What are you looking forward to in 2016, /tg/?
Graduating college, getting a decent job, moving to Washington, and smoking a lot of weed.
And being part of several groups each week the whole while.
Nothing, I have all I always dreamed about and everything is meaningless. I'm completely dead inside by now.

Another year of life.
The alternative is no alternative.
Does anyone else here prefer playing agents of the authorities instead of ragtag misfits and rebels?
I just really enjoy trained specialists, soldiers of armies or task forces, members of large organizations, servants of empires, government/corporate agents etc. The usual underdog heroes bore me to tears.
>>44466561
My dream campaign is merciless Technocracy game of Mage.
Fuck reality deviants, fuck superstition, fuck special snowflakes.
>>44466561
You're right. We live in a world where authority and power are in control. it is only right that ALL forms of entertainment support this mindset. otherwise the rabble might begin to have untoward ideals and purging is expensive.
>>44466561
I like both, but I prefer engineering it to be underdoggish either way. Your villains, be they the Man or a bunch of dirty terrorists need to have you by the balls to create tension. Even when playing as the law, I like to feel like there's a struggle and a challenge.
You are a GM. Your players want you to design a Final Fantasy-like world, with all the correct tropes and cliches. What do you include?
>>44464214
everything is belts
>>44464214
Depends, which Final Fantasy? Each one is an entirely different world and setting. Crystal based magic seems to play into it in part, but it's not necessary and takes many different forms, from tiny magic beads made out of the world's soul to giant crystals that stop the poisonous air from killing everyone you love and forcing you to recharge them via giant crystal trees that only grow where there's shitloads of monsters.
>>44464214
I just run Anima, that is fairly literally what it's for. Even already has a JRPG style setting I can pull apart for ideas.
Ever rage quit or made a player rage quit? Any game is fine.
I was running a game and every time I introduced an NPC of some evil importance, one of my players would always say "I shoot him while he's talking" or something to that effect. It didn't always work out but he was always smugly pleased with himself afterwards. So the last time he tried this, I said that when he attacked the NPC he was only attacking an illusion. I don't know why this was such a big deal, but he exploded at the whole group saying I was a railroader and stormed out of the room.
Wasn't me, but a friend who plays skaven was challenged to a 5000pts warhammer fantasy game by a local that guy, who plays orcs. After near and hour and half of deployment, my friend spent his entire turn firing his entire army at 20 black orcs and grimgor, finally finishing them with the dreaded thirteenth spell, removing then unit.
The orc player than packed up the rest of his 4500pt army and left, whilst swearing loudly and throwing accusing glares at my friend.
Pretty sure one of the Weeaboo players at my store rage quit some anime card game.
Dude was drinking the entire time (back room, its pretty common knowledge that you can drink back there) and was full on NoFunAllowed.jpg mode. He was constantly badgering his opponent and goading him to play faster. Eventually he shouts to his opponent "Just play your fucking cards, you know you won!!" and the other guy was pretty uneasy through the rest of his turn.
I never saw that guy again, since we only play back there when the front of the store is full. I'd...

I would do it in RPGs back in my early twenties. I had a lot of emotional issues. Still do, but I'm aware of it now and take proper medication. I enjoy gaming much more having (belatedly) developed some maturity and taken measures to improve my mental health.

Do you join in New Year festivities where you are, Jumper? (Assuming the world you're in has them). If so, anything special you like to do?

To add to what I already said here:
>>44482205
Quest for Glory is very much not about balanced parties; it's about the fact that there are multiple ways to fulfill your goals, depending on whether you are a Mage OR Thief OR Fighter.
So, besides what I already said, having the Mage prefer to go with the Mage is actually very in-genre for the setting. There aren't really adventuring parties...

“Essex, put those torpedoes to your stern!” you command.
“Y-YOU CHAUVINIST-”
“Turn away from them and run from them,” you clarify quickly.
“What!?” Essex breathes as her impressive secondary and teitary batteries saturate the sky and sea with high-explosives. A 5-inch shell lands just short of an zigzagging boat and detonates under the keel, lifting the bow out of the waves and dropping it again with awful force. The shiny black carapace is fractured and crumpled, but it turns away and makes decent speed in retreat; saved by its flexible...

“Behold the [ENGINE SCREAM] of the BANSHEE!” Essex declares grandly. Kaga's palm claps to her face with an audible impact as the sword hurtles off the bow, the violent vibration of the thin braided steel bowstring visible even on the shaky Global Hawk feed. The sword dissolves in a streak of flame that parts in twain, the dark shapes of wickedly forward-swept wings resolving into tangible aircraft at the head of each flaming dart. The F-2 Banshees bank hard, wide wings digging into the air as pull hard to put their noses on the incoming PT boats. Another two have already...

“Yes! I'm fine, though!”
“No,” you mutter. “No you're not.” The weapon probably blew clean through her bow from left to right - a luckily weak hit, structurally - but now water's pouring straight into her at thirty-plus knots from both sides. The abyssals are already splitting up into two groups, angling to each side to execute a proper hammer-and-anvil attack. They have to chase Essex down to deliver it, but she's already slackening speed lest the incoming water batter down her internal bulkheads - there's no hope of waiting for the...

Funny thing is, Luke is the ultimate Mary Sue. Only gets light Jedi training as an adult, still ends up beating two highly experienced Sith. Can speak multiple languages even though he grew up on a farm and has only interacted with moisture. Can somehow magically fly an X-Wing. Is expert robot fixer. Is able to feel no emotions at all when his effective parents are burnt to the bone in front of him. Is Aryan as fuck. Just casually grappling hooks across bottomless pits while dodging lasers with a teenage princess swooning in his arms - and even better for a farmboy, it's...

The Hornet drivers flip through HUD modes to LGB release mode; locking their LITENING-II pods designators on the tiny patch of ocean the Corsairs flickering orange tracers are licking at. They pickle a pair of bombs each; four fighters engaging four contacts, their near 90-degree dives guaranteeing a near hit even if abyssal interference hinders the laser guidance. You hear the pilots grunting into their mics as they pull out hard, skimming over the waves seconds ahead of their ordinance. The 500 pound bombs are on short contact fuzes; they detonate a fraction of a second after...

wait, what?
Okay /tg/, other than sangiunius, who was the emperors favorite primarch, and who was his least favorite (that was loyalist)
Fav: horus
Least fav: lorgar
Wrong image OP.
Pretty sure it's canon Horus was his fave, above fabulous fucking hawkbro even. Least favorite overall was almost definitely Lorgar, no idea who his least favorite loyalist was but I'd guess Russ because he's a stupid asshole.

Favorite: Horus, Dorn or Gullyman
Least: Angron or Mortarion
What made D&D 3.5 so fucking fantastic?
>>44470438
This is the Nth time this thread has been made in (some number I can't be asked to count) days. If you are doing this on purpose in a sad attempt to start edition war trolling, get over it, /tg/ has moved on to other trollable topics.
If you're being sincere, then you should start your thread with a more defined topic and give us a story we can all enjoy about why 3.5 was fantastic for you, and then like minded people can reply.
>>44470438
Come on now, the other one is still up.
I know it's guaranteedreplies: the post, but come on.
is it too soon for me to start trolling with "monks are fine you rollplayers"
Why does every piece of dark elf or drow artwork have to be not only female, but have massive tits that are ready to burst out from their bikini-armor?
This seems to be a problem with elves in general, but dark elves and drow seem to get it the worst.
Drow have always been super super sexualized, so most of their artwork is also highly sexualized.
>>44470408
So then why only women? Every time I ever look for character art for them, or god forbid a brown elf, there's literally nothing else but things like pic related.
I have yet to actually find a male brown elf.
How do I unleash this card's true power?
You find some way to reliably bounce it back to your hand repeatedly and play it again for a reduced cost. That's the only thing I can think of to abused it. Now, which cards do that? No fucking clue. Maybe Augustin IV might help with the cost reduction.

ghostly flicker + archaeomancer + reality acid
Reality Acid used to be in a flicker/bounce style Pauper deck that used shit like Bouncelands, Snap, Mulldrifter, Cloud of Faeries, Kor Skyfisher, and Dream Stalker.
Down in the colony of Horizon's Drop your enslaved minions hold a subdued celebration for the return of the mining crew. Jor had told the colonists and former soldiers both Osjiic and Dagger that their tasks for the day were dismissed.
Herd-beast steaks and chicken were prepared alongside steamed root vegetables and sauteed kelp. Someone managed to find a few sealed crates of beer and liquor and the Daggers brought their own ship-brewed moonshine to the gathering.
There were even a few of the Osjiic grunts joining the gathering despite the protests their former commanders and more hardened veterans tried to put up. There was some tension between them and the Daggers but they knew better than to bring up old wounds.
Even Jor was able to walk among them for a short-time, the colonists for once not shooting him glares and begrudgingly including him in a few conversations. Among the news and gossip he gathered was that there was a human woman that was pregnant and nearing birth. The colonists had somehow managed to cover her shifts, hiding her from Jor and the cauldron-born soldiers but tongues were loosened by drink and good food.
You watch over the celebration idly, a Gargoyle perched in its roost on a pylon of atmosphere sensors. You could feel their anxieties and tensions ease as they ate, drank, and talked. While their normal fears were of little threat, you realize this release was much needed for your subjects.

The Eyegore scout watching the binary star dominated by the Osjiic watches as the fleet suddenly grows with the arrival of several of the surviving and injured craft from the battle with the Ahkam. Scorch marks and craters dot the heavily armored ships, several looking like they barely held together long enough to make the FTL trip and dock with the repair yards in the asteroid belt. Your spy still occasionally overhearing talk about tracking down Estkri's missing scout fleet.
