I've been reading this and it seems interesting so far. The rules are easy and the setting seems fun. What are /tg/ thoughts of it?
>>43793998
I've played it, and I like it. It's probably the first system I have ever seen that embraces the common desire among players to advance the technology level of the world and play civilization, and merges it with more traditional adventure.
The main dice mechanics is kinda -death-spiraly, especially in combat, and using your mutants powers comes with the risk of permanently fucking yourself up. I normally don't like such mechanics, but it fits the theme and setting of the game so well that I don't mind.
Also, what little shred of patriotism i have compels me to ask: Are you Swedish too or are foreigners actually taking an interest in this game?
>>43793998
Are there mutant aardvarks?
For games that roll pools of dice, which do you prefer? d6? d10?d12
Do you have a preference? Why?
d4 or go home
d10 dicepools tend to work best, IMO. The 1-10 range is a nice, mathematically simple degree of variation, with enough swing for results to matter but without the absurd highs and lows of D20/D% stuff. Of course dicepools can spread that chance all the more, but d10s also lend themselves to various interesting dicepool mechanics which would be less viable without the simple decimal number set.
I'm going to vote d6.
For practical reasons, they are cheaper and easier to come by.
For aesthetic reasons, I think they make a better clatter on the table and feel better in the hand. Since they fit well against each other, they also take up less space. Perhaps because I'm a wargamer as well, I find something inherently satisfying about dropping a boatload of d6s on the table.
For mechanical reasons, if all you need is a binary pass/fail, then you don't need anything more complicated or granular. If you are fooling with anything that adjusts the number being rolled against, then each shift is more important (16% vs 10%). If you're doing any kind of exploding dice or 1s=Bad, d6s will make that happen more often and make that mechanic more likely to come up in play. Of course, if you want the 1s/explosions to come up less often, or you want TN shifts to have a smaller impact, then these are obviously negatives.

You and Elia slowly inch your way closer to the aurochs herd, staying low in the grass. You spot a cow slightly more separated from the herd and you silently sign to Elia that she is your target. Closer and closer, you edge into range of your javelins and Elia fits a stone into his sling. Just as you are about to rise however, disaster strikes! The wind changes and as one mass, the aurochs lift their heads and catch your scent. There's...

You and Elia bind your injury as best you can. The cut may not be deep, but the sheer impact of the massive beast's bulk has cracked and bruised your ribs badly. You will suffer -1 to your strength until they heal. With no other choice left in the face of your injuries. You are forced to return to the clan.
You slowly make your way back up the valley to the clan. Beren sees your injuries and just shakes her head, after she hears your story of how you got them. "And you didn't even win? What...

What the fuck am I reading?
Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, boarded a ship headed towards a strange new land with the intent to save his country from war. After meeting the colorful characters that make up his compatriots, he pushed his ability to learn skills quickly to the limit by aiding the sailors in guiding The Skipping Stone through a deadly storm that claimed the lives of three men before it subsided. Now, tired and weary, Alan heads to his cabin to sleep.

You wake up the next morning to the sound of a sailor knocking on your door, signaling the wash basin has been left outside your door. Your muscles still feel sore from yesterday's exertions. You look around and see many of your personal belongings scattered about the room by the storm. You spend a few minutes tidying up before grabbing the wash basin and scrubbing yourself as clean as you can manage. You think about what you're going to do today. You don't have any ship duties, being a passenger,...

Writing!
Do you lot consider the expanded Lovecraftian lore canon?
>>43793756
YES! Robert Bloch was a Machiavellian master of meticulously-crafted monstrosities!!!
If it doesn't include Nyaruko or Demonbane, yes.
>>43793756
I don't really consider there to be a unified canon in the first place.
I thought the point was that each of the stories was just using thematic elements from the other. There isn't a continued narrative or anything.

Daily reminder, Enclave Best Clave
I spend half an hour judt formatting my fuckin list.

Het fa/tg/uys, I've been playing D&D and other RPGs for years, but I've never played a drow before.
I'm having trouble coming up for a backstory for a NG dark elf druid that isn't cliched. This is in a homebrew setting, so there's room for quite a bit of artistic license in terms of drow origins.
Any ideas you've got would help a bunch.
Thanks!
ithis will be a hot drow thread while wait for responses

Hey /tg/ in my setting there is a carnivorous sentient race, what can they use as travel rations? is there something that can be made with meat besides salting?
>>43793085
Smoked/Dried meat/fish or jerky would be the most obvious solution. Also frequently used in real life.
>>43793085
Jerky/dried meat?

jerky is salted and dried meat.

For such an opulent mansion it's pretty far out into the sticks. The only road leading into the mountain was an old access road from the days when this part of the mountain used to belong to the owner of a long since abandoned lumber yard.
The exterior of the house is decrepit, but it is clear to you that it must once have been a thing of great majesty. Even now, with its ornaments all but gone and the once bright colours cracked and faded, the sheer size of the house fills you with wonder. The front entrance doors alone, two monolithic pieces of wood, dwarf you...

Let's check the grounds. Might be something neat. We can peek in the windows too.
Since there was a Fallout Robot Civ a few days ago I figured why not try the same with the biggest and the strongest of the Fallout Universe, The Super Mutants. Mild for Fallout 4 regarding the origins of the Commonwealth Super Mutants but don't worry it doesn't impact the main plot of the game.
Anyway, the five of you, another batch of super mutants created by The Institute, an advanced secret society, and among their many experiments has been trying to replicate the FEV viral compound that created the original super mutants. You are all just another batch...

>>43792780
Euuuuurgh. Fuck yes you got ripped off.
I was invited to a gaming bar in London, called "the Loading Bar" and it was full of geeks and board games and videogames and puns.
Rules were, you buy a drink (£8 each which is about 1.5 normal drink price),you grab either one of the board games they had stocked (a whole bookcase full) or grabbed something from the video games library, and play on a table until closing time. It was full of MTG and catan and some RPGs and fighting games and again, £8 per head.
Great place if you were OK with the puns. €37 is a complete and utter rip off.

MY LIFE FOR VEGETA
Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place shortly after the war against the Tuffles, as the Saiyans look for more foes to battle in the absence of their old enemies.
Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.
Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)
During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.
If a 100 is rolled, it is...

It occurs to me, if my dialogue was chosen last thread to boost the DC to 100, we may have zenkai'd above Rug for the beating she'd have given us.
So I got a question.
Chaos is all about shoving random mutations into their followers that prove themselves until they eventually either devolve into Chaos Spawn or ascend as a Daemon Prince, right?
Then why is it that some of their greatest champions, the named characters of the book, never have any mutations? Even the named characters who do have mutations often only have one or two, rather than the dozens that you traditional Chaos Lord or Sorc is often shown to have.
>>43792127
Certain mutations just aren't apparent, and one even makes it so nobody but a psyker or more corrupt champion knows you are a bloated monstrosity with seven nipples for a mouth
>>43792127
What is with the chemistry joke?
>>43792194

>>43792163
Sure, but even then, a huge majority of them are basically just ugly humans. When you compare that to shit like guys that are totally fused with their weapons, are human/animal hybrids, etc, etc. Like, how the hell is Kharn not sporting a shitload of mutations?
Can any swedefags tell us about this game, how it plays, what the world is like?
Why don't you check yourself?

The game system is pretty light but it have many abilities with least 3 tier level. The GM don't need to roll the dices because player make both rolls for attacks and defenses.
The setting itself take place in new kingdom after the war with black mages. The old kingdom beome corrupted with evil magic and the earth become unusable for farming.
You can play as one of the four races, human, changeling (elf that raised up in human society), ogre and goblin. You can choose one of the three classes,...
