While I don't engage in OP style faggotry if one of my players ever hit me they'd never be invited back til they apologized and they'd have to start paying for Panda Express or Pizza Hut again instead of me doing it for a week.

ARCHIVES - THEY'RE ON SUPTG JUST GO FIND IT YOURSELF
You cross the small space in the center of the room to stand by your one and only battleship.
She pointedly looks somewhere else.
“Arizona, can I talk to you outside for a second?” you ask quietly.
She makes no reply, but rises and walks away from you, heading for the door on the opposite side of the room. You walk the long way around the table, hustling at a fast limp to catch the door before it hisses shut. Arizona's waiting for you in the hallway, back against the far wall. Her arms are folded across her middle, hands gripping opposite biceps - not quite crossed arms, but not very open, either.
“Uh.”
Her eyelids lower a fraction of an inch, focusing her flinty gaze even more.
You keep from biting your lip through sheer force of will as the scene from the infirmary plays through your mind again; tears streaming down Arizona's face as you laid into her, the bloodlust of battle still surging through your veins - telling her that she wasn't your god damned mother, no matter what she might think. You can apologize for the tone, but in truth you don't regret the outburst - you *can* handle yourself and she was out of line laying one upside your head - especially after that cerebral hemorrhage you suffered.
One glance at Arizona's...

FIRST FOR FAIRY FIGHTERS!
FIRST FOR SHITPOSTING.
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only war. Imperium of Man, once strong and proud, now is slowly crumbling, whole regions of space are lost to the horrors that lurk in the darkness of the void. Sector Deus is just one of the thousands of Imperial provinces that form the front line in the war to defend Humanity itself. Corruption from within and aggression from without threaten it. But the Emperor sends us hope. High Lords of Terra commissioned a Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, finest warriors Humanity has ever seen, to defend this region of space. They are the...

Centuries ago, Belisarian Dynasty ruled Sector Deus. It was a time of peace and prosperity. However nothing good can last in this universe. Internal strife erupted, civil war and assassination ended once great Dynasty and plunged whole Sector into a dark period known as the Thirteen Rebellions. Eventually a dictatorial general stepped in to bring order and Ursus Dynasty appeared on top, controlling the seat of Capitolis Sectorum. Today, two centuries later, Chapter of the Ghosts of Retribution, have tracked down two young people whom they believe to be the rightful...

Hey Skargan! Nice to see you again bro.
Pretty excited for this thread. Been waiting weeks.
A woman asked me and my group if she could play along with our round. That would not be a problem, she is not a beginner. Problem: She is over 40 years old and we are all 20-25 years old. Could it lead to problems because of the age difference?
Game is Werewolf the forsaken
>>44708895
Why would it?
Let her play, making it clear that she'll go through a probationary period and if she doesn't mesh well with the group she will, respectfully and politely, be asked to leave.
My friend's dad DMed for us many times. And while I do not like his style is some cases (he tended to show favoritism to his youngest son, the "plotlines" of his stories were often just thin excuses for hack and slash games, and he was VERY Black Trenchcoat no Pink Mohawks allowed with his Shadowrun game) he was still a great guy and I consider him almost like a second dad. He...

Is she good looking? I have a thing for older women.
But seriously, give her a shot. Older players can give you an interesting look on how games were played back in the day. As long as she knows the current rules and lore she's just another person.
So I was thinking of getting into Warhammer 40k after hearing about it from other table top sites. What are some basic things that I need to know not to look like an ass while playing?
The most basic things I know that Pic related are Necrons and stuff about the Imperium of Man.
>>44706589
Why do you want to get into 40k specifically? If there is a local group, telling them that you are new and interested should be enough. You can also go to lexicanum to get background information.
>>44706670
I want to get into it because I like sci fi and table top games. Everyone tells me that 40k is a very good Scifi game with lots of lore.
Also, where I am at there are 3 maybe 4 people that play it but they are elitists. I want to know what I am getting into and have some understanding of the game before I se them.
>>44706710
Can you give a quick break down of the lore you know?
My advice is first just looking at the models on the games workshop site. Then just getting a basic understanding of how each faction fits into the lore

You cannot help scratching the side of your head as you examine the datapad. Bandit tilts his head to the side, pursing his lips while looking out the side window of the cockpit.
You begin to stand up from your seat and reach towards the button to open the hatch. "Bandit, we have to bring this to the General at once and-"
The Major reaches out and grips your shoulder, hard, causing you to wince and stop from opening the cockpit. Bandit's flinty gaze halts any sputtered response in its tracks. "Lieutenant, I am sorry to say, but you have an incorrect assumption...

Stupid question for SR5:
Does Availability stack for things without a + in front of it when you combine them?
Scenario in Question: I Want an Helmet [Availability 2] with a Sensor (Camera) [Availability 5] with Thermovision [Availability +6] and Magnification [Availability +2], giving the Camera a combined Availability of 13.
Now, does the Helmet with the Camera have a Availability of 13 or 15 ?
>>44685050
The way i understand it, it for one doesn't stack.
Which means that your helmet is easier to get than the sensor camera for it.
Hello Elegan/tg/entlemen,
So I've made mostly through University and have convinced my professor to allow me to write a ttrpg campaign as my thesis project. (I'm in a narrative and media program)
So I come asking for ideas, what are the benchmarks of a good campaign? What are the things you love to see, do, encounter, and experience?
and on that note what are the troupes you dont want to touch with a ten foot poll? Events, and story arcs that make you cringe?
Im just beginning to rough it out and am hoping to get /tg/'s insight, when I was...

we only help you if you write your thesis about a campaign in FATAL
I recall the D&D 4e DMG2 has some really nice suggestions for building campaigns.
If you hadn't yet, give it a read.
>>44717160
If you don't know the answers to these very basic questions, and have to browse an anonymous image board for ideas, you really shouldn't be doing such a project in the first place, unless your university is a joke, or you're treating it as a joke.

Isn't space also pretty hot in places, at least if you get close to a star? Melting ships.

What alternatives exist to roll20 and Fantasy Grounds?
Fantasy grounds costs a ridiculous amount of money and isn't worth it in my honest opinion.
I'm not going to shit on roll20 because it is actually fine if you just want a grid to battle on and a chatroom to roll dice in.
That's not quite enough for some, however.
I personally want to be able to share images like portraits and maps within the program as well as have a pool of custom tokens to use.
Also sharing text logs and stuff like that would be great.
What else exists? What do you personally use?
You're not going to get premium features for free. Either you're going to need to pay money, make do with limited options or go for things which require more work and investment from you, like Maptools. Maptools can do a lot, but there's very little built in support for it, so it takes a lot more effort to get it all together.

If you're doing Iron Kingdoms or Warmahordes, Vassal has a very good simulator.
I want to make an Imperial Guard regiment that hails from Terra. Does this idea make them too unique special snowflakey from the get go?

Call: "To the Imperium!"

Cadia uses mostly light infantry for normal guardsmen.
Terran Marines from SC are heavy imfantry.
In a 1on1 fight heavy will always win against light. A lone guardsman can't kill a full Nob, how do you expect him to kill a Space Marine clone?
>>44714061
