So how good is Farsight at sword fighting fluff-wise anyway ?
Did he ever duel any named character ?
He's a tau. He's shit by default
>>43966322
Its 40k, there is no consistency. He'd beat a Musketeer-inspired Keeper of Secrets using a whole Bloodthirster as a sword in one source, then lose to a Cultist with a toothpick in another.
>>43966322
Farsight trained himself in the style of the swordmaster Aun'shi.
Farsight killed many of marines in melee, killed Grog Irontoof, and managed to duel the Swarmlord to a standstill.
ITT: The best systems you've ever played.
Pic related, I love the Storyteller System.
Also this thread is inspired by >>43930668
P.S.: I want to try new systems.
I want something exciting, but Storyteller was my first RPG system, and I'm not sure what to play next.
>>43966320
Some extra info about my choice:
Storyteller gives a good balance between crunch and fluff, rules and freedom.
While I know many people hates it because the GM has too much power to decide what to do in unique situations, I have no problem with this whatsoever.
Every game has issues like this.
Also Storyteller was a good system for a beginner like me.
It's just comfy.
When I read D&D and Pathfinder books, I saw limitless rules - and every little action required too many...

Meet the best universal system for lapsed wargamers, people with huge miniature collections and people who just wish all the polyhedrals in a set got more love. Also, I happen to think nWoD's rules are far superior to oWoD's. But going further into it would be too negative for this thread

>Also, I happen to think nWoD's rules are far superior to oWoD's. But going further into it would be too negative for this thread
Not at all.
In fact, I'm open to discussions like this.
I usually say that cWoD's fluff is superior to nWoD's, but it's possible that nWoD's crunch is the superior one.
My only problem is with nWoD books is that they're ugly (yes, it's an aesthetic problem) and a bit confusing.
I like...

Alright so I hope this thread shouldn't be in /r/ but I'm not usually on this board but I feel like it's most relevant here.
How do i get into D&D? Are online tabletop D&D sites or just online tabletops made for all games worth trying?
One of my friend groups from college all love D&D, and I've always been more a single player PC only RPG fan, however my friends and I would make up fantasy stories and they keep asking me to DM or whatever for them (I lied and claimed I was "familiar" with D&D). I'm pretty good at story creation and dealing with ad-libed stories, responses to my stories, and the wtf D&D on somethingawful, but that's it.
Should I just dip out or should I learn? If I want to learn is there a good way to? I assumed I'd watch some people play online tabletop D&D on Youtube or twitch or whatever, but I feel like I'd probably need a primer too.
I guess general thread for new D&D players too.
>>43965831
You should watch videos if you don't know what it is at all, but if you're gonna do it you're going to need to get the rulebook of the edition you're gonna play and read through it to familiarize yourself with the rules.
>>43965867
I'm guessing I'll ask the group which book they use, but is there a commonly considered "Best Version" that online communities like more?
>>43965906
Don't start this shit, even unintentionally. That's a Balkanized landscape of strongly held opinions. Essentially the best edition is whatever your group is all comfortable playing. The best parts of the game (roleplaying and chilling with friends) are all independent of the system anyways.
I don't get why the Emps picked him to be top dog among the Primarchs. Guilliman and the Ultramarines were the beast tacticians. Dorn and the Fists were the most loyal and Imperium loving to where Emps only fought alongside them. Sanguinius and Magnus were the physically and psychically most powerful. Vulkan and his Salamanders were the most human and got along the best with everyone (Sang was kinda like that, too.)
>>43965672
Horus was the only one who could get all those shitheads to work together.
Sanguinius was a close second, but probably too self deprecating and humble for it.

Hey guys, let me know when you are here. Also, ideas for the syren? (siren? not sure)
Zoe lewds reporting.
>>43965095
The siren is going to need a name. Also some way to keep her from being attacked by adventurers.
>>43965119
That reminds me, should we have the beastkin have a.. uhmm i dont know the english term. You know, a breeding season at some point in the year.
>>43965137
yeah i was thinking that if we dont add her to the menagerie, its going to be uncomfortable in several ways really, since you guys want her to come along. To begin with, won't she need her own room and space and such?
Also, taking suggestions for names
Despite being a slight annoyance the wafting odor of apple pie doesn’t seem to correspond to any mischief. Scorpion demons and scorpion demons hammer on the protective barrier your domain exerts at its edge. Dealing with the merfolk was unpleasant and you may have left a bit hastily, but at this point you wouldn’t be surprised if in the universe was conspiring to keep you away from this part of hell.

You are Jareth, Disciple of Elshhu and man with a growing list of enemies despite your sunny and, if you may say so yourself, charming personality. The latest one, a gang of unknown power with a distinctly necromantic bent, most likely has something to do with the siblings you adventure with.
If you were to put two and two together, you'd guess that Iden and Razi are hiding from the gang, and somehow the vague divination you paid for managed to trip the gang leader's violent counter-scrying magics and result in some of the gang members being sent after the...

"I'm interested," you say firmly, "but I need some time to think, some time to consult my compatriots and tend to our wounded, and, if we're being honest, access to a warm bed, a working kitchen, and some supplies."
"What sort of supplies?" Kells asks, curiously.
"Probably quite a few depending on the plan," you admit, "but right now? The kind where I killed these animals less than a day ago and I need to preserve the meat. Or sell it."
"Miss Burns, about three doors down from the Mercy Hut,...

Kells's house is, as he points out, right along the waterfront; the only nod to his position that you can see from the outside is a battered sign that reads 'Visitors Inquire Within Or At The Docks', swinging from chains just above the front door. You pocket the key and stand, shaking the old pirate's hand by way of farewell.
Amy is awake when you make it back to the Mercy Hut, though she looks like she's been through eight shades of hell. Which, admittedly, you did get her to drink...

Is Submission preferable to Extinction?
>>43962637
Yes. With submission exists the possibility of improvement of your lot, or liberation in the future. With extinction there is no future.
>>43962637
by definition yes, or else we would already have become extinct and/or become extinct the moment the submission is forced upon us by collective suicide.
>>43962661
This is one of those moments where it's clear that Player Characters are in fact not rational humans because of how easily they choose suicide over the alternative that makes them seem less cool.
Last time we had an awesome thread about remaking Naruto.
Let's continue the work and get some shit done.
Here is the wiki page:
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Gene_Soldiers
We had agreed on using Shadowrun as the base for the game but as far as I know have yet to start.
Last time it was decided that along Ninjas also a number of Samurai and Monks existed. Monks were heavy ninjutsu specialists. They could accomplish powerful chakra feats but are not trained in the military field as ninjas.
Samurai got two suggestions:

things that really annoyed me:
> Shinobi is all about hiding and tricking the enemy. We have a caln of ninjas woth byakugan that see thorugh everything in every direction.
>Shinobi guard carefully new techniques and try to make sure they never leaves the village/clan. Sharingan can copy and memorize any technque.
TO solve this problems I say this: The byakugan and Sharingan are very rare mutations. For this reason the Konoha tries to make the Uchiha and Hyuga can as big as...

Am I wrong, or is there a cyberpunk vibe going on? If so, instead of having villages, corporations would work a lot better, with the shinobi acting as the corporations' operatives and the samurai as their security. It's even better if the corporations own and rule small countries, with the hidden villages being their training centers.
Another thing I dislike are elemental affinities.
Like all chakra turn primarly into 5 elements.
One each elemets have like 4-5 different attacks. Small projectile of element, big projectile of elements, dragon made of elements, clone of elements.
Also everything that is mix of two elements is restricted to a very small Kekkai Genkai. IMO Ice should be more used on the battlefield as well
Does /tg/ like gothic horror setting?

It isn't generic Tolkien-clone fantasy, Generic 80's cyberpunk, or Literally Star Wars, so no, probably not.
