Age: 735
Location: Unknown, uninhabited planet
Information: After defeating a band of Frieza soldiers lead by an elite named Cui, Daikon and his allies found themselves pursued by the brutal and powerful Zarbon and Dodoria. When confronted, Daikon was able to tap into the strange source of power from before, and defeated Zarbon despite the latter's transformation. Dodoria attempted to flee, but was shot down and soon killed. Now, Daikon and his team find themselves wondering what Frieza will send their way next.
Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place in the years Frieza controlled Planet Vegeta, as the Saiyans grow in strength and try to find a way to free themselves.
Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.
Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)
During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.
If a 100 is rolled, it is considered...

With the pods of Zarbon and Dodoria sent back to where they came from, and transmitting false messages to Frieza stating that you and the other Saiyans have been destroyed, you believe that you'll remain safe for the time being.
Kamatsuna has transported you and the others off the world where you confronted Zarbon and Dodoria, and your ship now heads toward Planet Afhan, which you hope to rebuild after Cui's attack.
"I don't see why we're bothering with this dump anymore," Rugula comments as she paces across the bridge. "Most...

>D. Oh yes abandon the world that feed our armies and our ability to conquer. A strong empire can hold out against a strong few soldiers. Look at Frieza and his family.

I put Africa in my game world but made everyone white.
The land, animals, and some of the cultural elements are cool but the people are trash.

Because in the settingof my bookAfrica as a continent is largely irrelevant because it is halfway across the world, and the African Union (the dominant government) only interacts with the setting in a cursory, exploratory fashion due to the size and impracticality of anything else, including conquest.
Far, far more important are the New Confederacy, the Cuban Socialist Republics, the Nueva Mexica, the Sabinites, the Mississippi River States, the Republic of Texas, the East Texas Empire, and Fort...

Mongoose Traveller thread
Problem: Due to lucky rolls in char creation and some implants, my players are practically rolling for Effect now. Combat is now simply 'Who rolls for higher damage faster' and the players always win because 90% of the time they're just rolling for Effect. How to mitigate this? Or not?
Also I'm plum running out of Traveller adventure ideas. I've tried dipping in Shadowrun and Star Wards adventures but was wondering if anyone had anything cool they ever ran.

Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, set out on a rescue mission with the rest of his team, bonded with his loyal steed and successfully ambushed a patrolling war party of Island orcs. He is now in the process of extricating himself from beneath a very heavy body.

“Uhhhhhhhh”. The noise escapes from your lips as you try to push the orc's corpse off of you. He's trapped your arms and you don't have the proper leverage to throw him off. Thankfully you see Rowe approach you and rush to help.
Together she helps you roll the orc off of you and into the riverbed. She gives you a hand to pull yourself up. You quickly check your stuff. Your familiar was almost crushed and drowned, but you open up the satchel quick enough to pour out most of the water. Muffin looks very upset. It's a good thing you didn't have...

might be kind of a silly topic but what is your favorite rulebook, players manual etc? Doesn't have to be a good system just one you love having. can be because of the way it looks on the shelf, page formatting or whatever reason.
I've always kind of liked the DnD 3.5 books because each one feels like some kind of tome.
The current edition of L5R books are gorgeous. Too bad their binding is so terrible.
Labyrinth Lord's are one of my favorite, information is formatted compact and nicely.

Earthdawn first edition. The game has issues, and nobody I know is actually willing to play Earthdawn, and I wouldn't be playing 1st edition anyway, but from a pure book perspective it's great. It's from an era when books had to be tight, before cheap printing and sizzle before steak led to massive book bloat. The art is solid, the concepts are well-expressed, it's a shame I don't get more use out of it.

Rules and tactica discussion is encouraged.
Fluff and rumors are better suited to the General, so kindly check the catalog.
The 30K community is still small, but growing, so don't get discouraged if your AoD list doesn't get feedback.
>Rules of Thumb
1) If you post a list, please critique other lists, if you are familiar with other codices.
2) Type your lists cleanly. Lists with poor formatting are usually ignored. Picture versions or PDFs of lists *are* acceptable, but not encouraged, and will often be ignored as well.
3) Preferably, advice should be given from a place of experience, i.e.; don't give advice you haven't tried yourself.
4) Don't bump excessively either, as that will diminish the likelihood anons will respond.
5) Finally, it helps if you have a short description of how you intend to run your list. This also helps anons give better criticism, and will typically illicit swifter responses.

I've felt strange, ever since I gave a speech about people who I shouldn't know to a crowd that were until a month or so ago were just strings of code. Or were they? I still haven't figured out exactly what's going on here, and I doubt I ever will, But I'd be lying if it wasn't haunting me like a bowl of bad chili. I shouldn't be angry...I mean remembering two very different lives is pretty nice, no it's really nice. I remember meeting Lawrence back in grade school, he came and sat by me during lunch, despite the fact I had a cold that week. And I remember breaking Lucy's first Admirers nose for admitting he only liked her for her...figure. and I met Sam and Bailey twice, which is nice too I guess.
I sigh, I remember stopping Sam from beating in Lawrence's face, and I remember giving him water...

What's the craziest win you've ever managed to pull at the kitchen table?

Right now the most fun I'm having is with my Gruul Fresh Meat deck. It's janky as fuck and the only thing that actually cost any money was the Parallel Lives.
>Cast Parallel Lives and dump Eldrazi Spawn on table
>Sacrifice all spawn, cast Fresh Meat
>Slap shit with 9 billion 3/3 beast tokens
Double the fun with Impact Tremors out.

Probably managing to get all 4 Mardu Ascendancies on the table and shitting out 3/3 first striker Goblins (Obelisk of Urd + Bloodmark Mentor)

I took apart stiflenought because it sucks now and built a kitchen table deck
the basic game plan is use torpor orb or sundial of the infinite to play phyrexian dreadnought or eater of days and beat face. rest of deck is counterspells and digging.
Battle raged far below you, thousands of men coated in steel creating a cacophony of violence. Spellfire rippled forth from robed humans atop a makeshift tower at the rear of one end of the battlefield, surrounded by banners of blue. Screams of pain and anguish filled the air as the spell impacted with the enemy ranks, setting the very earth ablaze. Your vision from this rocky outcropping could see the shimmering of the air as the armoured cocoons of the soldiers turned to molten slag over their very bodies.
The opposing general, wearing a plume of green feathers and...

Devlinson is exhausted. His eyes are red-rimmed and his white shirt is rumpled, the front carelessly smeared with tobacco ash.
“Big night on the town, Dev?”
The olderman wipes his face with his hand, pulling down his lower lip. Peeling it back reveals a misaligned row of nicotined stained teeth. Brown rot festers visibly in the crevices.
“Yeah,” he says, lifting his eyes to meet yours, “You could say- aw, Christ.”
His gaze is fixated on your nose or maybe more honestly,...

Some friends of mine want to play Twilight Imperium all day on New Year's Day. I have the first expansion, but haven't played much of it.
What combination of strategy cards are the best to use, and why?
I've actually wondered this too.
Initiative
Diplomacy II
Political
Logistics
Trade II
Warfare
Technology II
Imperial
Doesn't switching the trade card negate half of the cat race's racial power?

How do y'all feel about legendary weapons with a history to them? I'm not so much looking for crunch here, I'm just hoping we can share cool fluff for weapons of legend, both blessed and cursed.
The sword known as "Beautiful Singer" is a dueling sword of extraordinary craftsmanship and incredible beauty, as much a work of art as a weapon. She is incredibly light, seeming almost to float in the wielders hand. And when she cuts through the air, it is said that the sound she makes rings in the ears of her wielder as the most haunting...

And here is where solid fact ends, and folklore and speculation begin. It is said that the warlord was so distraught at her death by his hand that he brought the blade that killed her back to the smith who crafted it. The warlord was something of a poet, and so he composed a piece in her honor, and had it inscribed on the tang of the blade.
"The glorious sun,
night on reaching its zenith,
shaded by my hand."
The warlord had only shaded the sun, however. He did not extinguish it permanently....
