Which one do you prefer?
>>43753418
Depends on the setting.
Lightsaber is better in every way, gunblade is just one of the most retarded shit nips have evere created.
>>43753418
Depends on setting, as always.

>nips invented paired melee/gun weapons
No. Just go away before you embarrass yourself any further.
You are Shee Hyul, rebel leader, psychic and Reunited. Your world is ruled by inhuman creatures and this has gone on far too long, it’s time to fight back.

“Or it could be a crazy vamp killing people” says Rainya indignantly, giving Kae a sharp look, Kae shrugs, as if she's not willing to push it.
Lirael just watches the exchange, finally Dev chimes in “either way” he says “It seems like Breaker is handling it, but giving everyone a heads up. Why should we get involved?”
Kaelyn grins unpleasantly and turns to you “Well Shee, are we going to rush in and right this wrong too?”
You give her a level look.
What are you doing today?

Could integrating the necklace fall under this? I kinda want to do that. If not then I'm down with the other experimental options.
>>43753419
I'd like to get FoL 9 and spend that vamp xp on the vampire willpower power we can get from Jade if some other anons wanna back it.Or on Ascension if we feel like adding more forms to the pile for eventual Mix n Match frankenforming.

Hi /tg/
How do you deal with playing characters who know more than you on certain things?
I'm playing a session of Feng Shui 2 later and my character will know a fair amount about guns, for an example, which I know nothing about. It will probably not come up at all, but it made me wonder about how others deal with it.
>>43753270
I don't know the specifics of Feng Shui, but isn't this what knowledge skills are for?
>>43753327
Feng Shui has knowledge skills, but I'm talking about role playing. When my character has a reason to talk about something from his field of expertise.
I guess I could say something like: [PC's name] takes one look at the bullet casing and sees it is from a gun frequently used by this gang.
>>43753270
You should probably take a chance to learn about guns. Consider when you pick a race you read the lore, so why not read up on your characters existing knowledge? I once made a char who knew akido as a martial art, to get in char I read up on the basics and watched some youtube videos. You dont need learn everything, roleplay leta you bullahit parts you dont but your char might.

What's /tg/'s opinion on the Dreadhold?
I find the price so ridiculously high for models that simply don't work without a full set that I can't even assess the model on it's own.
Question: What is a reasonable price I should charge to sell my Korgorath and the handler? I don't really like the miniature. It's still ine the sprue. Also, how could I sell it here in the UK? It's there any place where you can sell things and get credit to buy things instead of money? Because I was looking forward to try painting some mini of this Calth thing...
The new Achaon mini looks pretty mediocre.
I've GMed about three or four times in my life. Should I really give player so much exposition as pic related?
>>43753158
Maybe for, like, the first session when you're establishing things. Or deceiving a new liason for the first time, but even then my eyes glazed over after awhile.
Also - is this comic literally about playing D&D? He couldn't just tell an adventure story, the whole thing is viewed through a layer of abstraction?
If you want to set the theme and plot of the campaign, why not?
On the other hand if you're going to run murderhobo dungeon runs where characters are no more than the bonuses provided by their attributes, you don't need any.
If they like it, sure.
If they're more of the murderhobo justfight types, it would just slow down the gameplay.
On an unrelated note, Val gives me an adamantium boner.
Lands are going to look fucking stupid with the new colorless mana symbol.
>>43752650
Doesn't say devoid meaning it now has color
New symbol is a new color.
>>43752650
colorless mana =/= generic mana
I can't wait to cast Kozilek for 8 generic mana and 2 goatses.
>>43753172
This is the most retarded theory to come out of these spoilers
So I wanna try something out as a sort of experiment. Everyone post your three favorite fictional characters, and everyone else make assumptions and judgments about them based only on this.
This is for a game I am going to run. The three characters part, not the judgment part, I just thought the thread could also be fun.
I'll start. Let's say my three favorite characters are:
1. Deadpool (marvel comics)
2. The Joker(specifically Heath ledger)
3. Johnny the homicidal maniac (from the graphic novel of the same name)
>>43752553
You enjoy violence and destruction.
1. Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher)
2. Ser Duncan the Tall (The Hedge Knight)
3. Michael Carpenter (Dresden Files)
>>43752553
Kirito (SAO Abridged)
Batman (Batman)
Joseph Joestar (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
I'm guessing between 18 and 23, pretty bright and actually friendly and polite. I'd like to pick on you for being edgy, but those are all guilty pleasures of mine, so here's an internet high five instead. Now I don't feel bad posting my edgy actual favorite characters.
Boy Chimney, (Dial H)
Sweeney Todd
Zim ( bring the torches, bitches.)

I need your help /tg/. I need a system for mech combat (think mechs like heavy gear, humanoid, about the size of buildings and about as mobile as people instead of the hyper speed zipping around shit you see in armored core/gundam). What's a good system that isn't too slow but has the right mix of simple and complex?
Bump
>>43752085
Why not just use Heavy Gear? it's a functional rpg system after all
>>43752468
This, is there something about the Heavy Gear system you didn't like/didn't suit?
Tell me /tg/ if games workshop decided to make another Dawn of War title, What would you want in it?
>>43751785
A Starter army that you get with buying the game, you would need to select what starter army BTW.
Then keep everything as it is, Buy new models as transactions and paint them with a virtual painting thing.
Have some sort of kitbashing thing in as well.
>>43751785
More macro like DoW1 and SC. DoW2 was lame because it was just a slow as fuck failure RTS/MOBA hybrid with no building management.
>>43751785
can play as mecha Gabe
What games do you enjoy with persistent squad change over a series of games?
For example, in Mordheim and Necromunda, your squaddies not only level up and gain skills, but also receive injuries that effect how they fight. I really enjoy that sense of emergent narrative from the random (and tactical choice driven) elements, but it is hard to find folks to play Necromunda with because the models for it no longer exist (unless you count proxies). What other traditional games (miniature and otherwise) do you folks know of/enjoy along those lines? Any vidya game suggestions along...

This is really interesting to me, even though I don't have much to contribute.
Frost Grave does this, in a limited degree, with wizards establishing bases that alter the army sometimes, wizard injuries, leveling and spell gain/selling.
Xcom for sci-fi vidya that does this so well I cream myself, with permadeath.
The blackboard series has been enjoyable so far, dnd mixed with xcom kindanotreally but it's squad based turn based tactical with leveling.
>>43751640
Blackguard series, sorry. Its vidya
The Mordheim PC game which was recently released is a pretty faithful reinterpretation of the tabletop game. It has really in depth squad building and character customization, as well as a mix of random skirmish maps and story missions. It's also brutally hard, and is utterly unafraid of murdering or crippling your guys. It's a bit pricey, so I might wait for a sale, but I got it cheap in Early Access and I'm kinda loving it.
What makes this game so much better than chess? Everyone seems to be obsessing over it these days. How is the strategy different? General hnefatafl thread

What are some things that could the way the world is dramatically? Some things to make stuff set on Earth a bit more interesting. Alternate history or predicted future, all things are cool.
Like the Atlantropa project, a series of dams and canals to drain the Mediterranean 200 meters and gain new land for Europe and Africa, coupled with a series of dams in Africa to fill the Chad basin, flooding a lot of Africa, creating a naval route from the Mediterranean to central Africa, and using this water to irrigate the Sahara.
The idea was first conceived in the 1920s...

Alright, good thread, thank guys. Though on the topic of Hitler, his plans for New Berlin were pretty great.
So, you all hate That Guys, but have you ever been one? Here's my story:
>party just defeated a higher-up servant of the bbeg in an encounter that lasted almost all session
>we get a single wish
>it takes the form of a crystal amulet or some shit
>later that night, when we're in camp
>i quietly steal the amulet
>rogue notices, soon entire party chases after meComment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Sounds like you all deserve to have to game with each other.
So your party roleplayed raping a little girl version of you? You should probably find a new party to play with.
>>43751137
Our campaigns tend to focus on the comedic stuff, but I'll admit that that was a little out there. It was mostly the GM who described it all, with the party members saying shit like, "I stab her in the neck"
Sup fa/tg/uys my party just got 2 wishes from a Djinn for freeing it from its prison. We have to use 1 of the wishes to obtain a specific item for a quest, but the other wish is open for the party to choose... So what should we wish for?
Airship. It's specific enough to not fuck you over, and name a problem that can't be solved with one
