Making a location is really easy. The trick is to make it vivid and focus on what matters to the game. By keeping the details vague and writing down only what the players can discover everything comes together really fast. Nondescript goon stats can plug into any NPC should combat become necessary, no need to worry about it just yet.

YOU KNOW THE DRILL!

Are we archiving these somewhere? I'd hope we'd put them on 1d4chan or someplace.
You are Takashi Wakui, a sixteen year old Japanese high school student. In your world, half of humanity possesses a Persona—the corporeal manifestation of one’s personality as a supernatural entity. You had been an unlucky ordinary at first, lacking the potential to summon your Persona. Then the application AETHER was forcibly installed on your smartphone. It sucked you into the nightmarish realm of the Blackened Void, where you fought monsters and awakened your Persona in the process.
You are now the Wild Card of the 22nd Century. You possess the Fool Arcana, giving you the power to draw strength from bonds and wield multiple Personas at once. Already this places you in great danger, as the Fool Arcana is seen as an impossibility by the common masses. Revealing your newfound power to the common world would immediately land your head on a dissection table. To make matters worse, you and several others have been cursed as the Void’s Chosen, fated to traverse the wastelands of the Blackened Void until the end of the game. For what purpose does AETHER exist, what mysteries lie within and how is victory achieved?

“Oh my, oh my. You seem rather shocked at this turn of events, guest. Are the consequences of your actions not obvious? Neglect a bond and it shall be strained. That is why cracks on the edges of the card represent. See how the image within has begun to fade into void? In the opening stages, the destruction is faint, but grant it time and the bond shall wither, shrivel up and ultimately perish.
“See the way you pick up the card, inspect it with the terror in your eyes and whisper the name of the girl under your breath. It is really quite picturesque. Alas, a capturing...

“Though their grudges are evidently childish, do not underestimate the impact they possess. Hee hee, another concept that you already understand, correct? All you have to do is ask your dear older sister.
“Aah…is that animosity I detect? It almost borders on the intent to kill. Oh dear me, I believe I am about to faint. Your older sister is a sore spot of yours? Duly noted, guest.
“Now for some good news, guest. The bond of Death has yet to reverse or break. There is still time for you to repair it with the girl. You had best hurry. What is the time in...

“Where do the demons in the Forlorn Abyss originate? From the Collective Unconsciousness, of course. Were you not listening, guest? Demons have their own wills and purposes. It may be in your best interest to understand them, if only because it shall make it easier to slay them.
“Some aspects of the Collective Unconsciousness desire to influence the personalities of humanity. But the chosen individuals must strong in the body, the mind and the soul. Otherwise, control will be lost over the Persona. When that occurs to a great extent…well, I would not want to spoil...

My beef here is everything they're saying is something the reader can infer themselves.
It just doesn't sound like a natural conversation. They're either justifying things to each other for no real reason or just providing rote summaries of what's going on around them.
I like both of these characters but Rich isn't really using their personalities here.
I've defended a lot of Rich's wordiness, but this one has me on the meme train. There is nothing of substance here.
Alright /tg/, you've just been retconned out of this life and forceably crammed into the Star Wars universe.
Now a few things are certainly about to happen to you. You are going to be born/hatched/spawned with a reasonably high force sensitivity. Not Anakin or Yoda high, but lets assume you''re pretty naturally in tune with that old mystical energy force.
The second and third thing that will happen is that the Jedi will find you, and that your deadbeat parents will give you up. You are now a member of the Jedi Order. Your dressing gown, spaceship...

I think I'd do pretty okay, unless I found myself in one of the "no fun allowed" eras (so as long as its not the prequels or bioware bullshit), and even in those I can just run off to Corellia, trade my brown robes for green, and be chill.
Either way, I figure I'd do a lot of wandering.
NJO era, I'd go looking for caches of lost knowledge, and finding those with potential and directing them towards the Praxeum.
TotJ, do what all the Jedi did back then, be basically a knight errant,...

Personally I think I'd do alright, not great, but alright.
I'll get dumped in the Clone Wars era, just because I don't want to get accidentally eaten by Nihilus in the Old Republic Era.
Have a personal history with martial arts so I know how I handle that kind of discipline. Knowing how I handled Tae Kwon Do and Judo, I'd probably get a bit sick of running drills and patterns and forms when I had to do them too long and be far more eager to get down to sparring. Probably end up being better at saber to saber combat than not as a result, that...

After that probably go back to wandering, maybe bounty hunt on the side. Keep my saber hidden except for emergencies and switch to a staff and some blasters of something. Help the Rebellion on the DL without putting myself into the limelight.
Maybe settle down, have some kids, just chill out when the wander lust fades. Somewhere chill and out of the way, maybe I could get a pipe.

I'd do alright, I wouldn't change the galaxy or anything, but I'd like to think I'd...

Has gender change ever been used not awfully in a roleplaying game? Is there any justification for it to exist other than magical realming shit?
>>47991753
It makes for a good 'baby's first cursed item' for new-ish players. No actual mechanical impact that puts them at a disadvantage, and forces them out of their comfort zone for a while because it demands recognition and response from an RP perspective.
It also teaches a valuable lesson to new players that sometimes things will happen to your character that they won't be happy with, but they have to deal with it anyway. If your group can't handle that, then you basically can't...

>Has gender change ever been used [...] in a roleplaying game?
To a first approximation, no. Statistically speaking, gender change approximately never comes up in an actual role-playing session, and when it does it's for a joke. Actual serious plot use or magical realming occurs so rarely it's not worth having general opinions or emotions about; it's like getting opinionated about the national epidemic of being struck by lightning.
Also, it's a good...

Which class/path is best for a pet class?
>>48033967
There really isn't one...having a pet doesn't really work. The closest you're going to get is probably a conjuration wizard, maybe a druid that specializes in all the summoning spells.
>>48034026
This. Summoning is the best way to have a pet mechanically. I like lore bard just to steal the best conjure spells from each list.
>>48034255
Yeah, that can work.
For me, though, there's nothing more fun than a wizard conjuration demonologist...I just love it.

Wizards made Sorin a designated villain so they wouldn't feel bad about killing him off at the end of the block. Sure, they had to contradict the fuck out of his established character, and pull some seriously convoluted bullshit out of their asses, but who cares? They get to kill off a character they arbitrarily don't like, and the fangirls won't care at all!
