What is the best spectator sport?
(Aside from soccer)
Hockey
Naumachia
Darts.
basketball if you can get good seats. hockey is only good live. but nothing really compares to racing in a live setting.
>>69526330
Shitposting on /sp/.
>>69526370
I love hockey on TV
baseball
it is fucking boring to watch on tv but until you've been to a game you can't appreciate how comfy it is.
>>69526376
Not trying to shitpost. I'm genuinely just looking for a new sport to get into, and looking for suggestions.
>>69526425
Going backwards
>>69526330
>(Aside from soccer)
Playing soccer is much better than watching it
>>69526354
why can't we have nice things anymore?
In time
>>69526330
>(Aside from soccer)
Why even mention it? Soccer's a shitty spectator sport.
Missed, fuck
>>69526402
>>69526419
at least you tried
cricket, most certainly.

I've never been a sports fan, but I really like MMA.
Most sports have a fixed time that they run for, without the possibility of the match ending suddenly. There can be a lot of downtime with not much happening when you watch live (baseball, football in between plays, tennis in between every point). MMA avoids that, but of course many fights are boring and go to decision (nothing is perfect).
Perhaps one disadvantage is that viewers aren't really "told" who to cheer for, unlike other sports where you always have the default choice of your city's team or country. If you restrict yourself to only caring about a few fighters then there isn't that much stuff to watch, but if you want to watch people fight for the sake of the sport then I think it's ideal.
hockey (especially playoffs) and mma
>>69526354
This looks fucking cool
Handball.
Tennis and curling.
Good MMA fights are really good but most of the times it's boring hugging. Pretty gay to be desu.
>>69526663
no need to "to be t b h" tbqh familia
Aside from that I agree with you, idk why but curling is soothing to watch
>>69526354
They also used flamethrowers
>>69526383
Baseball is easily the most comfy sport. Going to a game is great.
I love football, but I can't stand going to games. I can barely see the field most of the time, can't hear what's going on, and it's hot a lot of times. I have a much better time watching in HD on my couch.
Hockey is objectively the best spectator sport
>quick shifts and on the fly line changes mean everyone on the ice is giving it at least 90%, if not 100%
>hitting
>fighting
>stan lee
>diving isnt as bad as soccer/basketball(where you can barely touch your opponent)
>the end of the game isnt dragged down by several timeouts, or the winning team trying to run the clock by faking injury or by getting the ball outside the field like NFL
>playoff OT
>no street/hiphop culture like NBA/NFL, no posh bullshit like in soccer
>the part of soccer that is supposed to be the best, in the box, is most prone to diving

Motocross

PLEASE WATCH OUR SPORT

>(Aside from soccer)
>>69528925
>lacrosse
Fuck live or not, I dont wanna watch that anyway
>football
Horrible live, there are so many breaks it's ridiculous
Baseball.
Baseball on tv is utter shit
>>69526383
Baseball is pretty great, but you don't really pay attention to the game even when you're there
It's great for a lazy evening drinking beers, bullshitting with old guys, and hollering at qts tho
>>69528970
You don't do any of these but drinking beer.
>>69528950
but if you don't like brakes why do you want to watch cars instead, that doesn't make any sense
>>69528970
i imagine a baseball game being a careful struggle to balance being too intoxicated to be bored by your surroundings, but not so intoxicated that you get clocked by a foul ball or fall down about a hundred stairs
Test cricket
Endurance racing
Cycling
I actually like shorter forms of cycling more than grand tours but I guess I have a theme going on.
>>69526370
High def hockey is the best.
>>69528925
Yes, by far. And no, generally not interested in racing but have attended a few. My ranking is only based on sports I've attended.
The shit tier is unbelievably shit live, tho NFL redzone makes NFL borderline good/great on tv.
>>69528934
Have never sat ringside, but have always wanted to. Imagine it's great.
Ice hockey seems like something that you can only really appreciate if you actually play it.
>>69529018
>finnish goaltending
>>69529008
Stage race cycling is fairly boring live unless it's a circuit or mt finish. Arriving early and driving/riding the course is kinda nice, but otherwise it's a few hours of waiting and at best 5 minutes of sporadic action. A grand tour may be a different beast though. Following the tdf in an rv from start to finish I imagine being a wonderful experience. But that's not so much about the sport as it is the atmosphere and travel.
>>69526390
I think he meant that shitposting on /sp/ is the best spectator sport.
Top level boxing is on another level.
>>69526390
If you're in Ireland then motorcycle racing is the right answer.
College football.
... and its' not even close.
>>69528978
Not all of us are autistic, friend
Fug!
My dick is like a chestbuster right now! Or more like a nutbuster!!!!
>>69529071
or if you, you know, have ever seen ice before
The problem with sports like football, hockey, and soccer is if you're seated at one end, it's often hard to see what's going on when the action is at the other end. Something like baseball you can always see everything that's happening.
>>69528885
The fuck u talking about nigga
Where in the Midwest r u from? Chicago suburbs here, our youth hockey league was always full as fuck. A bunch of Asians put their kids in hockey leagues thinking that it's a good sport for us to play, until some big white nigga flattens us on the ice
Hockey is insanely popular in Chicago
>>69529263
Shouting at random people is quite autistic. Still, you don't do those other things.
>>69529288

Blitzball
>>69529229
fucking, this
Also, I thoroughly enjoy being more than a spectator at amateur wrestling events. I used to go to the one run by Booker T in Houston, monthly with my college bros. Highly recommended.
>>69526330
Lingerie football
and pretty much any women sport
>>>>69526330
the best spectator sport in the world is Gaelic Football hands down
>Very fast paced
>Plenty of scoring
>Very physical
>Played by real men unlike the soccer pansies or American ''''men'''' in body armour
>Requires a huge amount of skill and athletic ability to play
>All players are amateurs and only do it for the love of the game, i.e. they aren't filthy hoors just in it for the money
hurling is the same except with weapons and even larger testicles
>>69531360
Houstonfag?
>>69528701
Unless it's Vancouver or Montreal
>>69528950
Box Lacrosse is great, it's fast and lots of goals without being too many that it makes them worthless (like basketball)
>>69532398
A sport which rewards kicking the ball 30m over the goal is retarded.
