were at Isstvan V, Calth (and the rest of Ultramar), and Terra. It leaves out the Dark Angels and Space Wolves.
