The fact is that Messi's wage taxes paid by the club, the tourism, and value adding revenue (shirt sales, promotions, football match tickets) generated by Messi being in Spain alone is worth more than the 5m they didnt-then-did pay - not just in taxes paid to the tax office but also the run on effects to other people in the economy (multiplier effect)
