there is something that feels bad when shooting down a troll or a dragon with revolvers and rifles.
Which are some monsters that would look cool in a late XIX century america setting? I don't mind they're accurate mythically or not, but I'd like things that are fun to shoot at.(I can't believe you we're gonna say Indians, anon. You're sick)

Werewolves?
Werewolves and vampires have been done. How about some kind of troll or bog monster for some musketmen to slog through the marshes to hunt.

>online GMs
>good GMs disappear without a word 0-2 sessions into the game
>bad GMs linger forever, never fess up to doing something wrong, never take feedback on improving the game
>personally GM multiple times a week, point out whatever I do wrong in retrospect, and constantly ask for honest feedback on how to make my games better
>this is what I get in return
How do you find a good online GM who can last...

keep trying until it hurts and then some?
>>43944035
Keep trying. We are out there, but most give up after some awful experiences.
I gave up on online GMing for a year after I got two groups back to back who flaked on the first session. All of them.
>>43944035
What makes a good GM/player varies from person to person. All you can do is keep trying until you find someone who fits. I've never flaked on a game in my life, but I have left countless ones. I've met tons of people who love my GMing, and just as many who've run away trailing a cloud of insults.
Part 2 of an ongoing quest
You are a party consisting of Colonial marine number 12672 (CMN), a big tiddied predator huntress (BTP) and a xenomorph waifu lady that was seduced by the marine (LXW)
You're in a bit of a pickle. Stuck in an alien hive and with BTP being impregnated facehugger style just there now you have a few options to start:
>Press on. We'll deal with the parasite when it comes
>Get LXW to give her a deep, DEEP kiss to try to pull the egg out
>Surgery...

So, I'm thinking of trying to get back into wh40k. Tips? Help me pick an army? Etc?
>>43943769
Step one: pick the army you think looks the coolest
Step two: assemble and paint
Step three: play a game
>>43943769
Imperial guard or space marines.
1) Don't.
2) It got worse while you were gone.
3) Unless you have an army of Wave Serpents.
Can we gather some small dungeons so we can print them and have them prepared for running games at anytime? Not full modules, I'd prefer small, evocative things that can be modified through play
DW's dungeon starters are also fine for me.
Micro modules are nice, for mining ideas if nothing else
>>43943836 I like to use them as plot hooks. Should the players step on it, I have something to follow until a new idea arises.
Hey, what do you call this thing?

One Question:
Have you ever ran into a unit that you can't not think of taking?
>>43943480
There are plenty of camouflaged TAGs. There was only one living artillery shell TAG.
I want to do a quick alignment check of /tg/.
Think of your last character, then answer this question:
Is it more important that people do the right thing or that people be allowed to do what they want?
It's important that people leave him alone and don't bother him.
>>43943444
The former. It's just that the right thing is to burn the heretic, exterminate the xenos and oppress the masses.
>>43943444
But anon, the right thing is that people should should be allowed to have agency, and use it for (hopefully) good or ill
What's the use case for playing DnD5e instead of games that are pretty much the same but do the same thing better, other than "hurr I wanna play the latest edition of DnD"?
Gridless combat and heroic fantasy? 13th Age already has you covered, is better balanced, and is cheaper for a complete game - and has an SRD.
Gritty fantasy and shitfarming? Shadow of the Demon Lord is now out in physical form as well as PDF, and has all the 'grit' you want, as well as somehow being both less crunchy than 5e, yet more 'tactical'.

Normies and casuals don't understand there are traditional dice RPGs that are not D&D.
>>43943371
I don't blame them. It's pretty much the only RPG referenced on TV, it's one of the only games still sold in stores, I don't blame them.
It's the people who know other RPGs exist, who go on message boards like this one, that I'm asking.
>>43943352
Why are you so upset by what other people enjoy?
Sup, /tg/, what interesting races do you have in your setting? Share 'em, brah!
I'm thinking about introducing Octopuses as a race.
It's said they have a mighty kingdom under the waves, but most of them live in solitary. A lot of them have migrated to the land for various reasons. They walk slowly, speak the common tongue and don't wield more than 2 weapons because they otherwise lose grip or balance.
They keep their arms free of burden but almost always decorate their head.
What do you think? Any ideas?

Why would the Royal Spymaster be some low punk from the streets?
>>43943183
Because he is just THAT good.
I'm going to start something of a campaign involving the Korean Three Kingdom Period, specifically relating to the 4th century.
Does anyone know of any good resources I can use to gather information on: population, demographics, settlement information, prominent peoples of the time and just general information.
Books, blogs, websites, journals ,etc would be a great help.
>>43942816
Have you tried asking on /his/? That might be a better place to get resources.

Asking a legitimate question on /his/ is like trying to discuss anything on /pol/
History semi-nerd and Korean here. Where do you want to start
So, I'm sure we all remember playing Pokemon Master Trainer Boardgame as a child. A question for anyone who might better understand the rules than my group of friends.
Player 1 gets an event card that allows them to fight a mystery/yellow creature, and player 1 flips one, revealing Mewtwo, which requires a dice roll of 6 to capture.
Player 1 then reveals an item card from his hand, Master Ball, which can add a 1/2/3/4 to his roll. Player 1 rolls a 3, and adds 3 to his roll, resulting in a 6.
Player 2 reveals Time Machine Item card, which states: Play this...

It's the same roll with all modifiers. They just hit reset but the master ball def still works as this is a re roll not a new one
I think player 1 is wrong, at least how I used to play it.

How would your last character convince Phillip Dollarfield to care about saving the princess?
>He does not care about saving the princess
>He would much rather be surfing on a cheetah or something else that's cool
>He is comfortable with his sexuality and manhood, and doesn't care about relations with the princess
>He is the only one who can save the princess

Dominate Person or Geass.
Go save the princess.
I'll be his princess if he saves the princess.
Break each of his limbs until her cares. Then break some more just to be sure.
Welcome to Nip Quest, or Japanese Quest, no matter how you want to say it, we're starting this quest! You're assuming the role of a lowly merchant thief, who takes what isn't barred down then attempts to sell it back for outrageous prices. As you might expect, living on the lamb is hard, and when someone approaches you, you claim that it's for your wife and kids, despite you being an unmarried man. Most people know you as scum, a bottomfeeder, and a lowlife. Others who are oblivious of your actions see you as a reliable trader who has good stock and good...
