How would the UNSC fair in the Mass Effect universe? Really and with no war posting. Lets just assume that Asari explorers find Harvest instead of the Covenant (which don't exist in this universe), And the Mass Relays are still in Human space just undiscovered. (This includes the Mars cache.)
How would the pre-war UNSC react to this assuming peaceful First Contact?
>>44261107
Go find one of the Mass EffectXHalo Crossovers on FF. There's a bunch, but they should help you set the field.
>>44261107
Well UNSC ships are better in terms of mobility since they have warp drive technology.
But they falter in defense since pre-covie fleets doesn't have energy shielding. In terms of land war capability, if its Alliance vs UNSC the Alliance has the most advantage.
>>44261107
The halo universe is pretty assbackwards compared to mass effect. Without barriers you could probably throw every pre war ship at a small team of turian frigs and they'd all get pasted.
Once the UNSC get thier own shields they could probably mount some kind of defence, but they'd have to change up their fleet doctrine pretty hard to compensate for the fact that fighter bomber teams are now totally obsolete.

Alright good anons. I need to catch some sleep, because I have work in the morning and life's a bitch like that sometimes. I'm going to make the bold move of not archiving this thread just yet; hopefully discussion and voting will keep it open while I sleep for five hours.
As always, discussion, feedback, critique, and questions are welcome.
Thank you again for reading and participating! See you in the morning, DLQ readers.

End Times and Age of Shitmar need not apply.
This isn't a question unique to Warhammer Roleplay, but getting into it got me wondering, since it's always been a bit murky and hard to handle for me.
How do you handle down-time or timeskipping? WHFRP sometimes deal with some potentially long timespans, which could involve training into a new career, going about your life and so on.
How do you handle it? Do the players take turn, is it a dedicated session between "adventures", and how would that work if you're going pretty much free-roaming? I've always got problems tying it all...

Oldhammer was a lot more generic than I think people remember, but theyre essentially just dwarfy-er dwarves that love giving sick burns and play practical jokes on assholes.
>>44257110
Much like 40k took influences from a crazy number of sources of sci-fi, Fantasy took infleunces from a crazy number of.. fantasy.
At the end of the day, it's really "just" Lord of the Rings with shit all over it, and the conflict between Order and Chaos, with european paganism and christiandom sprinkled loosly around it.
But I'm thankful gnomes were axed, honestly. Fucking gnomes.

How would you do this in a campaign?
>>44255500
I've actually done this in a SAVAGE world game. Its really pretty simple.
>nanomachines son
They consume flesh and bone and convert it to a corresponding synthetic material. Bone is consumed and turned into a super-dense carbon nanotube structure, the brain made into a self replicating and repairing processing unit and the flesh is a sort of nanobot swarm.
>>44255500
Robot kits that retrofit corpses. Newly animated bodies go around collecting dead bodies and retrofitting them. Eventually go about making corpses.
None of this "a bit turns you into one" cliche. They drag bodies off to little impromptu zombie factories. When their populations start getting bug they differentiate and make specialised units for building, collecting, defending, and leadership.

Would you buy your QM a Christmas present?
>Are you doing a Christmas Special?
The timeline my quest-universe is working in means that heading into December for a Christmas Special would skip too many plot points and get too confusing.
However, I am planning for what I'm hoping will be an interesting one-shot Christmas special not involving any of the ghouls or anons but taking place in the same setting...
Also, was anyone involved in the CURSED GAME last night?
> Would you buy your QM a Christmas present?
Hell, if i had the money, why not?
Also, is there any place i can get a resume of Joker's Quest? Or do i need to read all the threads in the archive? Because i really liked the plot 'til thread 50 or something, but there's way to many threads to read.
>Would you buy your QM a Christmas present?
If I weren't totally broke, and my QM wasn't a total shitter, maybe?
On another note, what in your opinion is the best Quest ruleset?
The thread is dead. Long live the thread.

The Lords of Shadow are a chapter that focuses on stealth as well as guerilla warfare, using their swift yet devastating strikes to end engagements as soon as possible. Descending from the Raven Guard, they inherited a lot of their parent chapters quirks, yet developed a few of their own. A mutation in their gene seed has caused their skin to become a sickly, pale grey and their eyes to become completely black. Though simply cosmetic changes, the Lords still tend to wear helmets most of the time, in order not to create any unneeded disruptions between them and the more puritan chapters. Cont.

The Lords of Shadow are led by Chapter Master Atlas Elgris who, in contrary with the chapters tactics, goes into battle wearing an ancient suit of golden terminator armor. Though the sheen of the gold has long since dulled, he wears it as a resolution, and to mock the opposing forces. "Here I stand, alone, resolute, content to grind you into the dust beneath my feet. Come at me Xenos, Heretics and Devils, the Emperor protects and I show no fear." When the provocation is met, that's when the full force...

The Solar Blades were founded in the 22nd founding, allegedly an Ultramarine successor, they have little ties to the original chapter, bearing none of the iconography nor being close to the chapter in culture. The chapter takes pride in their geneseed purity, but they're quite secretive about it and its composition.
Tactically, the Solar Blades are well versed in most forms of warfare, but specialize in infantry and personal combat prowess. In further divergence form the standard chapter, they're also masters of cooperation, working well with the Imperial Guard,...

Hello /tg/, I have heard you're the best board to ask about stuff like this. I've been reading up on werewolves, and while a lot of it is applicable here, how would you do weredragons? As in, people who are cursed to turn into a big beastial half man, half dragon monster.
I was thinking they'd have a step in between where they'd seem to be more human with dragon features for a strength and durability boost, but under times of extreme emotional distress would turn into a full weredragon monster. Is this a dumb idea?

Okay, just to be clear, did you mean that you could invest 5 points into a skill, plus an additional point in up to 3 specializations?
>>44247641
Up to 5 points total in any skill. Specializations cost 1 skill point each, and you can only buy a total of 3 different specializations at character creation. Specializations bought do not have to be for the same skill, but you can put all three into different specializations for the same skill if you want.
