Hi /sp boxing fans any of you are fans of the 40's boxing scene???
Also, did you know the black murderers row??
The most avoided group of talented fighters in the history of boxing alongside the Langfords, Jeanettes, Barbados Joe Walcotts.
Add to that names the 2 fortunate guys that in the end get their opportunity to fight for and win a championship, Mr. Archie Moore & Mr. Ezzard Charles.
If you want to know more about i leave this interesting reads for you...
I don't know much but want to learn more. Can you tell me more about the role of black fighters and how they were perceived in relation to their status in society?

good thread Mexanon. I love learning about the non-meme days of boxing.

Thanks Americanon (lol), i belive that the mid 30's to the mid 50's was the apex of the sport, the techniques were more advnced back then, you really have to know how to control the range and distance in both offense and defense, also you didnt have todays golves that compared with yesterdays horehir gloves are like pillows.
Also the amateur system really messed up the development of technique in a fighter since you need to mainly throw and land a more punches than the opponent to win.
Bumping for people that are interested to read...
/asp/ was literally made for threads like these but now thanks to faggots on here whining about one general that board has been ruined.
