What does /sp/ think of the new name of the German team "Die Mannschaft"
I think it works quit well for the international market:
the Mannschaft
la Mannschaft
But for for the German language "die Mannschaft" sounds very generic. I quess we would need a catchy song (e.g. from Sportfreunde Stiller) with "die Mannschaft" in the refrain in order to make this name more popular
It doesn't sound gay at all.
It sucks.
>>69321814
>portugal
>not gay
I don't like it, feels forced.
I'd prefer "Das Regiment" or "Die Kompanie".
>>69321790
sounds like Man's Shaft lol
>>69321859
>I'd prefer "Das Regiment" or "Die Kompanie".
Sounds very generic in French or English though, since it's just French words.
>>69321790
>die mannschaft
>feminine
sounds about right, 3/2*polandbro
>>69321790
literally forced to appeal to foreigners
uninspired "das auto" ripoff
>>69321906
You mean latin words
>>69321790
Its a uncreative marketing meme to force German words into other languages.
VW did this with "Das Auto" aswell.
>>69321910
>die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika
indeed
>>69321906
same as die mannschaft, it's super generic. we call every single team mannschaft.
>>69321790
It's like "Seleção" for us. So we don't see any problem with it.
>>69321790
>la mannschaft
ALERTA ALERTA ANTIFACISTA
This fucking tryhard "we're so worldly" because we use spanish/italian/french articles annoys me greatly.
What is the nickname of your team lads ?
Here in France it's "Les Bleus"
>>69321790
Die man shaft? Are they full blown feminazis or something?
>>69322229
>You mean latin words
I mean French. As in, genuinely came there from the French language in both German and English.
>>69322509
It's obviously a reference to the Euro.
>>69321790
>the man shaft
>>69322509
I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the fact that the euro is being played in France.
>>69322620
>It's obviously a reference to the Euro.
I couldn't give less of a shit. It's some forced meme some "creative" cunt with framed glasses had while riding a long board. What will they come up for the WC in Russia? Sucka blead Mannschaft?
>>69321790
They stole the NA'VI font
>>69322620
>As in, genuinely came there from the French language in both German and English.
you're retarded then because both words were used by the romans long before your language was invented.
>>69322831
The words came from French become of French influence, period. It's visible through the entire military lexical pretty much every in Europe. Open an etymological dictionary you bloody fucktard. Of course it was present in Latin, and it's irrelevant to the subject matter.
God, and to say that there used to be a time Germans were the leading authority in philology and historical linguistics. Bunch of fucking clowns.
>>69322701
Like Cyka Blyat Mannschaft wouldn't be based as fuck.
>>69322292
>der Staat
>die Staaten
did you learn German at a refugee camp?
PS: also fuck you for making me defend some amerifat because of your uneducatedness
>>69322701
watch this http://sites.arte.tv/karambolage/de/video/karambolage-25
>>69323296
there should be also a French version of this video
for people who speak neither German nor French:
They explain the term "la Mannschaft" was first used by a French newspaper talking about the German team.
The management of the German team liked this name and decided to use it from now on.
>>69322542
Je croyais que c'était plutôt "Les Noirs" ou "Les Bougnoules"
>>69322787
Just googled that.
Some next level cringe.
>>69322542
Huuhkajat
>>69321790
>"Mannschaft"
>new name
What m8? Even 20 or 25 years ago, the German team was nicknamed "la Mannschaft" in France
