m8 it's not 2003, carbon clincher profiles are just as stable as tubulars, plus they come with rim-specific carbon pads so unless I'm falling off a mountain in the rain there is no worries of overheating or delamination

5 years from now, no good GC riders on tour for reasons
quintana only
no TT, only 20 stages of mountains and champs elysee sprint
falls on first stage and loses 3 minutes to some random no name like TVG
just hangs on for 19 stages
makes one attack on 20th stages last climb
gets back 1 minute
loses GC by 2
>N-next year I swear t. delusional columbian manlets
>>
>>69582606
I bought carbon clinchers with an alloy rim. Not much heavier, way cheaper, no exploding and decent wet weather stopping.

I think the ideal for practicality these days would be a full carbon rim... with dick brakes.

Besides, the feel of a good clincher with latex tubes is pretty nice anyhow.

Next year all stages will be 100% live.

Alpecin should have a women's cycling pro team
>>
>>69583056
They're not even the fastest team, it's been BMC for the entirety of the Tour

Pyrénées are better in the summer

There are other races in the cycling season.

Movistar are the strongest pro tour team on ranking points, consistently. They're not poor either. But le fucking hipster goat boy can do no wrong.

Surprised they they let Cav have the win. Looking at the replay he really does feel like he cut Kittel's line, even if Kittel himself didn't look stronk enough to pass him.

30 fugitives now. Reichenbach and Roland are the best ranked ones between them. Any chance for both today?

Cav had already passed Kittel.
If Kittel was coming from behind, then sure, but he wasn't.

I hate Cav just as much as the next guy but he really didn't do anything wrong there. Kittel had already been beaten

I'd give it to Majka (though he might stop going hard after he secures polka dot), Nibbles or Clement (because of my obvious bias but he's also been looking quite strong)

Don't be.
Remember, the races are to sell bikes.
The bike market in Germany is saturated, while the bike market in Britain is currently experiencing a boom. A British winner spurs sales.

>tfw it's 1998 and seemingly overnight everyone is riding 10,000 dollar race bikes.
>tfw it's 2008 and you're the only one on the road again
>>
How much does the average pro cyclist make? And the elite, famous riders?
>>
>>69583223

>>69583231
the top I'd guess around 2-3 million euros a year
>>
>>69583231
average is probably a couple of hundred grand all in, Froome will be on a few million
>>
>>69583223
And then once the boom ends there are hundreds of hardly used race bikes in great condition on sale at a heavily discounted prices.
>>
>>69583231
Team supporters in the ProTour get between $50-70,000. Top ones that get sponsorship and are a decided team #1 get $100,000+ depending on bonuses, stage prizes and endorsements. Continentals get even less than this and do it because they love it
>>
>>69583231
Big riders probably between 2 and 6 million euro a year.
Top domestiques a few hundred thousand euro and upwards.
Squad filler 40,000€ and upwards.

Froome would have taken them with little trouble, probably.

Clement is doing fine this tour, I believe he has been in 3 or 4 breakaways and has done a good time-trial.

edit: I see that Pantano is in the breakaway too...the question is if he has to work for him. In earlier stages he had to work for Pantano/Frank, but now he is higher on the GC ranking.

That's still fuck all compared to even slightly above average tennis pros.
>>
>>69583252
It's true. For about five years after the boom ended, I paid for all of my own bikes by buying other people's wanna-be-like-Lance Trek Madones and selling the parts on eBay.
