should i put fusion blasters in my stealth suit teams?
>>43463964
beat me to it
>>43463990
Depends.
How much melta do you otherwise have? How much armour do you generally face? What do you want your stealth teams to be doing?
I generally take them, because I face a lot of 2+ saves and vehicles. But if you face a lot of hordes, that burst cannon is worth more, for less points.
Hell, I would almost prefer burst cannon to fusion gun against even MEQ spam.
Tell me /tg/, if you were an Overlord and were to build an Empire that has multiple races and cultures in it, how would you start it and how would you make it so that it will function well?
>Empire that has multiple races and cultures in it
>make it so that it will function well

first for muh hoksune
I'm a new player and I've learned a lot about the game by listening to podcasts, but I don't have any models yet. I really want to start out with mercs because they are just too cool. How fucked am I and in what ways?
Hows this look?

Can we get some stories or art of inspiring paladins, knights, or anything else? Things in the vein of compassion, duty, and sacrifice?
Thanks.

I think you're missing the point.
Tell me about that character you never got to play, /tg/
>>43463482
Martial artist who fights to avenge his master.
Fop who received a description of his 'one true love' from a sage, and has decided to scour the world for her.
Noble space opera commander whose subordinate is being pushed to marry him.
Naive, youthful paladin who sees the world in black-and-white, that non-demons are inherently good, and nothing can cause him to stray from that belief.
Female rogue who enjoys tasting the world's foods.
Exalted 2ed. Zenith caste Muscle Jesus.
Half-Cherokee gunslinger with magical abilities that they distrust in favor of their gun.
What are the biggest mistakes a newbie GM can make?
I've played with GMs who I had bad experiences with, but I've never had to see the game from their side of the table so its hard to make judgement calls on where they went wrong. As an up-and-coming first time GM, what are the biggest mistakes to avoid? What are the worst experiences you've had with GMs or as GMs, and how could they have been avoided in your opinion?
be shit.
being unprepared
being ignorant of the rules
being a lawyer
both punishable by law
I'm the only one that thinks Jews of the coast would have ruined less standard by printing enemy fetchlands instead of fetchables duals?
>>43463254
You aren't the only one. Enemy fetches would be way less cancerious than the current "run 12 fetches or go home" decks.
>>43463254
Next set, goyim.
>>43465776
>the current "run 12 fetches or go home" decks.
Or the current "run 4 Jace, Israël's prodigy or go home" decks.
Why do people play bad games?
Mostly cause it's a routine to do so.
Also because bad games with a good group can be fun.
Varies. Sometimes, they like the theme of the game enough that they feel it's worth it. Sometimes, they simply don't know any better.
>>43463206
Why do masochists enjoy pain?
Help me out /tg/
I'm trying to come up with a third evil monster faction for a campaign I'm doing. My idea is there's three groups, all ultimately serving one or other horrible lovecraftian god thing attacking the world.
The evil gods are very vaguely based on Hades, Posidon and Zeus, so a group from underground/hell (standard orcs and goblins and what have you with demons at higher levels), the group from the sea are Saxon/Viking/Sea People deep ones.
But I can't think of a group to be from the sky/storms and Zeus.
Any ideas?
Harpies,
Minotaurs,
Giants,
Cannibalistic Centaurs,
Remember you don't have to take a sky association over-literally. Any plains or mountain dwellers will do.
>>43463411
Why Cannibalistic rather than normal Centaurs
Standing on the massive stone platform you crafted for the Elven colony ship to sit upon briefly enables you to look out across the battlefield. The rolling hills that the remaining armies do battle on are the slowly skeletonizing remains of the fallen. The Nazis and the scorpion demons that you took control over are hardly able to maintain their defensive line now that the armies have been whittled down to just five armies.
The mages of the oceanic army constantly generate massive tidal waves to scatter their enemies and carry their troops forward. The scorpion demons...

Questionable Research
>Magical inversion – Hestia has been studying how to invert the magic of the curses and spells she knows. Unfortunately without greater understanding of how spells are actually created the main objective of this research has failed. Hestia did however create the ability to cast spells that result in an odd form of anti-magic. ‘Negative’ spells seem to have impressed the succubus mage, since they operate similarly to counterspells but are much more highly specialized. Hestia has determined by testing that negative elements...

>Colony ship restoration – Despite your impressive repair job the internal systems of the ship are severely damaged. The elves are resistant to Hestia’s drones entering the ship, so while external hull repairs have been completed the remaining repairs will take some time to complete. Hestia theorizes that the reason for the crash is the result of the elven colony ship’s propulsion system, nuclear warheads were used to accelerate the vessel but there are no systems in place to control the vessel at speeds of any significant fraction of the speed of...

Hello anons, before we start:What do you think of fallout 4 so far?
Mile woke up after a while. His nose was swollen, it made him look rather funny, his voice changed a bit from the impact "You cheap n-"
He stopped for a good reason. Richard's gaze petrified him, there were a lot of words and mixed emotions in this gaze "We already wasted enough time, let's go." Mile tried to brush it off quickly.
The group did continue walking on the ruined road for a couple of hour. None liked snow but it was ten times better than walking in an etched desert with the might of the sun scathing your back.
The...

Saw some leaked videos, opening looks good, the voiced protaganist thing doesn't look bad so far. Combat has definitly seen an improvement, and while the graphics arn't mind blowing amazing, they still look like an improvement from F3 and FNV. To me anyway.
>Player tells me point blank that he doesn't care about what the NPCs backstories are or why they're doing what they're doing and that he wishes that they were "at least twice as fast" to point us in the general direction of the next thing to fight
I hate GMing and I don't want to do it anymore
Shit I don't know why this is hitting me as hard as it is but what is the fucking point
>>43462455
It's because your player is an unappreciative cunt. He also wants a different kind of game, but he is a complete asshole about it, so if anything tell him to fuck off.
I don't care if you're friends since kindergarten, tell the faggot to go to someone else's game where he can kill shit and go on. Added benefit of your game becoming murderhobo-free.
>>43462455
It's okay, anon. People like that are just assholes and should probably be playing a different game.
It probably isn't your fault.
If it is only this one player, kick him out and find someone else.
>>43462455
Are you one of those faggot GMs who can't stop fapping over their NPCs? Because that sounds more like "fuck, stop reading us your fanfiction and get on with it!" than "i don't care abouit this game!1!"

I don't see her zombie dragon lasting very long on Jund. It's likely already being rotted from within by fungus's and slimes. The other dragons will see it as an affront to them and wipe her out in short order.
Plus I've never really liked "And I will have my vengeance" characters.
As for how the Shards have been interacting? The flavour text of Monstrous Carabid sums it up pretty nicely.

Yeah, there's almost certainly war between the shards, but I'm personally wondering whether we'll see them emerge as proper factions. While they had visual and cultural identities before, they didn't understand their situation well enough to set up proper factionalization--there was a lot of internal dissent and so on. And then, in Alara Reborn, everything sort of blurred together.
I wasn't playing when Scars came out. Was there any hint from OG Mirrodin block that Phyrexia was going to wreck their shit?
