Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, cleared the air with Gabby about his handsomeness, received his paycheck, planned out his next objective and achieved the next step of his journey in sorcery. Now, he witnesses the greatest mage duel he has ever seen.

Should we get snacks?
Pull up a chair?
Call over some of the others and start a betting pool?

We should watch safely hidden in the corner.
“The Art of Seduction Enchantment: Sex Magic.” As Eve finishes reading the title of the book Quissonce bolts after her. Eve retreats to jump on the bed while opening the book to the first few pages.
“So we have charm person here, well that one isn't too scandalous.” Quissonce gives an exasperated scream as she reaches after to grab at Eve. Eve, still on the defensive, jumps off the foot of the bed and slides under the crawlspace beneath her bed. Quissonce gets on her hands and knees and reaches in for her, but Eve has managed to scoot her way away from any reaching hands.
“Hmmm, we have anything better in here.” You hear Eve say at full blast to make sure you can still hear her from her defensive position. Quissonce starts to look around the room frantically. “Oh look, what is this? Seducer's Eyes! That looks like a fun one.”
Quissonce has now managed to cast her 'hit Eve with a broom' spell and is stabbing the gnomish sorcerer with the bristly end, ruining her sanctuary.
Eve scurries out under the front of the bed and dashed behind Quissonce, barely avoiding her grasp as she gets up off her knees to resume the chase. Eve runs around the central table and hides behind you for a second as she hums, flipping through the pages. “Ooooooh. Unnatural Lust? How unnatural are we talking here Quissonce?” Eve steps out from behind you holding the book as Quissonce dashes over and finally grabs it from Eve's hands. Quissonce quickly inspects it for damages before using it as a cudgel to hit Eve multiple times.
Quissonce then turns to look at you, the blush on her face reaching Eve's hair levels of red. “I am not a pervert.”
>I'm sure you aren't
>Can I borrow that book?
>How unnatural are we talking?
Has your party ever had to or chose to go through with the dirty deed of torturing others for info? what methods did they use? why did they torture who they did?
>>44393525
No, torture doesn't work.
>>44393525
Yes, we were part of the Mafia, and they wanted to torture one of our men, so not a big deal.
The handsome guy who was supposed to be our first rival didnt have nice time, though. But as our Master said, "what is left of him as important reasons to became our Main Anthagonist".
Not yet but as a druid I intend to use the spell that infests a person with maggots when the time comes. It will have to be in regards to finding my friends if they are kidnapped or if the forest is in danger or something.
>>The Silver Flame
Without fail.
had a god of chaos (pretty much in every fantasy setting) who's worshippers have 1 to 6 chance to cast a random spell when they attempt a spellcasting check.
>>44391972
How important is this guy to tabletop games in general? Seems like he's a big deal.
>How important is this girl to tabletop games in general? Seems like she's a big deal.
Who?
>>44390617
I haven't watched any of his tabletop shows, so I guess not that important. But he's a valuable insight into being a professional nerd. Learn from his mistakes and his successes. Eat his heart and one day gain his power.
Adversary is a new, custom format for Magic: The Gathering intended to be played over Cockatrice.
>How is it played?
In Adversary, players select an Adversary card from an existing archive, or create their own. These Adversaries enter play from turn one, and possess abilities that change the way the game is played. If you've ever tried out Vanguard, you'll feel right at home. Adversary uses 61-card decks (including the Adversary card).
The format is Modern Singleton, and the banlist can be found here: http://pastebin.com/4JUSJp01Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
First for Magic Dance
Second for "where the fuck are the other cards to use in Cockatrice"
>>44383662
It's not like Adversary where you need to download a file and drop it in the folder manually.
1) Launch the Cock.
2) Click "Cockatrice" in the top left
3) Select "Check for Card Updates"
4) Update
It automatically downloads all 15000 MtG cards directly to your computer. I think it's around 50 megs.
How much should NPCs comment on characters dressing provocatively?
Confusing them with prostitutes.
>>44377480
Trying to hire them as prostitutes.
>>44377452
Asking them if they need a new Daddy who will treat them right.Yuh know what I'm saiyan
What is your opinion on John Wick games? Thinking of getting Blood&Honor
>>44399739
Details please?
>>44399760
I stumbled across John Wick games like "Blood&Honor" and "Houses of the Blooded." They sounds interesting from what I have read about them. I have been looking at running a samurai game and Blood&Honor is about Samurai Clans. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with his titles.
>>44399739
>John Wick
Immediately dropped.
What would happen if you tried to recruit for a game online, but secretly accepted only the ones with anime avatars or character portraits?
>>44396723
You'd get virtually any number of people in no time. The game wouldn't last two sessions.
>>44396723
>but secretly accepted only the ones with anime avatars or character portraits?
You'd wind up with a moderately better group than one that didn't have anime avatars or character portraits.
A player that is incapable of even finding character art for their character is a player that can't be assed to do anything but show up, occasionally, to your table.
Guess I finally decided to run my Godzilla x Ghibli game
Didn't even know this guy existed until I decided to build Modern MGA.
Good as fuck and a dollar rare. Garruk's Companion used to be decent at this CMC.
How would a mono green aggro list look in standard right now? I used to play a cheap one back around innistrad.
that card is absolutely fucking amazing in hardened scales.
playing him on turn 3 and he's a fucking 7/6 is fucking brutal.
>>44398173
You missed the standard MGA because Elvish Mystic, Boon Satyr and this fucking glorious card rotated. Right now the tools aren't in standard for MG right now because Khans block is focused on multicolor and Origins/BFZ didn't add shit for anyone other than Gideon and Jace.
I think we should talk about how to run a Maid RPG game in Paranoia!
Yes, I realize what a trainwreck it'll be, but I think it'd be a lot of fun on a drunken RPG night.
For the unawares:
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Paranoia
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Maid_RPG
>>44397632
So everyone thinks that they're playing Maid and then things get fucked and it turns out they have a few clones lying around? Or what?
Either way, it sounds like it could be a fun time.
>>44397632
This works disturbingly well. Friend Computer takes the role of the Master and all the maids are a troubleshooting team. Wouldn't be the most seriously of games but you're running Maid what did you expect?
>>44397693
>>44397739
I was thinking more like a TS team was assigned to be the servants (maids) of a High Programmer, having to deal with the insanities of both systems, but either of those work too.
How do I confront my players with a hyperintelligent A.I.? Does anyone have any quotes or youtube videos with mechnical voice revealing ungodly truths?
Or should I just go full Golem XIV on their asses?
I wish for my players to feel genuinely overwhelmed by the experience. Any help appreciated.
>>44396777
Something something SHODAN.
Anders Sandberg is part of the same crowd as Bostrom and Yudkowsky; he RPs and has a lot of material for Eclipse Phase on his page.
This is a recommendable example.
Alternately, I'd rip off one of Peter Watt's ideas - the hives are pretty good, vampires/zombies and scramblers all work well.
But if you've got Lem on tap, it might be all you need.
I'd start there, or perhaps rip off Peter Watt's different super-intelligent creatures.
>>44396800
HAL 9000 did it better in my opinion. Taunting your opponent feels like a very human thing to do.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARJ8cAGm6JE
>a historical "real world"/"modern day" setting featuring no humans at all, just mythological creatures
>a "thread" on /tg/ featuring no content, just a picture and a single line of greentext
>>44396463
So, Shadowrun dialled back a few years and with one fewer metatype?
>>44396543
If humans never existed at all, could be neat. Culture could develop over completely divergent lines
I need Star Wars Character art. Mercs, Jedi, outlaws, Sith, creatures. Not the bland cast of characters either
>Movie was good, but my EU is shattered
op is an asshat, but allright
>>44396539
My bad. Dumping what I have
So /tg/, how do you treat necromancy in your settings?
Do you make it inherently evil or just a tool that can be used by anyone?
Are good necromancers a thing?
What about good undead, such as zombies, spirits, or even liches?
>>44395814
>Do you make it inherently evil or just a tool that can be used by anyone?

Every single thread... why do you people keep making a fuss about this?
HURR DURR I HAVE NOT EVIL NECROMANCERS!!! LOOK AT ME I REBEL AGAINST SHITTY STEREOTYPES AND TROPES!!! ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWA!!!
This dead horse has been beaten...

Dude's got a point though.
Previously you talked to some aspiring bandits, learned of a conspiracy and alienated one of your companions.

Your carriage trundles into Melire in the darkness, illuminated only by street lanterns and the pale horizon light of the predawn sun. You are not hindered by the guards and indeed, there seem to be much less of them than usual. One of them warns you that while this part of the city looked nice enough, you best not head into the lower districts.
Melire had gone for years without their Duke but now having gone so long without his chosen steward, it was beginning to eat itself. Just how many people were jockeying...
