I think maybe he might have a better chance against Cain or Reem this time around just based on the fact his diverticulitis is gone and he's actually in proper shape like when he bashed Mir's skull into the back of his head and when he somehow withstood Carwin and beat him. I remember that one, Carwin was undefeated at that point and was lighting people up.
I know it's a tired excuse but I'm not using it as an excuse, he lost those fights. He was obviously able to compete, he chose to fight at less than 100% which is admirable but the fact remains he did get beat. Now given the fact he's in good health and back in near-peak physique I think he would make the HW division very interesting again.

Some WWE round freak fighting a fat can mashing Samoan was literally the most interesting fight on the card. He looks in excellent shape I'd say, his cardio should be on par or else it will be after finally getting back in the cage. I think he was honestly just amped up, he seemed almost jolly in his demeanor. There was no mean streak, he was just having a blast and still showcased his athleticism and raw core strength.
Smarter/faster Reem would be a unique challenge but I think if anything it would make them perhaps more evenly matched with a slight edge to Brock in grappling and a slight edge to Reem in striking, Brock has the better chin though, well he did anyways, we'll see if that really gets tested..
He did seem pretty hesitant, I don't think the moment got to him or anything, I think he just genuinely didn't know quite how he was going to attack Brock because really, what can you do when you're at such a height and reach disadvantage and you're a pure striker? That's not even accounting for Brock's abnormal speed for his size and his wrestling skills, which aren't as technically sound, have a brutality to them that makes them not as boring as say Cormier.
I went into it all week saying Hunt was gonna walk-off(Muh meme) on Lesnar. Then that shit changed once I saw Lesnar step into the cage, it was clear as fucking day. Hunt definitely knew he was fighting a stark uphill battle and I think he just tanked through and did what he could to at least not get totally romped.

Casuals are obviously wrong and should be ignored. However that doesn't change the fact that the card was a disappointment. Even with the replacements the card was so stacked from top to bottom you just assumed it had to be good. Through 3 straight nights of fights it was ok but nothing special.
Add in the upcoming cards and the GOAT month of fighting might turn into a huge disappointment. Ferguson vs Chiesa which was supposed to happen Wednesday is off and Rumble vs Glover which was supposed to be in 2 weeks is also off. Then aside from Robbie fighting at 201 that looks mediocre as well. I wont complain about having this many cards but this is a clear case of quantity not quality.

I think that's his point. The key isn't stopping the take because Brock is just too fucking strong to rely on stopping every takedown. The key is being able to out grapple him from the bottom. Reem whooped his ass last time and I think a large part of it was that Brock wasn't able to muscle him, and taking away Brock's physical avantadge takes away his most potent weapon. In the post USADA era, I don't see anyone being able to take that advantadge away from him.
I think the top five are too much for him of course, but being able to get up from the TD is a lot more important that stopping the TD when it comes to brock I think

I think we might be getting into a point in the sport where 40+ year olds MIGHT still be competitive. You're seeing it in a lot of sports,guys aging like wine and performing at high levels because of commitment to fitness and conditioning. This will be interesting to see going forward..
They need a superstar badly, a likable one with some sort of staying power. Conor is a combination of location(Ireland fucking half a day away), the Diaz fight, and the shit with Dana, he's cooled off significantly.
Based Brock was on a mission the first time around, trying to crossover and prove he could hang. This time around he's the 'decorated veteran' so to speak with the mass fan/press appeal. The guy puts asses in seats across the arenas, bars, and homes. He's their biggest potential draw right now and everyone knows when the heavyweight division is poppin', that's when combat sports enjoy a nice bloom.
And I've all over Joanna because she's literally the female version of my favorite fighter, Chuck Liddell. That and she has eyes that could make me fall in love with ease.

When scoring was supposed to change to include pressure, it was because a points fighter could run the whole time. I swear I was the only one watching this card. Lesnar ran for a full 5 minutes in the 2nd to regain himself, Hunts chasing him down – and they docked HUNT a point with a 9-9 round? They called that round a draw? Really? Aldo ran for 3 rounds, only stopping to counter here and there, and while I think I’d give him the edge overall if I had to, calling him DOMINANT!~! ERMAHZGERD! (and the same "Brock is back") is ridiculous. Aldo didn’t remotely look like "Aldo of old". He looked scared of every punch.
Brock is back? Why? Because he gassed in the first, ran around for the second and took a nap in the third? He’s a wrestler and he couldn’t do a dang thing with a striker in full or half guard. He looked weak (per se), tired, and unskilled.
The same thing kept happening across the card in almost every fight. Rounds given to guys running. We were supposed to end this crazy way of winning. The fact Hunt could initially adjust so easily to stuff him should tell these fighters something. It’s partly their fault this farce of a card went on too. Acting like it’s some great, monstrous, wondrous card… perhaps they were preparing for the Olympic track and field viewing coming up? Guess they got confused. Because I would hope real fans would see this card for what it was, a pile of crap, made not to sell casual fans on MMA, but to cash out, scream about "record breaking" and let it carry them quickly to 201 to forget 200. If I was a first time viewer for whatever reason, I’d think I couldn’t possibly have made it through to Nunes awesome performance. Her battle being last was the only saving grace as a headliner so that was the freshest thing in people’s minds and I’m sure Zuffa and Co. are back there counting cash hoping everyone remembers Nunes instead of the snoozers we got.
