Do we really? Other than Ronaldo and Pepe, what world class players do we have? All of the great players you're used to seeing on our nt have been either leaving or going to shit. Nani is a washed up flop who had to return to the fucking Portuguese league for a season, and he's only now managed to find a place on a team after a reasonably good showing in the Euro, and it's Valencia, which is good but not amazing. Quaresma has been playing on retirement fund leagues forever. Moutinho and Ricardo Carvalho were good before they spent a couple of seasons rotting in Monaco (and Carvalho is fucking 38 years old). And the rest of our team is a bunch of unproven 20 year old kids from Portuguese clubs or third rate foreign teams. They played well, but do you expect João Mário and William Carvalho to dominate in the euro cup?
If having stars such as José Fonte and Raphael Guerreiro means that we have to play beautiful football, then every team in the world has to play beautiful football. We did what we could with what we had, which wasn't much.
That's why so many of us get salty when people complain about our football. We had the worst portuguese nt in decades, but they still managed to win by doing what they had to.
