Best local beers are Schlüssel, Schuhmacher, Füchschen, Uerige in that order, Schlüssel is located on the main old town street (Bolker Straße), Füchschen is on the parallel street (Ratinger Straße), little Kiosks where you can buy beer, cigarettes etc are pretty much everywhere, smoking weed is fine as long as you don't blow smoke in cops faces (I'd go to the Rhine promenade for that if i were you), food is alright in the breweries, but it's mostly old fashioned German "cuisine" like Schnitzel, Haxe, Sausages etc, you also have McDonalds, KFC, BurgerKing, etc, best cheap Pizza place imo is Colosseo (sp?) only like 5 buck, its on the same street as Füchschen brewerie, Oldtown should be full of casual cuties dressed in black red gold, as well. Hope you'll have fun.

The Altbier is only served in 0.25 L glasses (cost like 1.90€, not more than 2€), if you order a Weizen or something it's the usual tall glasses, pils is probably availlable in pint glasses, there are also like 3 or 4 Irish Pubs if you prefer that, you can also buy Altbier at the Kiosks, though, most bottles (Schlüssel/Füchschen/Uerige)come in 0.5L bottles (about 2.50-3 but you can give them back and get 0.50 in return), Schumacher is exclusively sold in 1L bottles.
Also, the waiters at the breweries might come across as rude at first, but they just like to "take the piss", it's pretty much expected of them to crack little jokes and stuff, tipping is not mandatory, but at least rounding up the numbers will be greatly appreciated, in case the Oldtown or the brewerie of your choice is crowded as fuck it makes sense to order a couple of more beers right away, since waiting for the next round can get pretty annoying.

Don't go. Watch it at home or a half filled bar with a couple of friends if you can, you will enjoy the experience much more.
Watching it on a square on the big screen is a horrible experience in my opinion. Loud speakers blasting shitty 'party' music before, between and after games. So loud you can barely understand a word if somebody next to you is saying something, pretty sure i have hearing damage from the last time.
Expect to be showered with beer every time your team scores a goal so wear cheap clothing. Expensive beer (which people seem to throw away anyway). Dumb people dressed up as clowns in their countries colors, dancing and throwing shit upside down. Just an allround horrible very normie experience.
Just watch it at a quiet bar with some friends, thank me later.
