You realize he was a great college wrestler before wwe, right?

A physical freak of athleticism who was one of the greatest NCAA wrestlers ever happens to be good at MMA, shocking

That he can beat him by pro wrestling and UFC rules

He even tried to body slam him but Mark kept grabbing the cage

Everyone knows that pro wrestlers are the apex of combat athletes.

This shouldn't be surprising.

Cena-Lesnar at Extreme Rules 2012 is the best match of this decade, best of all time behind the Magnum TA-Tully I Quit match
>>
>>69423415
Ehhhh. Listen to his post-fight interview. Explains entirely why he needs a manager (arguably the best possible manager) in the WWE

Pro wrestling is stage combat,a legitimate theatrical discipline. If you don't have the charisma and stage presence, you're not going to be great. Brock had and has all the physical tools, but apparently nigga was too lazy/dumb for acting classes

>>
I think wrestlers now are more apt to be fighters than the were 20+ years ago. Back then all you did was roids/be 6/5+ and you were made.

But now you have to actually be legitimately fit or capable of great athleticism to be able to make it, on top of cutting great promos.

I'd actually love to see someone like Kevin Owens in UFC. He's an athletic fatty, and I've seen worse in the UFC win.

>>
>>69424612
WWE is essentially combat stuntwork performed live. Yes, the outcomes are written, but the physical aspect is very real.

Plus, a lot of pro-wrestlers used to have actual collegiate wrestling experience and have worked out (and been juicing) the majority of their careers. They are strong as all fuck and have a solid technical base to start MMA
>>
>>69424855
he's too old now but yeah angle would have fucked up everyone if he had gone to mma instead of wrestling in the 90s, mark coleman/matt hughes/etc. all were dominant and angle was a better grappler than any of them

Any one in the whole UFC can kick his ass in RL fight ?
>>
>>69424612
Wrestling has it's own parameters on how opponents should compete against each other

The same goes for Judo,Taekwondo, Boxing, Olympic Greco-Roman and UFC itself

Before UFC became monotonous, fighters from every fighting style would come to compete. These new MMA-tarded fans don't know how to take new blood coming in when originally this was the norm. Fighters were embraced for showcasing their unique style
>>
>>69425134
True, but you're ignoring the big ol' elephant that it isn't actually competitive. It has more in common with stage combat, which is a legitimate theatrical discipline that people spend years studying and perfecting in order to give the audience the experience of violence to move a storyline while minimizing actual harm to the actors

And there are many martial arts that are similarly choreographed. It's not about winning an actual fight; it's performance art. It's just that pro wrestling has connotations and traditions that align it with a target audience that wouldn't know the term "performance art" from a hole in the ground
>>
>>69425247
>that it isn't actually competitive.

That's Your own very false assumption.
It's your incredibly biased opinion, I'll just say you're wrong and obviously not a true old school UFC fan

You're part of the new crop that actually enjoys (and probably gets a hard-on) from watching the same old boring butt squeezing leg pulling style over and over again.

The UFC is not a fighting style. This is not why it was created, it's what it turned into and online tap-out faggots like you seem to be the only ones who find enjoyment in their terrible fights

I look forward in seeing more pro wrestlers get into the game, they represent some of those still yet to be represented inside the cage
>>
>>69424944
No one can lift Big Show, except other wrestlers with Big Show's assistance.

I doubt if Big stood his ground no MMA fighter could take him down

>>
>>69424291
Sakuraba is so fucking cool. His match with Minoru Suzuki last year was fun
>>
>>69425568
Most of today's wrestlers have
>Legitimate wrestling backgrounds
>Legitimate professional training in "wrestling"
>Have martial arts backgrounds
>Football (NFL or College football) backgrounds

To say a WWE person in today's age is not an athlete is just a flat out lie, this isn't the territorial age where it's just alcoholics who won the genetic lottery of being 6'6.
>>
>>69425476
When I say that it isn't competitive, I'm referring to pro wrestling. I prefer the old Pride fights to current UFC, because you got to see strict adherents to specific disciplines going against one another, rather than the current blandness with emphasis on certain specialties

But ultimately, I prefer pro wrestling. Sports are all about the storyline, and pro wrestling, when done well, can tell amazing stories. Because at its heart, it's theater

Yeah, they just sat around and played patty cake inside the ring
>>
>>69425657
>every bump and broken bone is as real as the money it draws in every year.

No, they're not as real. They learn how to deliver blows to look damaging without bring as harsh as they appear, and they learn how to receive blows without causing what would otherwise be severely injury

They're tough sum bitches that have to take a lot of punishment, but taking those bumps straight up would get them killed very quickly
>>

Yeah because suplexing someone sure is easy.

Especially being told to do it 20 plus times.

Then being asked to be put through a table.

Half-assing it for sure.
>>

Mostly just speaks to the quality of the UFC, that technical ability is so much less relevant and necessary than sheer athleticism
>>
>>69425657

I doubt that. UFC fighters get heemed every week, and getting heemed is way worse for you than anything a wrestler sustains.

>>69425802
Do you honestly think manhug fags get THAT injured outside of some gaches and bruises?
>>
>>69425786
To properly perform a pro wrestling suplex, most of the responsibility is on the guy getting suplexed
>>
>>69425819
The responsibility is on the guy getting suplexed to take the bump correctly and not absolutely paralyze himself while getting ragdolled.

I'm not saying it's not safe, but these guys aren't also light people, yeah maybe once isn't anyrthing to Brock but realize his moveset is now consistent of 15-30 suplexes constantly on a man who weighs on average 200-300 pounds all the while having to give them their moves on you as well.

If you've ever see a Brock match, the guy looks like a fucking pink cherry tomato by the end of it covered in sweat.
>>
>>69425814
Yes, do you think they literally just punch each like it's not actually real or something?
>>
>>69425886
They tend to stop the match before it gets too real

:)
>>
>>69425896
That's because they're actually fighting. That doesn't mean they aren't hurting each other

You know because they're actually doing something
>>
>>69425865
The guy getting suplexed is also pushing up with his legs to assist the pull, and stiffening his body to make it easier

I'm not saying any random jagoff on the street could do what Brock does. But for the average WWE wrestler, particularly given his sporadic appearance schedule, it's not that difficult
>>
That Brock fight was yet another great reminder that MMA is complete boring garbage.
Wrestling is where it's at, familia.

MMA is the equivalent of watching a Military or Cop reality show
Wrestling is the equivalent of watching Die Hard
>>
>>69425932
Brock was a slacker in his appearance before this UFC debacle, his last matches he started to look a little bit pudgy in the gut, probably because he didn't have to worry about gaining weight of course.
>>
>>69425960
It's been pretty well-established that Brock only does anything for the money, whether it's WWE, UFC, or even NFL. If the paycheck is the same, why would he give a fuck?
