Why are so many people pissed off at Durant? And I want serious answers not just shit posting. I don't get why people expect him to stay with OKC. Why stay with a team that REFUSES to address the real problems, why keep doing the same fucking thing over and over? He's doing the smart thing and going to the best team he can that PLAYS AS A FUCKING TEAM

Now granted he could've made his decision sooner as OKC is basically fucked out of other options, but all this hate is ridiculous. How much loyalty does the average person show on a daily basis, throughout their whole lives in fact? Yet athletes are held to this bullshit standard they have to stay with one team their whole career
>>
cuz he a bitch

fuck steph curry
fuck kevin durant
pull up on those bitches let them think that im Kobe
>>
>capitalizing words for emphasis

You need to be 18 years old to post on this website.

He's a bitch for wanting to win?
>>
Its not that he went to OKC, its that he went to a 73-9 team that barely knocked his already championship contending team out of the playoffs. Its the "can't beat em, join em" mentality thats aggravating most people. He could have gone to countless other teams in the NBA but he decided to go to the team with the most superstars anyway.
>>
>>69246239

You're autistic if you care THAT much
>>
Biggest bitchmade move I've ever seen. He can't win despite having plenty of help and can't beat GS. So what does he do? Joins a team that already beat him and is already the favorite to win it all just so that he can say he won a ring.
>>
>>69246283
>You're autistic if you care THAT much
The only autism here is on OP caring that much that a bunch of nobodies are calling Durant the lil bitch he is.
>>
>>69246268

And what's wrong with that? So if he leaves he has to go to a shitty team? Would you leave your job to take less money? So when is it acceptable? When he's 35 or older?
>>
>>69246081
I don't give a shit he didn't stay in OKC. The bitch move he made is in leaving OKC for GSW. He fucking choked like a massive bitch against GSW when they were up 3-1 and now he tucks in his tail and just joins them like the Servant he is.

Bitch ass nigga.
>>
>>69246360
>Would you leave your job to take less money
that's literally what he did
>>
>>69246081
His team was up 3-1 and chocked away a trip to the finals 3 times. Then he goes and turns around to the team that cucked him.
>>
Durant is a genius.
He know he will never win a ring as long as he's cursed. So how can he break the curse?
Join Lil B's team. B will lift the curse, KD will win a ring, everybody will acknowledge that KD is a fucking cuck.
>>
>>69246081

Fuck OKC and fuck the Thunder. This is the punishment for the team leaving its rightful place in Seattle. You are all collaborators. Your city will forever be known only as an involuntary demolition site, and never as a championship winning city.

Stay flyover.

Yes I mad.
>>
>>69246081
Adding KD to an already strong team, shifts the balance of competition. People don't want to watch a game where they already know who's gonna win.
>>
>>69246081
because he had a stacked team and couldnt close
>>
>>69246360
>Would you leave your job to take less money?
Thats exactly what he did. To join the team that knocked him out of the playoffs. To join the team that already had multiple superstars. Its a weak move imo but I don't blame him. If he wants championships its the fastest and smartest choice.
>>
>>69246432

>>
>>69246790
The difference is that Durant has no hometown affiliations with GSW.

If for example he moved back to D.C. and the Wiz had Wall and some other all-star to make a big 3 it would be understandable.

But leaving for a a rival team in your peak? BAKA.
>>
>>69246246
he's a bitch for needing other people to win his ring for him, lebron and jordon didn't
>>
>>69246268
>Its the "can't beat em, join em" mentality thats aggravating most people.

Why? KD wants work smarter not harder for his ring. There's nothing wrong with that.
>>
>>69246360
He took a pay cut for it. He just wants rings and he wants them now.

Which is fine. It's a logical step, but people are obviously going to rag on him, especially when OKC were shaping up so well and were a few bad possessions away from being finalists this year.

He will be remembered as a turncoat due to this, he's going to an already made team, filled with top tier players in their prime, a dynasty in the making. He won't be the reason they win. It will be different from him actually winning one in OKC; with or without Durant GSW are almost guaranteed for the finals. This just made the entire season much less competitive because we're looking at probably the most stacked team of all time.
>>
>>69247042
I dont give a shit personally. For KDs purposes its the best move to getting a chip. Makes the NBA shittier to watch though that's not his fault.
>>
>>69246081
Did Jordan join the Pistons when he couldn't make it past them?
Did 05 Nash join the Lakers when he didn't make it past them?
Did LeBron join the Celtics when he didn't make it past them?

For a little bitch who complains being the #2 guy all his life he is sure embracing it now. All his rings with the Warriors will have a little asterisk next to them.

Also not to forget his terrible postseason, Back to back 10-30 shooting from him in series clinching games. You can't simply put him over everybody else when he chocked big time during that series. Never seen an MVP with KD's bodylanguage during the final close minutes of game 6. Absolutely pathetic.
>>
>>69249575
>Never seen an MVP with KD's bodylanguage during the final close minutes of game 6.

How about the guy he just joined? Both a bunch of pussy ass soft niggas
>>
Because he single handedly ruined the sport and made it non competitive. It was bad enough this year.
>>
>>69246432
>the city that gave us starbucks and macklemore

>>
Because he went to the fucking Warriors, which as the Finals showed, are an unlikable ass team.

I wish he had gone to the Spurs so Pop could have made him a goat team player
>>
Stephen A Smith nailed it desu.

It's just a weak move. Lebron going to Miami was weak, but it's not nearly comparable to how weak this is. It also again reminds everyone how little parity there is in this league.
>>
>>69260056
>Stephen A Smith nailed it desu.
>
>It's just a weak move.

Stop sucking Lebron's dick for a moment and put a trip on Stephen A Smith.
>>
>>69260704

This is just as bad as Lebron Joining the Warriors if he lost 2 straight finals to them. JUST AS BAD
>>
>>69260704

It is weak. It is one of the most pathetic choices a "superstar" could make. If he wasn't a superstar then yeh he wants to win that's fine, nobody cared that Dave Westeros went to the spurs for heaps less to ringchase, but Durant is in his prime and a "superstar". So joining the team that you had on the ropes, and then eventually lost to in the biggest choke (that was overtaken by the choke in the next round) at the time, is pretty weak bruh.

no one is pissed @ durant. except for a weird twitter/espn bubble. he's a free agent, he got to choose a work environment he liked. it's such a straw man argument. that would only come from espn central & the lakers.
>>
If he was a real man we would've gotten Al Horford and Derozen to sign with the Mavs.
>>
also, can we get over over the lebatard argument that riley is a "pimp/gangster"? he lucked into wade, who ACTUALLY recruited LolBron to Miami. which will be a shit team for two decades.
>>
For one. Fuck OKC and what they did to the sonics. Can't wait until your team gets really bad and youre begging to move to a bigger market like Seattle.

Also, what the fuck is KD supposed to do to win in the next 3 or 4 years? OKC wasn't getting better. GSW and SAS wasn't getting worse. Fuck, with Pau going to the spurs they'd be the favorites next year. And then he still has to deal with the cavs even if he does make it to the finals.

So tell me, what was he supposed to do vs these stacked teams? Join em.

He is one of the best players in the league, he was on one of the best teams in the league, that team wasn't fucking around and was actively building talent around him

He then ran to a more talented team that eliminated his team because he lacks the heart to fight and win

He has proven himself to be a beta, people don't like sports betas
>>
>>69260750
>he got to choose a work environment he liked
guess he's always been not beta but omega tier

KD's nickname of The Servant came true

he's now Curry's personal butler

naw, steph will be his butler next season. but whatever. the warriors will lose the to cavs again. much to ethan strauss's confusion...

don't matter, the suns will own all these teams in '19.
>>
>>69260896
no Curry will be the Chief, KD the butler/servant, Klay the pool guy and Green the gardener

does Walton regret leave now that KD is in the team I mean Lakers lol right?
>>
I don't blame him for wanting to leave that shithole.

Hoping he beats the Thunderp in OKC and gives the crowd the Horns after a clutch play

>>
Lebron fan girls are mad because he eont win shit now.
>>
westbrook is one of the best players in the NBA but he's selfish and KD was not playing well with him enough to win a ring. sure he was one game away from reaching the finals but guess what, they didnt make it and it was both of their faults for that choke job. year after year they failed so why would he want to continue that saga? why go back to that when he has a chance to join a proven team that plays like a team, that has shooters and players who will complement him unlike what he had in OKC. don't bullshit and say the thunder had a great roster for him, it was him and russ with players who couldn't even do their jobs half the time. adams is not even an above average center, kanter is a liability on defense which is why he comes off the bench and never starts, roberson is trash, waiters was a chucker who wasn't even good at that, ibaka disappeared half the time and is now gone from that team. the thunder weren't gonna win the title this year with KD so its good he left that sinking ship.

go and hate on a man who wants to win, at the end of the day thats what every player wants to do....win. lebron left to chase rings, jordan needed the bulls to bring him help to win rings, kobe needed shaq and pau to win rings, KD just went to join up with steph/klay/dray to win rings.
>>
>>69246996
what does lebron's cock taste like?
>>
>>69246432
Seattle is a literal libcuck city of the highest order. Fuck off
>>
>>69246081
I understand leaving OKC (although leaving a top 5 player because you don't think you can win with him is a bit unprecedented, the mangement fucked up a couple of times), I think people take more issue with the fact that he joined the team that just beat him and is already stacked.

It shows sort of a lack of ambition when it's pretty much "if you can't beat them, join them". Nobody would be mad if he joined the Wizards or even the Cloppers.
>>
>>69246790
Football doesn't have salary caps.
>>
>>69247042
Rings only matter if you care about your legacy over making money and going to an already stacked team for less money makes sense for neither goal
>>

How about Lebron's 6 point game against Dallas?
>>

>>
As a very casual NBA watcher can someone explain to me how GSW are going to be unstoppable next year considering they have no Centre? Are they just going to win games 150 - 130 all year or something?
>>
>>69260796
>that team wasn't fucking around and was actively building talent around him
Disputable.
>trading Green for Perkins and overpaying Perkins for years
>letting Harden go for scraps
>letting Reggie Jackson go for scraps
>Dion Waiters
>trading Ibaka for Oladipo

I mean yeah, there's Westbrook and Adams but that's about it. Still looks like a bitch move but I certainly wouldn't consider OKC didwell in terms of putting KD in a position to win.
>>
>>69262249
It's because people see Curry/Thompson/Green/Durant and think they'll be gods. When in reality, there are now too many starts to do what they did this past year.
>>
>>69262086
>le selfish meme
>Not only is he second in the league in assists (a career-high pace of 10.4 per game), but he’s tops among point guards on winning teams (the Sacramento Kings’ Rajon Rondo leads with 11.7). What’s more, he is – according to information provided by NBA.com/stats – feeding Durant more than ever before. Of Durant’s 356 made field goals that were assisted, Westbrook has been responsible for 240 (67.4%). It’s a serious spike compared to the last regular season in which both superstars were able to stay (mostly) healthy: in 2012-13, Westbrook assisted on 56.7% of Durant’s made field goals (214 of 377).
>>
>>69262267
Durant will take some possessions away but they're basically replacing Harrison Barnes' minutes with him, it's tought to call it a downgrade.
>>
>>69262320
>Durant will take some possessions away but they're basically replacing Harrison Barnes' minutes with him, it's tought to call it a downgrade.
So...Durant, the guy who always complains about being the one who comes second, is going to let himself be the third wheel?

Amazing, at least he can't complain about coming second anymore...until Lebron beats him in the finals again.
>>
What has this sport become.... Winning used to be not only about getting a ring, but about beating your opponents as well. Now they join forces instead, they get rings without the hassle...
>>
>>69262396
Well he is The Servant™.
>>
This was literally /nba/ :
>Omg (insert team) is totally making playoffs now.
>Our draft picks are so going to win Finals now (delusional)

They had trouble facing reality. KD going to the warriors just made reality a reality to them after realizing how SHIT their team really is.
Talking to the knicks, 76ers, and celtics.
>>
>>69262451
>They join forces
Yeah man, what's durants problem? It's like players will never get traded, or move to a different team. Fuck! I thought the NBA wasn't an organization and a collection of employees!
>>
ask yourself if you really would want to play with westbrook.
>>
If this team doesnt win 2017 2018 2019 2020 it will be all for nothing
>>
>>69262592
at least the nigga plays hard.
>>
>>69262592
Sure, why wouldn't you?
He's a bit of a petulant autist but he's a great player and he plays ham, and he looks at least mildly fun to hang around. It's the rest of the roster that sucks.

On the other hand playing with the Warriors looks fun too.
>>

>I don't get why people expect him to stay with OKC. Why stay with a team that REFUSES to address the real problems, why keep doing the same fucking thing over and over? He's doing the smart thing and going to the best team he can that PLAYS AS A FUCKING TEAM

what are you talking about

they came within 2 plays of the NBA finals after years and years of getting completely fucked by injuries

>Now granted he could've made his decision sooner as OKC is basically fucked out of other options,

dont care about this at all, it's his right as a superstar to take as much time as he pleases

>How much loyalty does the average person show on a daily basis, throughout their whole lives in fact? Yet athletes are held to this bullshit standard they have to stay with one team their whole career

this isn't about loyalty anon, it would've been fine if he left for boston or the clippers or even san antonio. but he (a MVP 3 years ago and 2nd or 3rd best player in the league) left a REALLY good situation to join the reigning MVP and 73 win team who won a title very recently.

No matter what flavor you put on it it's the most beta and bitch move ever made in the NBA and more importantly he single handedly ruined the western conference. What was once an awesomely competitive gauntlet has now become a walkover for the warriors.

fuck kevin durant
>>
>>69246081
It's because he choked when it mattered and pussied out because of it, so he decided to join the team that beat him, which just happened to be the best team in the league.

Why did he do this? Because he's too weak to inspire and help push his team to achieve that ring. He left a team that was built around him and his teammate Westbrook, a team that is a championship contender when the two are healthy, a team that he could be the leader of.

Kevin Durant likes to cry about how he's tired of coming in second place, or being the second guy to someone else all the time. Do you know what he did though? He just signed with a team where he won't be the first option, he won't be the second option, he'll be the third option because he's merely taking over Harrison Barnes' role.

When you look at Golden State at the start of the next season, you're going to see the two time MVP who disappears in big situations, you're going to see the actual life of the Warriors who hardly gets any credit, you're going to see the guy who can't stop touching people's junk, you're going to see the guy who won the 2015 Finals MVP for letting Lebron average almost a triple-double, and then you're going to see Kevin Durant.

The guy who couldn't take his own inability to inspire his team to win, so he decided to fuck off to the best team in the league so he could take the easiest road possible to the finals, even easier than Lebron's path through the east, just so he could get that ring he couldn't get with the Thunder because he was too much of a bitch to be a leader and the inspiration a team needs to make it through the playoffs and finals.
