Does a pc get favored class benefits at level 1?
I am playing my wizard as a buffer and battlefield control and making magic items for the melee heavy party in a low magic setting type wizard. Am I screwing myself by not focusing more on feats like spell focus? I don't really use many direct attack spells.
>>45006345
Not really, no, but here's a better question: Is everyone at your table having fun? If so, you're doing it right.
>We've been playing D&D for years and only now are we discovering the magic of roleplaying!
>>45006209
To be fair dude, I don't think roleplaying flashbacks is that common, it's pretty hard to do without it being awkward.
Also,
>We've been playing D&D for years and only now are we discovering the magic of roleplaying!
>We've been playing D&D
>D&D
Sounds about right.

Quick 4chan! If you could name me one thing to make my DnD Sesson more enjoyable, what would it be (except a good party)

I'd switch out the books used for the session with a different system.

How are you planning on bringing down the dark lord?
>>45005342
Due to an earlier post, I really wanna make Simon Bellmont. After toying around with some different options, I think at the end of the day, he's just a dex fighter, maybe with eldritch knight, but probably just with champion. All the other build ideas I can up with waste certain things, and I hate doing that. But tell me if you have any other ideas...
YEAH! I'm glad to see that other people are excited for what's essentially a Castlvania setting. I'm giddy with excitement for the new campaign and I hope they add Dhampyrs, Vistani, and a monster hunter tree for the ranger.
>>45005362
I confess I'm not too familiar with his abilities, but why not take levels in Rogue and Sneak Attack with a whip and shortsword?

Question: What are the Imperial Families and how do they work? Have you ever played one, seen them played, or encountered one as an NPC? Are their schools even any good?
First for Yasuki best family.
>>45005319
... That tosser.
>>45005382
What's the story behind Seppun Slabhuge?
>>45005319
They kinda suck, Seppun Guardsman is notoriously weaker than nearly all other schools in the book.
I've not had any experience with any others but a friend of mine said the Miya school was fun to play if a little confining.
To what degree is robbing another of his freedom and evil act, and to what degree is violent retaliation justified?
For example, let's say that a barbarian kidnaps the party's cleric with the intent of turning him into her husband, but other than not allowing him to escape treats him farely well and lovingly. Is this an evil act, and is killing her to save the cleric an evil act? Would good party members be forced to look for an alternative way to resolve the problem without simply smiting left and right?
>>45005209
Smite evil should work on the barbarian, I say. She's technically a thief, an abductor and a rapist all in one: smite evil should work on the barbarian, if the cleric that's been abducted yearns for freedom.
>>45005209
Evil.
thats about 90% of the justifications that abductor rapists make up for themself who keep women locked up in their basements.
>Is this an evil act
Yes
>Is killing her to save the cleric an evil act
No, but it's not an act of good, either.
Why do wizards live in towers?
BECAUSE IT'S A GIANT COCK. COME CLIMB IT, MORTALS, IT'S FULL OF SLIMES AND OOZES!
>>45005152
I think it's because of OD&D expecting you to build your own tower by level 10 or so, after pillaging various dungeons and stuff, the topic sticking around.
Why is this applied to wizards rather than other classes beats me, probably because wizards have crazy shit and makes the tower interesting
>>45005158
This is also a possible reason
Magic is stronger the closer you are to the celestial realm
Also damn great view
Predictamancy - Foolamancy linkup sweet.
Looks like Maggie and Lillith are protected by Fate as well as Wanda and Parson.
>>45004285
So wait, what are they doing?
Dancing around the bad fate while aiming at the good?
>>45004756
Using Predictamancy to predict where their invisible enemies (in blue) are, then using Foolamancy to create holographic targets where their allies (in red) should shoot to hit the aforementioned invisible targets.
>>45004285
Marie and Jack are not, though. Someone's going to have to die to keep it interesting.
Unless it's just going to be their newest casters

"There a reason you turned that in now?" you ask. Somehow you have ended up as the big spoon, which is a hell of a thing considering what you just did and how vigorously, but hell if it doesn't feel right. "Coulda turned in the quickie any time. I hope to hell it's not because you feel like you owe me after Amy, because I'd hate to have to beat the shit out of you."
"Nah," Nate says warmly. "It ain't that. It's...it's a lot of things. It felt...

You part, reluctantly, and get dressed. You're pretty sure if Lark knew what you'd done he'd beat you until you turned white, which is why you have no intention of telling him.
Besides, that makes it a little more fun, doesn't it?
Your prophecy of shit food at the saloon turns out to be depressingly accurate; this is worse than your coooking, and you and Nathan both cook like soldiers. But it's food you didn't have to cook yourself, which works for you. It's not...

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and your story has just been interrupted by an impatient gesture from Kurosaki Masaki.
“So you visited Arisawa first?” she asks you in an annoyed tone as you pull on your uniform on the other side of a screen. “Not your nephew?”
“No?” you reply, not really understanding her indignation. “It was my fault in the first place that she got hurt, and your son's a Shiba. So long as they're not dead a Shiba just bounces right back.”
“How could you know that?” she presses, following you out the door. She's not exactly quick by your standards, so you hold back to allow her to keep pace and keep to the streets rather than vaulting between rooftops.
With a chuckle, you try and put the argument to rest. “Masaki, I knew your husband a century before you were even born. I don't like to admit I'm that old, but it's given me perspective.”
“Okay, I get it,” Masaki sighs, “you're a centuries-old superbeing. So what happened next?”
When you continue your story it's with the next morning, not long after sunrise. Breakfast at the Ninth Division barracks was something of a tense affair, which is absolutely exceptional. Voices were hushed, as if for fear that an arrancar might be hiding under one of the tables, or in the ceiling rafters overhead.
“The oatmeal hasn't got ears, Shinji,” you tell the familiar chef as he fixes your plate. Even that little bit of verbal contact seems to be jarring for him. You've never seen the Division's rear echelon so tense.
The young chef nods nervously. “Yes, ma'am... is it true that you brought hollows into the Seireitei?”
You cock an eyebrow at him. “Technically they're arrancar, and they came here on their own. But yes, they were once hollows. And yes, they're here.”
“Is that... you know. A good idea?”

Still holed up in my sister's room, the four of us try our best to work out the details of what we know about Faceless's Branch. And while were busy with that, Allison doesn't budge from her place in front of her closet's door as if she's guarding its contents.
I'm trying not to think about what's in there.
"So you're saying that this guy can walk into a wall and come out somewhere else?" Allison asks.
"Apparently so," Irene replies with a heavy sigh. "I'm already dreading telling the others...
