Anyone have this? Pic related.
Anyone try is? How is it?

I'm waiting to buy it when Mythras comes out, but I have not played it. I am assuming it is good because the team behind it is amazing and the preview makes it look worth buying.
I'm definitely getting impatient for the Mythras release because this book though.
>>48017817
How different is Mythras going to be from RQ6? The way I understood it was that it only smoothed a few things out; no drastic changes.

Cleaned up formatting, all errata, rules clarifications, adding firearms into core, etc.
I just want to buy the new book after seeing the free book's new formatting. It looks like a much better reference.
ITT: Systems you like but nobody ever wants to let you run

im gonna be really surprised if some retard doesnt post F.A.T.A.L op
Also Cypher system is hot garbage, suicide soon.
>>48017522
Are you going to post a reason why the system is "Hot Garbage" or are you just gonna fade away?
Anyway, >>48017500, pic related. Since literally everyone I know is a 3.pf faggot, I will never, ever, ever, ever get to run a high lethality game.
my players told me that only autistic people would ever back a kickstarter from a 4chan user
and then they said the rules were shit without reading them
This is how I Tengu.

Where's your Bakeneko buddy?

fun fact i live in the same city as this crow. He's pretty tame and pulls this like this all the time. He rides the subway, comes in to a local gym, and is basically a hometown hero.

>your monster kills the pc
>the player is upset and annoyed
>you know as a dm that he has an ability that every member of his race or class have that circumvents this death
Do you let him go "FUCK IM DEAD" or do you go "no jerry use arcane doodleyfuck and dodge the attack"?
>>48016897
It's the player's responsibility to know their own character. If the PC gets killed because the player forgot about an ability, that's on them entirely.
I'll usually tell them for the sake of keeping the game going.
I'm also the type of DM that will warn the PCs if they're about to do something stupid. They usually go ahead with it anyway and get killed, but at that point it's in their hands.
>>48016897
the right move it to let him die.
Most Dm would just have him bleed for days and recover over months and wow surprise he is not dead (recover done in 0.3 second of IRL time because random elipse)
That's why i only play with people i know. There is no consequences for any actions the player take otherwise.
Kobolds?

I knew a guy who ended up the king of a small Kobold village in a game I DM'd

Hey /tg/
So my roommates and I want to start a D&D campaign, but the problem is none of us have very much experience. I have the most experience having played through two 3.5 campaigns, so that makes me the most qualified of us to DM. Honestly I'm nervous that because I haven't memorized all the rules it will kill the pace of the game and people won't have fun. I also don't have enough time with work and school to dedicate myself to learning the intricacies of the rules now. Any suggestions for what I should do? Possibly play an even earlier, simpler...

You don't need to know all the rules by heart. Thats what the books are for. I know you think it will slow the game down but as long as you talk to them and stay engaged the pace won't drop off.
Have no fear dude as long as you make it fun and have some laughs (The whole point of the game) They won't mind it being a goblin hunt if you can make them laugh a little or let them guide the story a little bit.

You need to exert dominance over the group, so at the beginning of the first session pick the biggest fattest neckbeard in the group and insult his waifu, his character and his dice, if he argues then punch the fucker in the face.
Once he's been put in place, get everyone to sit down for the character generation, then after 3 hours of crafting them, run a quick intro session where you kill them all off painfullfy and humiliatingly one by one. Be descriptive. Once they are all dead end the session.
Youve...

Thank you both so much lol. Both of you guys have actually helped me a lot in terms of formulating the kind of campaign I should run at first
How do you use witches in a fantasy setting where demons, dragons, and other monsters exist and still make them scary? I think the idea of a creepy old woman living in the woods is a great character archetype but in a world with so many other enormously horrifying threats, how do you give them their own distinctly horrific feel?
>>48015847
Depends on the setting
Cults like Wickerman shit where they plan to take over an entire village by convincing them that magic is not all that bad
>>48015847
Watch the movie The VVitch. It's a really fantastic horror/period drama film about a witch in 1630s new England.
What's the fantasy setting equivalent of The Stepford Wives?

Nice to see you running again Graves, when did Brute and the Warrior start building a bunker?
/tg/, I'm going to be running a LotR campaign relatively soon. It'll be my first time DMing, so I'm pretty nervous.
One of the main concerns my players have is that LotR is such baseline fantasy that they'll be bored immediately. I assured them that the films are far from the extent of what Tolkien wrote and we'll be working beyond that anyway. I've set it in the Second Age, diversified the orcs into four playable subtypes, created a Lovecraftian abomination a la Ungoliant, and a unique Big Bad. I'm even writing my own magic system.
Nonetheless,...

Dont sweat them being bored. Give them something to do and the game will be fun.
LotR is baseline, but the setting really matters less than the way the players interact with it.
>>48015280
I figure as much. We're a rambunctious bunch and chase our impulses so it's not hard to get a plot moving. And I have two acts written so far. I just want to wow them, y'know?
Bump 1/3
Anyone playing this? My local community is jumping in, we've got 10 people playing it and it's a pretty sweet game so far, anyone else have any experience with it? only seen it mentioned on here once or twice before
Anyone have a copy of the rules?
Game has been pretty much dead on arrival due to a combination of factors that lead to a lot of apathy towards it.
>>48017675
that's a shame, it's definitely nothing groundbreaking but the activation system and pins make it far more interactive than a lot of other games out there imo
How strict are you about your players taking notes?
>Recap Kid
>Girl
Is nothing safe from genderswapping?
Is that a girl or a boy?
I take detailed notes on everything. Never had it be a problem. What GM is against note taking?

I hate Nicol Bolas' artwork and I don't have 60 dollars to buy the good looking one. As long as I can prove I own a Nicol Bolas, can I use a custom proxy as my commander in EDH?
That's up to your playgroup.
Assuming the real one is sitting there the whole time I can't imagine why not.
Bolas definitely has the worst art of the 5.

another internet 40k fanboy thinking his 40k universe could compare to the sheer absurdity when it comes to numbers. When will people learn that comparing technology in star wars to any popular sci-fi universe is like fighting One punch man. You wouldn't belive how many zeroes Star Wars lore writers added just for kicks, 40k may not lack ferocity but if your blaster melts power armor like butter then its time to go son

Actually it was this one faggot named Curtis Saxton. His entire motivation being to win against Trekkies in dumb internet wank contests back in the days of usenet. His other greatest hits include the retardation of the "Endor holocaust" as it's sometimes called.
He's a retard, and a large chunk of us Star Wars fans kinda hate him and his retardedly huge numbers.
