The penultimate week of two matches for two players comes from Bournemouth as the Premier League gets an extra helping of autism and morbid obesity.
The former of our double header kicks off the evening as Michael Van Gerwen plays Peter Wright. MVG's hyperspeed 6-6 against Gando last week was one of the highest quality matches in PL history, but he will definitely want to go one further tonight against the midlife crisis man who has become his bitch in major finals. Clownman flopped in embarrassing fashion last week against Wee Rabbie after yet another change of equipment; he's thankful this tournament doesn't count towards the Order of Merit.
A Worlds semifinal repeat follows as our other two-match player Adrian Lewis battles against Raymond van Barneveld. The Fat Man remains in unknown territory as he has matched his highest ever PL points score with games to spare, helped with that impeccable nine darter last week against Med Man. Barney is five points off the playoffs and will probably deliver yet another "I'm not playing against Michael so I'll give up" performance.
Lewis's 9 dart victim James Wade is next up against Gary Anderson. With one point separating the 5th and 4th placed players respectively, this is the most crucial of the evening's fixtures in deciding the playoff line-up. A repeat of Judgement Night would be perfect for the bipolar one; a repeat of his Worlds QF against Gary... not so much.
The least crucial playoff fixture is next as Phil Taylor faces all but eliminated Robert Thornton, with a win securing the former's place in the playoffs. The Thorn received his second whitewash of this year's PL at the hands of the Philth, who is now 11 unbeaten this season. The Scotsman has shown far more resilience in recent weeks so this may not be an automatic Groper banker.
MVG then plays Aidey in the final game of the night that, if the two are playing at their peak, should be something special.

THAT MATCH WAS FUCKING SHITE
And that D16 closes a night of Premier League action that was, again, very poor. The double matches don't help matters and for the third week in a row, the closer was a tense but nowhere near high quality affair.
MVG kicked off the evening with a 7-2 slapping of the Clown, whose change of darts yet again ruined his performance. It's telling that two weeks in a row, he has not felt comfortable with either set against two wildly different players. This sort of behaviour will get him nowhere further in the PDC.
Snackpot blew his double header tonight as he went down to Barney in another display of indifference from both players which sums up the late stages of the Premier League.
At least Wade v Gando was interesting, with the World Champion fluffing six match darts from 6-3 up to leave the fixture with a draw. Anderson yet again only started playing when he could be bothered to do so. It was fitting that his finishing disappeared the moment he was trying.
Then, one of the worst games of this year's PL as Taylor plodded along with a sub-90 average which was more than enough to beat Thornton with ease, who only started playing when he was well on the way to defeat. The only interesting point was Philth's whine over the stage being bouncy, which was yet another pathetic excuse.
MVG-Snackpot also followed the scrappy nature of the evening, with the Autism Machine on his way to a brutal demolition of the Fat Man before the Stokie actually put effort in for one of the few times in the night, hitting a thrilling 142 to tie the match up. Then he failed to take advantage and lost despite taking the match to a final leg. With a double loss tonight, Lewis has brought Wade straight back into the playoff race.
