>PCs after alot of hard work and spending loads of money build a Motherbase like rig and turned a set of underwater reefs into small islands (The largest is 320 sq. acres) in the Pacific Ocean, near Oceania.

But we built the islands... what can we do? We can't openly fight first world nations, maybe a small island nation...
We have 300 mercs that are...

Knife wielding fags mounted in kiwis.
Also: bribe some politicians. Have it declared an animal refuge, or a historic museum type thing.

Bribe officials. Have them pass laws forbidding trespassing on your aquatic wildlife preserve.
How would you run a game in the vein of pic related? I'm basically looking for a system that both handles stylish high-powered violence well and reasonably quickly, preferably with a little tactical depth to it too.

Fantasy Flight's stupid dice system for their Star Wars RPGs... Actually works really well for crazy ass, dynamic combat. All of the resolution is very much on the "narrative" side of things, but I think that helps rather than hinders the "over the top" action.
My default for high action stuff is Legends of the Wulin, but that likely fails on the 'light' criteria. As much as I love its combat system, it is a crunchy game. Not as bad as some, but the bad editing makes it worse.
Tell me, anons, have you, or has anyone you known, while GMing just drop the non-interference act for a moment and point out why a player or players choosing to do something is a terrible, terrible idea? If not, have you or your GM friend ever come close?
>>44524727
"Anon, are you sure you want to use Dementation on the priest? Here in the church. As a follower of Road of Heaves."
I generally comment on what I thought was good play and what wasn't after the session. Some players insist that they're already brilliant gamers and are above criticism, others act like whipped puppies, while the best of them consider some of what I have to say - and disregard my bullshit.
>>44524727
Mostly when the player made a decision that goes against information their character would reasonably know but hasn't had time to be exposited in-game. More often I've seen the veil dropped because a decision is less "terrible" and more "makes a lot of work for the GM that he isn't in the mood for."
Otherwise the decision usually stands; most of the time someone else catches it anyway, but sometimes it leads to fun character growth as the player reconciles the decision...

Hello everyone I am back again, and I hope today's session will be rather productive. The holiday season took quite a toll on me, and now I'm proud to say that I am back. Without further adieu let's get on with the show.
Cheers,
Dmitri

Recap:
You are Sergei Yegorovich, son of former Soviet citizens, and a first generation American, and university student. A little while ago you met a mysterious man by the name of Dr. Speranskii, and found yourself back in time to the year 1872. You appeared right in front of the Winter Palace, and were arrested but soon cleared of the charges in exchange for given the choice to assist the Inspector General of the Third Section in protection of the Tsar and his family. Today Is a big day however, and you yourself will be given an extensive tour of the Winter Palace to see the day to day operations, as well as take in the vast amounts of luxuries and grandeur that the Romanov Dynasty possesses.
>Back to the Story:
You wake up to the nudging of the Corporal by the name of Soloviev.
“It is time to get up, Mr. Yegorovich.” The Corporal says before placing a clean guards uniform on your bedside table.
“Whose is that?” You ask pointing at the Uniform.
“That is an officers uniform commissioned by General Dreletn to make your presence less suspicious. I believe it is of the Captains rank.” Soloviev mentions then exhales some air in what seems like jealousy.
“Oh thank you. Don’t worry Soloviev; I don’t feel like bossing anyone around really. I just have one goal in mind to return to where I came from and nothing more.” You say with confidence.
“Very well then.” Soloviev says while walking out of the room.
“What the hell is his problem?” you say to yourself.

I'm running an 'impromptu' fantasy rpg in an hour. Hundreds of minds are better than one, throw ideas at my face!
Just pull the standard bullshit.
>Start working on a dungeon crawl now. Draw the maps first.
>When the players arrive, stall them with storygame nonsense, like, "Tell me three "truths" about your character. These claims can be widely setting affecting."
>Largely ignore their prattling and pretend to take notes while you fill out your key.
What game? (iow how easy is improv / reskinning, how much combat is expected etc.)
>>44524190
Anyways I'm using some spare bits I have to make a lascannon and crew using a leman russ lascannon, hatch doors from a chimera, and sprue parts from some infantry squad.
I'm only missing legs for my crew and I need a fairly good looking way to hide their no-leg having asses. Also a good base replacement.
Will be posting more pics of my Las cannon
>>44524096
Wrap-around camo netting?
Only have a few bits from 2 inf squads, a leman russ and a chimera that I have yet to paint
Oh, and a command squad, maybe use the extra standard?
I'm looking to run a game set it not-chechnya for my group. They've played pathfinder, fallout pnp and GURPS before. I want a system that can model both the lethality of a modern firefight as well as the associated non-combat actions that my players would be taking as not-chechen militants.
>inb4 GURPS
I've played GURPS before, and that's my plan if there's no better system. I want to know if there's a system better tailored to what I'm trying to do.
>>44524036
How about Ops and Tactics?
It seems to be perfect for what you want.
>>44524036

So I'm starting up a campaign revolving around a group of detectives chasing a serial killer. I've never run an investigation-centric campaign before. I have some ideas for the general direction of the story, but I figured I'd check with you guys for advice and ideas. Story beats, general advice, anything welcome.
>>44523898
>I've never run an investigation-centric campaign before.
Yeah, here's some advice: DON'T.
And I really wish I was just trolling, but after several earnest attempts at that from me and other GMs I know, it's sincere advice. So, just don't. It's doomed to failure UNLESS you have an entire group of players who are really sharp, attentive, and on-the-ball. And most likely, you don't.
Have scenes and subplots based around their families, friends, and homelives.
>>44523898
The short version is: be prepared for things not to work.
Investigation is a thing that one would hope works well in an RPG format. Unfortunately, making the acquisition of clues into a stock challenge makes the game hostage to whatever resolution method you're using. Worse luck, you're relying on the players to take careful notes and make deductions in order to solve the case. While those things do happen in RPGs (the same searching for clues and putting together a mental picture of what's...

Im in the same problem WHM had but I'm playing Hunters: The Reckoning. Anyone willing to give me tips/help me make a similar PC in Hunters?

>>44524154
It's a shitty story.
It literally makes no sense, and is basically "Look at what my imaginary GM who is supposed to hate me let me do," except that everything Henderson does is just LOLSORANDOM and XTREME. All with, complete with passive aggression, rule breaking, and reliance on such leaps of logic that just about every situation completely unravels the moment you ask even the simplest of questions.
It's like baby's first dumb player story.
How important are physical requirements for a soldier in a cyberpunk setting? If they were at all important?
It depends on how much augmentation or drone operation is part of military practice.
An armed forces which uses cybernetic or biological augmentation might offer a perfect, superhuman body as a benefit of enlistment, with the downside of pledging yourself to military service until you pay off the cost of your body.
On the other hand, if a military uses remote operated drones, you could have your 'soldiers' be fatarses sitting in VR suites and they'd still be combat effective.
I would say very important, the condition of the human form is directly related to how much augmentation it can handle, how much data it can process, the speed at which it does.
The fitter, stronger, faster and more intelligence they have the better able they are to adapt to body modification, implants and all sorts of tech-sorcery.
>Pic related, it's who my character is based off.
>>44523681
This is the thing that always bothers me. Why would the military offer to give you a weaponized body and then let you keep it after your service is done?
Then again the way GiTS does it makes sense, you're given a civilian grade cyber body and any pertinent memories or information about what you do or know is wiped.
We've run the simulations.
Less people would play Magic the Gathering if the cards were free.
>>44523419
Understandable, exclusivity has a value of its own.
Fortunately, WoTC doesn't care about the players as much as they do care about collectors.
How so? While I have no doubt the quality of gameplay would be lower, the quantity of players should go up.
>>44523419
Am I the only one horrified by the idea of simulated neckbeards?
So, how exactly were the Arabs able to counter the Europeans during the crusades?
Seems to me the Europeans had the advantage of better armor and cavalry. Everything I read indicates the Arabs had the edge on steel quality and ingenuity, but it seems to me that their weapons were mostly designed to fight lightly armoured opponents, instead of plate or hauberk clad enemies.
Was there anything the Arabs had going on that allowed them to counter heavy armor?
Is this why the Europeans curb stomped the Arabs before Salladin got their shit together?
>>44523403
Camel Cannons.
>>44523403
>So, how exactly were the Arabs able to counter the Europeans during the crusades?
They didn't
If you wonder why people can win single battles and small campaigns with worse warriors and technology, you'll see that it happened again and again throughout history, war is not a game and doesn't follow strict rules or simple logic
>>44523403
this seems like a /his/ question
What do you think about this change?
I don't like it at all and I think it will be seen as a huge mistake, specially since this set is so important (for those who don't know, this is the equivalent of the Avengers movies for Marvel. The place where many important characters and a big story come together)
what change?
Are you retarded anon?
>>44523045
What are you on about? There's a distinct difference between the original tapping for 1 generic, and the reprint tapping for <>.
I'm with OP. They've complicated something that didn't need to be. Plus mass erratas for sooooo many cards is not a good look.

You notice that you're sitting in the small, cold corner of a back alley as your eyelids slowly push themselves open. Suddenly, you feel pain on the right side of your forehead, and your hand flees to press against it.
The pain quickly eases off, but the hand you've just used feels numb, somehow. You look at it, and the motion to put it in front of your eyes feels clumsy. Your coordination was off.
You decide to check your self, slowly. You had a thick jacket on, a pair of jeans, and within then, a wallet. Inside that, you find some cash (which amounts...
