Does this guy have any chance?

No. Might finish 4th
>>
He will finish 4th and renuw for 10 years
>>
>>69275833
he usually finishes 4th except for the anomaly of this year. top 6
>>
>>69275793
You know, Wenger should be happy that Mou insulted him in the press conference. When Pep was naming all of his great managerial competition in the PL this year, he forgot Wenger. At least Mou knows he is alive.

>‘I don’t think just this year, in the past as well, there are good managers with [Jurgen] Klopp, with [Antonio] Conte, with [Claudio] Ranieri, [Jose] Mourinho, [Mauricio] Pochettino, [Ronald] Koeman – but the reason I work here is just to help the players.
>>
I wonder what would his career be like if the so-called "invincibles" (they lost in the CL to Chelsea) actually lost a couple of games in the premier league. Like, if it was just another good team and didn't have that untouchable aura.
>>
>>69277070
ayy based Poop
>>
>>69277166
You know Ruud Van Nistlerooy, one of the best strikers in Prem history, missed a 90th minute penalty that would have broken that undefeated season.

12 fucking draws, too, so they only got 90 points.
>>
>>69277070
>You know, Wenger should be happy that Mou insulted him in the press conference.

Mourinho said "some managers haven't won a title in 10 years, some have never won one". He never mentioned Wenger (who hasn't won a title in 12 years), and we all know that Mourinho has no problem overtly calling Wenger out if that's what he wanted to do.
>>
No but Arsenal doesn't need titles to stay popular, and that's all that matters in the EPL
>>
>>69277644
So who do (You) think he was talking about?
English press and fans know the answer.
>>
>>69275793

>>
>>69277644
You are fucking delusional if you think he asn't talking about Wenger.

Mourinho loves his indirect feminine digs at Wenger.

Mourinho is absolutely right in having those digs at Wenger. Since the fuckin' english press is so soft on Wenger failures, at least Mourinho says the truth. Wenger is nothing but a one trick pony, that even his "best years" never managed to win back to back leagues, despite having an amazing squad.
Besides Mourinho only attacks Wenger, the manager and the person, he was never disrepectuful towards Arsenal.
>>
>you now remember arsenal fans celebrating like crazy because they finished 2nd in May
>>
>>69286642
>t. Alberto Barbarosa

Also, the fact you think the English press is soft on Wenger means you've never fucking read it. Mourinho has spent more on transfers in his few seasons at Chelsea than Wenger has spent in the last 20 years. It's easy to brag about winning when you've got a bottomless pit of money to weaken the teams around you, ruin careers of players you bought, and rolling the dice on every meme player who performed well (Crespo, Mutu, Deco etc etc) at the time. Not just Mouyes thou.
>>
I bet any money that Arsenal finish above Man City and Man Utd again this year.
>>
>>69286695
No, they did not. They celebrated the fact that, with 4 games left, needing a single win to beat Arsenal for the first time in decades, Spurs fucked up. They even managed 2 draws and needed one final draw against an already relegated Newcastle, who had nothing to play for, who had 10 men, and lost 5-1.

That's what was what was celebrated.
>>
>>69286765
And they celebrated it so hard that they forgot to lynch Wenger. It's almost like Spurs did it on purpose to make sure that Arsenal didn't hire Koeman.
>>
>>69277601
Only 90 points, haha losers!
>>
>>69286642
>Since the fuckin' english press is so soft on Wenger failures

It really isn't. The British media as a whole dickrides Arsenal 24/7, but Wenger doesn't get that same favorable treatment.
>>
>>69275793

Literally who?

You now remember Arsenal's "warchest" of £250M is being used as collateral for the owner's billion dollar ranch purchase, instead of buying a striker.

This. Press love Arsenal, they hate Wenger. Wenger is constantly shat on, if anybody wants proof, go read the articles prior to the FA Cup win in 13/14. It was ripping him a new asshole. They constantly shit on him saying he is old and busted. Which may or may not be true, but it's still objectively true that outside of the Metro, Wenger is attacked constantly.
>>
>>69287145
Yes? But the 'warchest' was never for transfers in the first place. The problem has been the board ever since Dien left, not Wenger. Wenger doesn't get money others do because the board know the amount needed to win the EPL and CL is not worth the money reward for doing so. They're happy with giving Wenger, at most, £40m a window (with the caveat that he can't spend it every single window) and watch him scrape Top 4 and maybe the FA Cup. Which lines their pockets.

Anybody who shits on Wenger doesn't see the fact he's been strangled by a board who cared more about turning Highbury into a block of luxury flats than keeping Arsenal relevant. That every sale of the players went into paying off the stadium.

The fact Wenger managed Top 4 with such players as Senderos and Santos is nothing short of miraculous. Look at Chelsea, they had spent £250m in two seasons and gone from 1st to 10th. Wenger improved to 2nd.

If the board actually gave Wenger the money, Arsenal would be a force to be reckoned with again and I worry for the day it happens, because it means my team (Saints) is going to be fighting for Europa all the harder. It would also help if we invested money into proper replacements, but Liverpool keep paying over the odds so whoc ares!
>>
Wenger's Arsenal squads have won the title ahead of Ranieri's Chelsea, sent Klopp's Dortmund out of the champions league and beaten both Pep's Barca and Pep's Bayern. He should be fine against those.

Mou is gonna tear him a new one, though
>>
>>69287270
> Improved

Fewer points and worse goal difference for three consecutive seasons isn't improvement

> Not allowed to spend money

That was a decent argument prior to summer of 13'. For the past three transfer windows Wenger has gotten precisely what he wanted. He just chooses to keep faith in meme players like Wilshere, Ramsey, Giroud, Walcott, Mertesacker, Campbell and Wellbeck.
>>
>>69287270
>They're happy with giving Wenger, at most, £40m a window (with the caveat that he can't spend it every single window)

He spent more than that on Ozil alone in 2013, then double that amount the following season to get Sanchez/Welbeck/Debuchy
>>
>>69287270
>>Anybody who shits on Wenger doesn't see the fact he's been strangled by a board
Wenger is complicit, conspiring with the board to do this. He gets increased salary and contract extensions for it. He is definitely not the victim; Arsenal fans are.

Bayern was last year and Barca was 10/11

>He just chooses to keep faith in meme players like Wilshere, Ramsey, Giroud, Walcott, Mertesacker, Campbell and Wellbeck.

And that sense of team solidarity is probably what allows Arsenal to consistently overachieve with a squad of relatively mediocre individuals

If Wenger suddenly started spending money like Mourinho he would also lose some of his strongest attributes as a manager
>>
>>69287980
> overachieve

The 2013-2014 squad had three world champions and barely scraped by 4th place. Since then, inspite of massive spending, it's only gotten worse.

How exactly is Wenger overachieving?
>>
>>69287980
>>If Wenger suddenly started spending money like Mourinho he would also lose some of his strongest attributes as a manager
Wenger has never beaten Mou. Ever.
>>
>>69287980
>consistently over-achieve

Arsenal has the 4th-highest wage bill, and usually finish 4th (or 3rd if one of the Big 3 collapses). Since Man City showed up in '08, they've finished 4th/3rd/4th/3rd/4th/4th/3rd/2nd. That's not really "consistently over-achieving", it's just staying at the same level and letting other clubs surpass you or fall below you.

>>
>>69288895
They are good but they aren't world-class, they are practically Real and Barcelona rejects.
>>
>>69288895
There were rumors both were stalling contract extensions until they had guarantees regarding the club's ambitions. What happened? Did they sign, or still stalling?
>>
>>69289092
ok I hate Arsenal as much as the next person but saying Sanchez and Ozil are not world class is just fucking stupid bro
>>
>>69289143
As far as I know they both haven't signed extensions yet. Probably waiting to see what happens at the end of next season first.
>>
>>69289244
Wonga had better get a striker then. The club would drop like a rock without them.
