so /tg/, a week ago in a terrible games thread I introduced some of you to the clusterfuck that is the bane of hungarian rpg communities also known as "MAGUS"
I only showed the trainwreck known as character creation in that system and a very simple fight, really only the basics.
Now I have a little time and not much to do, so if people are still interested I can show you more of how terribad this system is
the mentioned thread

Is this the G.U.R.P.S. version of Mage: the Awakening?
>>44671692
Regale us with your tales of woe, anon.
I'll be making popcorn.
>>44671722
Ugh. No, It's like an AD&D retroclone with a lot of retardation.
Although, Wizards are so bullshit in it it may as well be Mage.
Do you prefer to "slow boil" when it comes to grinding, (pitting the PCs against small puppies at the start) or do you go more for a "set it on high" mindset (throwing mid-high level shit at them to begin with, but start them off on a mid-high level)?
Pic unrelated.
The scale of the titans in that picture is way, way off.
>>44671360
This scale is wrong, entirely.
Warhounds are about 15 meters tall, Reavers 25. The Warlord is 45 meters tall, which is about the height of the Statue of Liberty. Were it not for the narrowness of the streets, they could all walk in New York City and not even be seen above the skyscrapers.
>>44671476
I still think they're too small in the "official" material. The Warlord should at least be the height of the Empire State Buildling.
Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, found a reason to desire more money, embarked on a diplomatic mission and ended up having a really bad dream. Now, he and his allies make their way towards the Firegem village.

You finish packing up camp the next morning quickly and silently. Rowe and yourself manage to keep some distance from each other and your minds shut as tight as your mouths. The central fire is extinguished, the tents are packed on the horses, the animals are fed and watered and you find yourselves entering the hilly region of the Island past the plains, where you notice many small caves embedded in the hillsides. Pex warns you that while most are empty or filled with nocturnal creatures, the living situation is always fluctuating and different creatures may have moved in during...

How would you run this, /tg/?
By throwing popcorn at my players during combat.
>>44669894
Just make them sit there for a bunch of sessions pitting them against enemies with only diplomacy or dedkill rolls. Then when everybody gets bored because it's shit, I would run a real campaign.
>>44669894
Run it secretly in pathfinder by saying the players fell into the underdark and see how long it takes them to catch onto it without me dropping any obvious hints.
Why not form Imperial Guard mutant regiments so they could redeem themselves in death or similar bullshit? It worked for Krieg. Imperium is throwing away perfectly good cannon fodder .
>>44669748
too risky even for 40k
>>44669748
Looks like we have a mutant sympathizer here, boys. Smells like heresy to me.
>>44669748
>give weapons and training to displeased mutant population
>they start a genetic beta uprising and join chaos ranks, now with weapons and training instead of as a generic pointy stick armed rumble horde
OH WHO COULD HAVE THOUGHT IT.

Anyone have the new formations from the Get Started boxes? Looking for 40k and AoS
What are some good ideas for varying up types of terrain? So far .y group just has boxes for buildings and scattered rubble.
I'm getting rather sick of fighting in constant cityscapes. Any way to mix it up?
So where did the idea that Elves have pointy ears come from?
>>44669333
German folklore?
>>44669333
/x/ question.
I can't tell how much of elves is Tolkien.
When I was a kid, elves were either small garden spirits (like gnomes, but more slender and elusive), or Father Christmas' helpers who made my presents.
Pointy ears are neat though.

This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son, shortly after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin graduate named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your...

“Pack it up, pack it up quick!” You, Rana, Anneliese, and Sumire quickly get to packing up your items. Only the ones you can carry on a sprint. The radio and the tents are torn down and thrown beneath snowdrifts. The radio itself is smashed to pieces, then thrown over the side of the trail down the mountain. The rocks will take care of the rest for you. You manage to grab at least a few days worth of food and water for yourself along with your winter...

When they catch us (and they will, they're following our scent), we're gonna want the whole team.
Do your characters eat the monsters they kill?
>>44668658
Absolutely. Granted, there's a heavy emphasis on food in the setting, so I dunno if it counts.
>>44668658
>me when a player says he wants to take pieces from a monster corpse because it might be useful for survival stuff like rope, clothing, meat etc. when we're playing fucking 3.5 where a fighter can jump down a mountain and a wizard can phase into another plane of existence
Should there be side effects for eating certain creatures (like demons or dragons)?
Do you find that it helps to have people who are of a similar political/moral mind to yourself at the table? Does it make the game more fun to you? Or does it at least avoid awkward moments (Such as, say, when the party wants to do a Crusade campaign but there's an atheist at the table)?
Depends on the context, but I always heavily include my social, political and philosophical views to the game. I actually have a very close friend with almost diametrically opposed conceptions of the world from my own, and it can lead to deeply stimulating and interesting dynamics. But this is only possible because he's like my brother.
Basically, play out any real life conflict of this manner in the game and you'll be fine.
That kind of stuff shouldn't really be turning up in the game.
>>44668724
It's never happened to me personally, but I've heard a couple of horror stories of people who can't set their politics aside.

He’s acting like you’ve never fought a random spirit before. You’ve done this a couple of times now. There were those beetlemen ghosts that one time, and you’re pretty sure that mana sprite you bossed into submission counts. (+1 Stress: 40)
“C’mon,” you say, knocking your knuckles against Isaac’s arm. “Trust me on this. I can handle the fights I pick. What worries me are the fights that pick me. It’s not like I’ll be on my own, either. Borislav’s coming, and whoever else I want.”...

“That’s a maybe. I’ll take that as a maybe,” you say, snapping and wagging your finger at him. You take advantage of the silence to retreat.
Except your retreat puts you right at the front door, and that’s when you realize you’ve only traded up to worse. Wolf’s here – you can feel him feeling out of place and stuff through the door - and he’s - but it’s a family thing, and you weren’t planning on him and you being around people. And less than 24 hours ago he saw you naked and you...

How about teaching people how to play it properly.
>>44668190
It was never meant to be fun.
>>44668244
Seriously, every time I play it, nobody ever uses the rules in the booklet to make the game go at a good pace, and usually have some house rules that make it take longer. Then 2 hours later everybody is bored and wishes they did something else.
