It's just different. In F1 you pretty much know who is going to win. It's nicknames "HAMROSVE_" for a reason.
In Indycar and in American Sports in general, there is much more parity. There are literally 15 cars in this race that could win.
Plus there's much more wheel-to-wheel racing, more overtaking, more pit stops. More elements to add randomness to the proceedings.
The two things F1 and European sports in general have over this is
1. The events are way too long. This race will be almost 3 hours probably. 2 is more than enough
2. The commercials. Fuck commercials.

Daly was under the 105% performance clause.
The car retired as a result, Dale Coyne has been absolutely out to lunch on every oval because that's where your engineers and general car setup are hugely important.
Daly is a good driver, but the team he's with can't let him show it outside of road and street courses, but even then you have to overcome a poor car setup with Coyne.
F1 fans are such uptight pretentious little fuckheads. I love F1 personally and I never miss a race, but my god the fanbase is borderline intolerable.
Out of NASCAR, Indy, and Formula1, F1 is easily the most boring and has the worst racing. Not saying its bad, but its comparatively worse than the other two. There is a ridiculous disparity between the teams, such much so that the same team (Mercedes) essentially wins all the races for 3 years straight. There is a lot that can be done to make F1 better and instead they give us ugly halo and stupid radio rules.
NASCAR and Indycar put on exciting races almost every week, though they both have some problems as well.
