You have guys like Peyton Hillis and Chris Johnson who look great and all of a sudden disappear. Seems like the only consistent RBs are the ones who are elite like Peterson and Lynch. For most other positions if you are a good player it usually stays that way.

Their owner is arguably the worst in the NFL, the only reason the team even wound up with Rivers is because they had to pick between two elite QBs: Brees or Philip. Chargers are like the Nanners, they aren't winning shit when they don't even have owners who care about winning.

Don't forget the clots.
A big reason they haven't been consistently at the bottom of the division is because of the perfect storm of Peyton's neck injury leading to the Colts having the #1 draft pick the year Andrew Luck went for the draft.
Now I don't know if Luck will ever be as good as or surpass Peyton (in terms of his overall career), but he certainly keeps the Colts afloat when he's healthy and playing well (unlike last season, obviously).
It makes me wonder what would have happened if the Colts (by some weird cosmic event) didn't pick Luck that year, or if Luck stayed for his senior season (for whatever reason).
Would Peyton have come back and won another Super Bowl like he eventually did with Denver last year?
As I recall, the Texans were beginning to get the drop on Manning somewhat before his neck injury (at least at then Reliant Stadium).

Cardinals bro reporting in.
Here's how i see this team: their offense is fantastic and Palmer just had a horrific game against he Panthers. I do wonder if his thumb was injured, given 3 games he played with the injury were his worst of the season. This is an offense that, in the regular season, wasn't stopped by anybody (until the final Seahawks game).
The downside is their defense. It was ranked in the top 5 last year, but statistics don't tell the whole story. The Cardinals did not shut down any powerful offense, and sort of "stat-padded" themselves against the many teams they played with sub-par defenses. Their stats and highlights also looked good because their aggressive blitzing style lead to a lot of turnovers against bad or one dimensional offenses (49ers, Lions).
This was a team who were among the top in the NFL for pressuring the QB, but among the lowest in sacks. they blitz a lot and give up a big play or two every game. Their front 7 on defense were bad, but they seemed to do a lot in the offseason to get help. I think their front 7 will improve, but if they don't win the SB I almost guarantee it will be because of them. Or Palmer will break his bones again.

Brees is gonna falter this year, his arm is shot. There isn't enough balls to go around for Hilton and Moncrief sadly. I feel like Bernard has to compete far too much with Hill for carries. I'm not a fan of the team to be honest.
>>69582001
Yea Saints are probably my 2nd favorite team but Brees has led the league in passing yards 4 years in a row iirc. He would have had another 5k season if he didn't miss one game last year too

>>69582034
Charles was shown as replaceable last year, he is 29 going on 30, and has a TO of mileage on him. Expect his usage to plummet and his numbers to go down accordingly.
>>69582046
I'd hardly say he as shown as replaceable. Chiefs had a piss easy schedule in the 2nd half of they year and their defence carried them to most of those wins not the run game. Charles when healthy is still arguably the best RB in the NFL
>>69582073
"When he is healthy" is a pretty big issue when he is 29 going on 30, has his mileage, and his injury history. Peyton Manning is arguably the best QB in the NFL when he isn't 40+ and has a fucked up neck and legs

No it isn't. When teams win, they sell. The Seahawks are the best example I can think of, they were pretty irrelevant but then they got good and got new flashy uniforms and everyone suddenly started forcing the le 12s meme. Same thing with the Pats, no one cared about them until Tom Brady came to be. Now both those franchises are among the top 10 most profitable. The Cowboys I believe are still #1 but that is just because they had one of the all time greatest dynasties in NFL history, same thing with the Niners.
The Chargers have really never been great. Even when they made the owl they got BTFO. Spanos is pretty much entirely to blame for them being flat out bad since he took over. He passed on an elite coach, got rid of Marty, and the only reason the team has had streaks of being ok is because of Rivers, who the team got by complete blind luck. They HAD to pick between two elite quarterbacks, had the choice been between picking say Ryan Leaf and Philip Rivers you can bet your ass Spanos would have gone with Leaf.
We're so damn close to real football. Summer can fuck off already.

Selling out games doesn't mean shit, the Browns have sold out every game too since X year (I don't remember when).
There is more that goes into a team's money flow than tickets. Merchandise is a major part too, especially seeing as how jerseys alone are $100 a piece.
The Chargers I don't even think sold out many games this season, or at least looking at their crowds in the games they didn't. I also see roughly 75-90% of their stadium is typically filled with away team fans. I know San Diego is a military city since they have major ports there so they likely have people from all over, but still holy shit.

The overall team is alright, apart from Agholor, but who the hell did you take in the 1st round? I hope to god you didn't take AJ Green over DeAndre Hopkins, Dez or a top RB
>>69580931
You do know he retired don't you?

>Steve Smith
I've noticed him going undrafted in 10 man standard leagues, and I do not understand it at all. I know he's coming back from an achilles injury and he's 37 etc., but why wouldn't you take a chance on him late? I've been grabbing him in the 13th/14th as my WR5 and I'm very happy with that. If he shits the bed, then I'll just pick up a FA
Will we ever see coaches in suits on the sideline again?
>packers

bunch of dumb nerds ITT
Nice!

The Eagles are going to the playoffs and go one and done, and there is nothing you can do to stop it

we are going to go 9-7 and there is nothing either of us can do about it.

Who else here is looking forward to seeing Keenan Allen be really great for the 3 games he plays this season? I'm fucking pumped.

Who are the top ten running backs off all time?
My list would probably go like this, based on the player as a whole:
1. Jim Brown
2. Barry Sanders
3. Walter Payton
4. Emmit Smith
5. Ladanian Tomlinson
6. Marshall Faulk
7. Curtis Martin
8. Eric Dickerson
9. Marcus Allen
10. Tony Dorsett
I'm curious how others would order their list.

>the G unironocally doesnt even stand for Green Bay
>literally chose the colors of puke(puke green and cheese yellow)
>wouldnt even exist if it wasnt for their divisional rival bailing their ass out
>literally have a whiny bitch boy as a QB
F@m you better examine yourself as a person if you think the Packers are the coolest thing around.
>>69588049
>>literally named themselves after packaging meat/cheese
having a cool blue-collar history is better than all the plastic teams
>>literally decided a G was a good logo
it is
>>the G unironocally doesnt even stand for Green Bay
who cares? and it practically does outside of a neat piece of trivia.
>>literally chose the colors of puke(puke green and cheese yellow)
unique and enduring color scheme and objectively top 3 uniforms
>>wouldnt even exist if it wasnt for their divisional rival bailing their ass out
potentially. I have no shame for my teams history, which I believe to be the greatest in the NFL
>>literally have a whiny bitch boy as a QB
ironically only whiny haters think this
The Green Bay Packers = coolest sh*t around
Aaron Rodgers = MVP off the 2016 season and SB LI MVP

>>69588556
I shoulve clarified that I was choosing retired players only. As for OJ I see the argument, honestly choosing for the last half of the list is so crowded and a shitshow. I chose marcus due to versatility.

watch him ball out with Hundley in preseason and win the 3rd receiver spot

>>69587986

One of those things is not like the others. Apart from that great list
>>69582320
>>69588954
I like Sterling Shepard and Antonio Gates late but why the fuck would you draft Eddie Lacy in the 3rd? I get if he falls to the 5th round or something but you could get a Matt Forte or a high end WR instead
If you got say Keenan Allen or a Brandin Cooks in the 3rd instead of Lacy that draft would be a solid 9 but that WR corps will have you finishing 7-7 in a real league
>>69589304
Allen was grabbed early by someone reaching if I recall correctly, not sure about Cooks. I have the back up to both Bell and Starks so I'm set if their is injury issues. Lacy had a down year last season for sure but he is looking to enter camp at a decent weight and if he is anything like he once was that pick will be the steal of the draft. I have my Flex spot set for the season and don't have to worry about RBs at all. If I manage to keep an eye on FA I could grab some nobody who comes from nowhere to be a good WR2 and I'll be fine.

Marshall Faulk only had 2 1000 yard seasons in the 2000s.
Hes one of the 5 best RBs of all time, but hes not top 10 for the 2000s.
>>69589304
>>69582320
I really like the team senpai, I have reserves about Julian edelman being your #1 because he's just not very durable
And it's going to sound really Homer like but I think lacy will fuck shit up this year, he's in shape, the offensive line looks healthy and incredible and the passing game is a real threat again
>>69589916
are you retarded? what possible benefit could there be to starting wentz week 1 of the 2016 season?

>I want to believe
Every year they do this to me. At the end of every season I think "That's it, I'm fucking done. They've pulled every offseason trick in the book there is, I'm not going to let them get me again next year."
And every year, offseason rolls around, and they somehow, ONCE AGAIN, find a way to spark that barest, tiniest bit of hope in my cold dead heart, giving me just the sliver of an idea that maybe, JUST MAYBE, this will be the year the pain ends.
Hi, my names gullible, and I'm a Miami Dolphins fan.
