How would you design an (chaotic) evil wood elves faction?
Well-intentioned extremists.
They want to keep their woodland home safe at all cost, going too far.
>or
The spirit/god they believe in turns out to be a demon or something which drives them to do evil things in its name

Elves are wonderful, they provoke wonder bla bla bla.
Biased eco-terrorists spawned by a militant faction devoted to protect their lands from excessive exploitation by foreigners, in time became unrepentant xenophobe who actually want to exterminate humans for no real reason beyond "muh elven pride"
I just had a dream last night and I think I want to make it into my next villain. Think of a very humanoid looking scrap metal golem. Now make it colossal+++ sized and give it the personality of a pimp with a god complex. Then add a top hat that serves as a TV screen and a general universal gadget. Every time the players manage to defeat it he'll loose a size category but come back at full health (after a certain amount of time). Also It has a certain cult following that are similar to the mad max albino road warriors with the whole "Serve me better and you'll...

Pathfinder wizard. This aint our first rodeo. We murder the dragon and then be on our way. Our rogue gets a new hat.

Heckling aside, I do have a legitimate question. How would you implement Binding of Isaac style "Deals with the Devil" in your tabletops, /tg/? I suppose the system doesn't matter, but an upcomingPathfindercampaign I plan on running is going to have a heavy infernal influence to it, and I want to tempt my players with deals from devils and maybe even Asmodeus himself. Infernal powers, shit like that.
Also Binding of Isaac thread I guess.
at first, make it seem like it's really benign and an outright good deal. also, don't go full on with the devil stuff right away
for example, they encounter a hedgewitch on the outskirts of a village where they might buy simple adveenturing shit
"hey, if you are willing to spit into this bottle for me i'll give you ____ that seems really useful"
and then have dopplegangers show up of that person, after a few sessions, so that they don't immediately connect it.
then just keep ramping it up, just always make sure that the cost...

If you're going to do it BoI style, have it so you can get very powerful items/skills/stat increases however they all cause problems for the player down the road. Less maximum health, causes strong monsters to be attracted to the wielder, a irrefutable favour, an incurable frenzy ala Bloodborne, rejection from all other Gods, an unending hunger, the inability to use other weapons, fatigue unending, an Achilles heel that reduces him to dust; and of-course eternal damnation upon death.
Could be anything but you have to make the deal sound tempting on first glance. No-ones going to make a deal that doesn't benefit them.

I was toying around with the idea of magic items and cursed items also that technically give you the intended affect. One idea in particular that has me grinning like a madman is a belt of dexterity. True to it's form, it gives you +4 Dexterity.
But it also turns you into an Imp. A Tiny Creature, with all the powers it entailsonly you have no idea how to use them, along with the extra limbs, it's not like you know how to fly just...

Why? I don't care for webcomics ever since I've finished Digger. Everything since then was an anticlimax, and I see no reason why yours should be an exception.

Pass.
You have an entity which was created from the emotions of organic beings that has taken up the mantle of God of War. Said being feeds and gains power from anger, aggression, hatred and the spike of stimulation brought about by engaging in battle and killing. It is the greatest of it's kind in terms of raw power even if outclassed by other metrics by it's three rivals. Now what does the Imperium do to stop it?

Sup /tg/. Got a question about a homebrew monster race I'm thinking up for my setting.
The setting is more or less modern, post alien contact, which came in the from of alien spaceship wreckage. Part of the wreckage was device that would transform you on a genetic level into essentially a superhuman. Generally, people really don't like those who become superhumans, so they mistreated a lot. But the drawbacks go further, in that mating with a regular human doesn't create the expected half-human half-alien hybrid, but a horrible tentacle monster whose bite turns...

What's the general genre of the game?
Also magical realm is in the description and how hard you dwell on things.
The players may accuse you of jacking "super+non super = horrible monster offspring" from Werewolf but it ain't exactly magical realm.
>>44498918
>What's the general genre of the game?
Sort of like Shadowrun, I guess, just without the things that make shadowrun interesting (magic, fantasy species etc.).
>The players may accuse you of jacking "super+non super = horrible monster offspring" from Werewolf but it ain't exactly magical realm.
Dunno what that is. Since the monsters are spawned at least initially through human pregnancy, I wasn't sure if anyone would...

Okay, for that tone, saying "there be horrible things in this world. Here's one of them." is not off kilter.
They may be creeped out, for which depending on how hard they react you either say "it's horror, buckle up" or dial it down.
You may have a guy that is mad paranoid about magical realms, you can shut em down with "what, you were planning to fuck bitches? It's not this kind of game."
Im going to dump from my /tg/ folder. If you have anything that would make a cool front yard statue, post it.

Also happy 2016 west coast /tg/
lot of ancient societies that weren't fucked over due to warfare were often matriarchal
either that or just make them a non-human race (thus their biology is different).
>>44497273
>Non-human race
>Females of said race are physically stronger than the males
>Males are just disposable drones and/or servants to the female caste
See how many colonized insects work IRL.
>>44497345
Just because they were matriarchal doesn't mean they're entirely ruled by females or that females were just handed positions of power. Most were just one female at the tippy top that had power and the rest of the power pyramid was male.
Tg, I want to make an actually fleshed out character instead of some half assed thing I got from the top of my head.
This will be for dnd 5th edition, stats are being rolled right now.
noko+dice+18d6
(The reason I rolled 18d6 is that i'm rolling 3d6 for each of my stats. I'll just add them up top down.)
Rolled 5, 3, 4, 2, 3, 1, 3, 1, 4, 1, 3, 3, 6, 6, 6, 1, 3, 4 = 59 (18d6)
Fuck. I didnt roll right, repeat after me, sleep is vital.
dice+18d6
Rolled 3 (1d9)
Stats will be then, 12,6,8,7,18,8.
We will allocate upon choice of class.
roll 1d9 to decide alignment.
1 being LG
5 being TN
9 being CE
STR 12
DEX 6
