Regular chess rules apply.
Dubs (or above) chooses a move for whatever color's turn it is. So yes, you can try and fuck up the strategy of your opponent by rolling on their turn. Re-rolls allowed.
Will this be a chaotic and shitty chess match? Yeah, probably.
If the thread 404s before the match is complete, I will make another thread. If we get to a boring stalemate, we'll restart.
As a reminder for later in the game, since we're using custom pieces:

>white queen = troll...

This could have been done better, but what the hell I'll bite.
White plays d4. Stonewall time senpai
Actually we could just vote on moves, that would be a hell of a lot easier.
>>44387279
>>44387286
I'm up for suggestions. I don't think voting is a good idea, as there are way too many possible moves each turn.
We could have a time limit: if there hasn't been a move in 10 min, whichever move is closest to dubs is chosen. Thoughts?
Need advice on rolling up and roleplaying a "Shrine Maiden" character.
A GM is trying to get together a GURPS game about modern day fantasy/sci-fi demon fighters or some shit. I've decided I want my character to be a miko/shrine maiden. Can anybody with a better knowledge of Japanese culture tell me how I should generally stat this character and what her skills/powers should be like? I know I could just read the Wikipedia entry on "real" shrine maidens, but I have no idea how they've been portrayed in folklore and popular media (other than...

From my knowledge of Japanese culture, they have sex almost constantly and have pensies about 67% of the time. So, like any other Japanese girl.
>>44385438
In truth most shrine maidens are generally not much more than cleaning/working staff and for shrines and servants for higher religious figures. They are involved mostly providing music, singing and dancing for religious rituals. Also if they happen to be beautiful that was seen as an advantage to make the shrine popular. Unlike their popular portrayal in anime, they are not all young and beautiful. Some live at their shrine until their old age.
Their "spiritual duties" are not fixed at all because...

OP here - I'm still around. Thanks Anon, good to know that I more or less can just make a lot of shit up but there's still some influences to keep a Japanese flavor to it.
How do Chaos Marines replenish their losses? Their geneseed stocks (including the ones current Chaos Marines are using and could be harvested from their dead) must've warped beyond usability and their Primarches are in no position to provide some, even if they wanted to.

What fetchlands do you plan on purchasing?
Why doesn't Tezzeret's Gambit see any play?

Why is this a meme?
Noob to PF here, but not to D&D
I have a friend who is running a game and will only let us use the Core Rulebook, Advanced Players Guide and Advanced Race Guide
How would I make an effective Alchemist build with just the basic stuff like that?
>Across the Imperium and beyond, many hear the Call of Chaos. The Dark Gods touch many minds, and few can resist their clarion call. Even amongst the mighty Space Marines, there are many who have fallen into the lure of the Ruinous Powers. In the Eye of Terror and the Maelstrom, they battle amongst themselves for power, glory and followers, before launching raids on the Imperium they once strove to protect.
>This eBook contains the complete Warhammer 40,000 Path to Glory expansion, giving you rules for generating Chaos Space Marine warbands and battling other such warbands for the favour of the Dark Gods. It includes rules for choosing your warband, scenarios to use on the tabletop, rules for fighting over worlds dedicated to each of the Chaos Gods, and painting guides.
Have any of you bought it yet? How is it?
I can tell you the one on Kat.ph does NOT open on my iPad. I guess I'll have to wait to see if this is worth not getting anything decent this Advent.
Last two Advents were very good to Chaos. I guess GW went quantity over quality. BUt maybe there is something good in this supplement.

>Have any of you bought it yet? How is it?
It's disappointing to say the least.

Why so?
Something that's always been super frustrating to me as a 40k player is that I meet more people who are in it for the fluff or for the hobby aspect like painting and detail work etc. That's fine, I don't have a problem with how others enjoy the game. I care more about playing the game for the sake of the game, so naturally when I'm making a list I want it to be powerful and synergistic and don't put much thought into whether it's fluffy or not. Sometimes I play with unpainted models. Shrug.
A lot of people don't take well to that and...

They play warmachine, infinity, or X wing.
Anyway, I'm responding to either b8 or idiot for trying to competitive 40k
>>44382820
Like >>44382858 said, I'm not sure if you're being serious or not. But in the off-chance that this is a serious question, the answer is that - frankly - 40k is a shit game. Now don't get me wrong, there are reasons to play it, but most of those reasons are the ones that you specified: the models are among the best, and the fluff is highly-developed and familiar to most of us.
The game itself is a vehicle to sell models at increasingly greater...

The kind of people who prioritize gameplay play better games.
What type of genres or settings would you like to see done as a skirmish minis game that you feel gets overlooked?
Infinity has anime cyberpunk covered, and there is no shortage of grim dark fantasy or war war II games. But what else?
>>44382290
>Infinity has anime cyberpunk covered
Not-anime cyberpunk.
>>44382359
So what were you thinking of then? Max headroom? Neuroromaner?
For what it's worth Infinity is less anime in general and more just outright a whole sale rip off of Ghost In The Shell. Which is actually pretty cynical no-nonsense stuff by most standards
It doesn't follow usual anime troops of kung fu giving you superpowers and letting you dodge bullets at all.
World of Darkness
Witches, hunters, werewolves, vampires, homuncli, and more all in a big throw down.
Hey /tg/, I'm gonna be playing as a Techpriest in a DH campaign. I have the idea that he will be party support/healer, as none of the other party members can get medical until much later than me, and I need tips for actually roleplaying the guy. Obviously he is gonna be more concerned about tech than his team, but to him working with the Inquisition will help him find new and more exotic shiny bits.

Go play as krieger from archer and the game will play itself

You can have him be Magos Biologis. Have him be obsessed with xenobiology, vivisection, bonedrills and general gory dismemberment and you can't go too wrong.

What's the best system foreroticrole play in your opinion?

GURPS.
>>44381474
Just free form it. It's supposed to be erotic and fun right? So just sit down with the other people and tell the story you wanna tell.
What is the purpose of making sexual mechanics? If you can't come up with a satisfactory answer to that, you don't need to do it. Just run whatever game you want and stick the naughty bits wherever you want.
Strictly speaking, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but games like FATAL would probably the best conceptually because the designers envisioned...

>Always focus the story around the PCs and let their choices drive it. No one plays to hear about your novel and be observers.
Pic unrelated but it felt somewhat correlated.
>>44380022
I have never once been in a game that centered around the PCs in a dramatic sense and has been any good; and I've lost track of how many groups I've been in in close to 15 years.
Maybe, just maybe, if you've assembled a dream team of mature spotlight sharers, this can work, but the overwhelming majority of the time, it either peters out into nothing happening, or descends into the party killing itself.
DO make the parties choices matter, and have very visible effects on the world,...

The premise is just a bit unimaginative is all. Nothing to overreact to. Maybe you could speak with the GM and the other players about a plotline deconstructing the "designated good guy"-ness of America IN SPACE, or something.
Again, the setting seems pretty generic to me, but is there anything you know about the plot of the game?

any system you want
/tg/, here's a quite hard character writing challenge just for you
Create a serious, compelling and overall "good" character that wields katana, wears a fedora and and is an atheist. He also has to be male and Caucasian. Any setting is allowed
He has to be good to the point where you wouldn't be ashamed introducing him into your own game.
I'm not even trying to be jokey, I think every concept can be done well as long as you put your head to it
Some reference material for you
>>44378068
Film Noir-style detective who uses a katana instead of a revolver, perpetually smokes, drinks and swears and had lost his faith in God because his family got murderer.
Katana can be a setting thing or a result of some character quirk. Maybe insert some Jetstream Sam in there.
>>44378135
Actually, give Jetstream Sam a disguise that's him in a trenchcoat and fedora. If you'd ask him on belief, he'd say he never bothered.
You could go really anachronistic and set it in the 20s as well. And take nothing too seriously.
There. Fixed.
