Inb4 "hur hur slavery is evil, muh freedoms" have you included "alternative" slavery in your campaigns?
Besides slavery in the Americas what was slavery like in different eras and how was it viewed? how have you incorporated it into your world?
Playing in a One Piece game currently, slavery is uncommon but still very much alive.
The degenerate mutants of California are largely enslaved by the Neomormon church rebuilding salt lake city.
>how have you incorporated it into your world?
Really depends on the culture, here are a few:
>Goblinoids
All slaves are owned by the state and either work in the military or on public works, once they've served for a sufficient amount of time they are allowed their freedom. Slaves are acquired through military conquest. Most populations are generally kept in place to continue farming/infrastructure maintenance while the occupying force takes over their finances with an installed occupying general...

I see Booster finally got his paint done right, just in time too!
Have Gammorean Conan.
Would a Jedi be able to predict the next thing their opponent is going to say?
The fundamental basis for the Imperium's governmental structure is the size of your hat. Clearly, this is the far distant future of Team Fortress 2.
Also, this is how you get an Ogryn into a tiny confined space.Psyker a waifu.

Is Minwu also wearing mascara? Because those are a woman's eyes.
How do you do vampires in your not-WoD games?
If you have a vampire in your party where they're not the norm/standard race and its thirsty, would you feed it your blood?
If you're the same gender would that be totally gay as fuck?
Would feeding be pleasurable or painful?
Can they make babies from sex?

No, no, painful, no

>How do you do vampires in your not-WoD games?
Most of them are ennui riddled wanderers desperately clinging to whatever vestige of attachment they have to the world, though it largely depends how old they are. Very few new vampires are created, so most of them fall under the category of 'Fucking ancient'.

I'm just legit curious how people handle vampires beyond just an enemy type.
Like do people ever hold campaigns or quests where the party members put themselves at risk of becoming/actually begin turning into vampires?
How would they go about curing vampirism?
Are vampires kill-on-sight or can there be friendly vampires that the party encounters?
So why do so many people think that rpgs with needlessly complex rules the disrupt the natural flow of the narrative are what rpgs really are about. Is it because those are easier to market than the latter? Roleplaying games intrinsically thrive in systems that are rules light.
People mistake complexity for complicated.
A game like basic role-play (call of Cthulhu) or GURPS have a loads of rules but these all handled in consistent straight forwards manner of simply applying common sense to a situation. These games are complex but they aren't complicated in play. People don't bitch about these because they're not an issue to play.
The D20 on the other hand ( maybe not 5e but certainly the case of previous editions) is unfortunately full of oddball rules that only makes sense within the context of the game as a game. This...

Hey look someone let the one single idiot who has ever played fate use a computer.

Some people don't care about the flow of the narrative much. I personally enjoy pretty much every type of game, and the appeal of something like Dark Heresy, Unknown Armies or Weapons of the Gods is that they facilitate narrative in a different way than more light games do. I think the most damaging thought to RPGs as a whole is the idea that there is only one way to play
Chess. A beautiful abstract game, probably one of the most abstract games that people still relate to the idea of war or battle.

Everything is better with lasers and Egyptian mythological influences.

"It's...gods, Amy, it's beautiful," you breathe, a little awestruck. "The detail is amazing." You look up at her and grin. "I notice you made my side black."
"Well yeah," Amy agrees, ruffling your hair. "You're always the woman with the plan."
"I haven't played in ages...wow. We should do a game!"
"Not right now, you've gotta train," Amy reminds you. "...What else had you planned with your day?"...

What replaces Warhammer?
Kings of War.
It has mass battles, block movement, and all the old races from WHFB with a couple of extras on top.
Age of Sigmar keeps the powerful heroes and wizards, but is a skirmish game and not at all built for pick up games, and while all the old races have rules but a few of them have disappeared from the fluff.
Both have equally different fluff from WHFB despite AoS being a continuation, it skips thousands of years and is a totally different setting.
Battle Axe
Skirmish Mace
Doing my first D&D campaign as a DM any tips you can give for my first time?

You're off to a good start.
Fae related stories, adventures, and mishaps.
What ya got?
>>44276522
I've got a bunch of Changeling-related stories. A witch being seduced; a father fighting to free children from the grasp of a horrible beast; all that lovely jazz.
I met a few princess.
I made the mistake of kissing her ass.
She asked me to play a game. The wager was that if she won she would marry me. if i won I could marry her. I agreed. I lost on purpose because it turns out she was good and I didn't feel like fighting since I figure I'll just be ignoring her anyways. She she then can find me into a room with herself the rest of the existence the implication that she was the one in charge. 50 M was kind enough to let me out you keep playing however on bus now physically and verbally kiss her ass whenever she appears.
Does anyone have fae catboys?
You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and this has been a tremendous day for one of your subordinates.
Mirai, one of your veteran commandos, has learned the Bankai of her zanpakuto, Sesshōseki. Its name is apparently “Seisha Hicchū”, and it seemed to consist of a shortbow with little flaked seki-stone blades edging its limbs. Given what you know of zanpakuto, even the ones with exotic abilities possess release states that are similar in nature: Yoruichi's Shōsōtō can analyze and reproduce objects, your Tenkotsuki can call on Tamamo-no-Mae's skill with kidō...

Mirai seems to keep her thoughts on that to herself.
“So what of Kurosaki?” she muses. “Of the three of us he is the only one who has not attained Bankai.”
You walk over to where Yoruichi is standing, a frown on her face as she watches Ichigo continue to struggle.
“You can see his form is all wrong,” Yoruichi observes, not taking her eyes off your nephew. “After watching him it's become increasingly clear that he inherited Isshin's raw power, but his skills are those of...

Be rather interesting to see how they both may react when it is time for the rebellion arc.
A couple of friends and I wanted to play D&D, but we don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
Why do you want to play?
What previews experience do you have with tabletop rpgs?
When you start playing for fun and someone asks to play a elf that looks like a prepubescent child, say yes since they probably just think it's hilarious. Last time I allowed it in a game it was true and there was no magic realming about it.
Go find a free DnD PDF
Follow the rules but not too closely.

>Tell group a week in advance that I'm taking a break from running our weekly tabletop game so I just kick back and relax
>Make it clear I don't feel like working on and running a big weekly game night until January

>Tell them to run their own damn game during the Holidays if they want to play that much instead of expecting me to do it
>Nothing but sou scowls
Why do people do this?
