ITT we fix footy
>>
Different pitches should have genuine gimmicks, like slopes, mounds, jump sections, etc. It'd make away goals mean something when you're scoring them on Atletico's Azerbajan Land of Fire sponsored pitch where the 6 yard box is all hot coals
>>
>>69262816
Have it like tennis where you have grass pitches but also clay and hard pitches, and for some special snowflakes, even carpet pitches. Then we we will "clay specialists" and such.Winning away from home will be such an achievement, like it used to be.
>>
How many balls on this pitch? If it's one it doesn't really do anything different.

Extra time should involve removing players every 10 minutes until a goal is scored
>>
>>69262844
First ones to be removed should be the keepers.

I always liked the idea of 100 or so people teams playing over an entire city, trying to bring 1 or more balls to the other side of the city and score in novelty goals (pic related).
Traffic is entirely halted and streets are closed to pedestrians, except for public transportations, which players are allowed to take.

You do know that it actually exists, right?

The winner is not the one that scored the most goals, but the one that condeded the least goals, which causes sides to ally and betray each others several times during a game.

Actually, it started as some social experiment, to study the behaviour of the 3 teams. The core of the game and the scoring system is here to cause the teams to ally against one team until one betrays the other and allies with its previous enemy, (rinse and repeat).

- Coin toss before the match will not determine which side the team chooses, or which team begins the game, but the winner gets to tickle the other teams captain for several minutes
- A mouse is released on the field every 10 minutes, and if a player steps on the mouse, he's put on time-out for 10 minutes and needs to stay perfectly still where he stepped over the mouse or be punished with a red card
- Referee is allowed to take part in the football action if he deems he could score a cool goal or an exceptionally nice throughpass or such
- During half-time, designated 8 players from the playing line-ups of each team need to stay on field to do a penalty shoot-out competition in case the game ends in a draw to determine the possible winner beforehand
- Both teams are given a single-use whistle which can be used to call a foul at any point during the match

There's a few suggestions to make the "sport" better

Why do they shove arbitrary shit rules into the beautiful game?

>penalty shootouts at the END of domestic league games
>penalty shootouts from THIRTY FIVE YARDS
>ninety minutes, absolutely no injury time because americans don't know how it works (inaugural years of MLS)
>>
Serious comment here:

give the ref less subjective power

hockey or handball style substitutions, yes this means unlimited subs

the 2 yellow 1 red rule is gone, it's the strictest rule in all of sporting history. Instead two yellow means that player has to be subbed and cannot be put back on

the objectively retarded rule of heading back to keeper being allowed is now gone

passive play foul like in handball, whenever someone does 900 passes without advancing (spain, farcelona et al) then they have to give the ball away

unforced, boring backpedaling play in the style of carrick is now frowned upon and may lead to yellow cards
>>
>>69267355
Not anymore. I kind of wish they did though.

> In the playoffs, the conference semifinals and conference finals were organized as best-of-three matches series. A shootout win counted as a win. Thus, a team could win two of the three matches by shootout and lose the other match in regulation and still advance to the next round. This was inconsistent with how the teams were rewarded during the regular season when the team with one win would have earned three points, and the team with two wins would have earned only two points.

How about no rematch then? At the end of 90 minutes they do 15 + 15. If it's still a draw they do another 15, and another, and another until someone scores.
>>
>>69268017
Playing for 180 minutes would still break the players and basically be a bye in the next round unless it was in a final where I rematch is a better choice since football is designed to be played for 90 minutes at a time.

The swift hammer of Soccer justice. This limp wristed approach to the sport is why I can't watch 25 mins of rolling around feigning injury, 60 minutes of your defenders passing the ball around aimlessly and 5 minutes of action or "football" as you call it. 6. Add two more balls
7. Proper Stadia with retractable roofs
8. Include Diving Judges from the olympics. Best dive of the match is the first tiebreaker in case of a 0-0, 1-1 tie.
9. Forced drug injections. 10 Players must take HGH/steroids/Amphetamines before the games. 1 Player must take LSD

CFB Playoffs are somewhat of an equivalent to the Champions League.

Each country's best teams go to a tournament to see who's the best since you don't get to play very often against teams from those other leagues. If you won more games than the rest of your teams in your conference (or in their case, league) you are considered the best in that conference. The only real difference is that you play against the teams in that conference once per season, which somewhat makes it a little biased towards home games. Also, if their leagues had playoffs, you would see different teams winning the league instead of who won the most games in that season, for example:

>Arsenal, they have a habit of doing good against top teams yet shitting the bed against minnows
>Sevilla, for their ridiculous home advantage that can beat just about every team on the planet
>>
>>69265029
You mean Italy
>>
I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2uk9u7jb78

But seriously:
Video refereeing is needed for penalties, offside and violent conduct. The referees are constantly undermined and contradicted by video replays on the big screens in the stadia. Why don't they make the technology work for them instead?

Leagues break ties using goals scored before goal difference to encourage attacking play.

No more extra-time. It's a waste that unnecessarily tires players during knock out competitions.

Bring back the straight knockout format in the Champions League without the away goals rule. I don't want to see anymore listless group stage thrashings like Barca reserves vs some minnows from Romania.
