Brazil did before 7-1. You can see that the complete collapse of their country stemmed from that loss.

Now, it is probably Iceland.

No. They stopped bandwagoning because Brazil was famous for the "joga bonito", which is only a distant memory this days.
Excluding Neymar, Coutinho and Willian the few great brazilian players are all in their 30's and the rest are just who's from serie a, chinese league and sub par european clubs.
CBF needs to rethink the whole football. Sacking and hiring managers does nothing. That's not the problem.

Hues gather around pubs to watch games. Or watch it at homes. Still, it's very important to them, the same with argies. Fútbol is the main topic for the average man living in cities (or semi civilized large gatherings of population).

Mexicans on the other hand, are uber good goyim filling stadiums as if Augustus will be giving away bread and coins.

Now Uruguayans, they just went full retard. It's fútbol or nothing for them. And they are dead poor in infrastructure. Literally, they have nothing else to do.

desu I think we are. Almost everyone likes or plays football. I didn't really care about football until the 2014 worldcup, but now I started following my team closely. I have realised that now how important football is for our society. You can talk about football with literally anyone for hours, because football is an important part of everyone's lives here(heck, even for some women), If you don't like football it'll be much harder to make friends.
>>
>>68861283
You literally have it backwards. If anyone from the western or southern hemisphere calls it football, they're the ones trying to fit in with the big strong Europeans. American English should be more relevant to you than British english
>>
USA of course ;)
>>
definitely uruguay, to be honest, my family
>>
>>68860691
Probably the US. We act like we don't care, but that's only out of pride. Soccer is secretly our greatest passion and kids are secretly trained from birth to be the best. All the other sports we play are just a cover to make it seem like we're uninterested in soccer. There was literally a mass suicide down the street from me when the US lost to Argentina. One day we will be able to let our secret passion be known to the world with joy I hope

Don't know how are things now, but not so long ago Santiago Wanderers had a huge fan base. Not just your average hothead, but complete families. In fact, most people would root for a big team because they liked them (Colo, la U) and also would follow Santiago Wanderers because their granfathers took them as kids to see the matches. The same with Santiago Morning, Naval, Fernandez Vial, etc. Probably works that way also in other parts of South America.

Brazil doesn't love football. The average brazilian likes football for memes/banter/small talk. The average attendance in our league is embarassing. Flamengo claims to have 30mi supporters (lmao) yet their attendance avg last year was 12.663 people. Most of the ultra's chants were copied from the argentinians, the portuguese, the turks, the greeks, etc.
>>
I would say Italy and England are the countries where you speak most about football in the pubs/restaraunt/bar; where everywhere you find football journal and so on, even thought England generally follow a lot of rugby and other sports aswell while in Italy football is the only core topic. Probably followed by germany and spain.
>>
>>68871273
>while in Italy football is the only core topic
then why don't you go to the matches, luigi
>>
It's England. Not even a question.
>>
>>68871294
Main reasons are shitty stadiums, no public trasportations in the main cities to the stadium unlike germany, france, england and spain, price/quality ratio and so on. Also a lot of italians genuinely like more to watch matches from the couch with a pizza and so no.
I myself having watched games in above mentioned countries cannot stand the stress which cause going to the stadium here, like in Rome.

>>

Lol no. It's the NT hype. Nobody gives a shit about fútbol. You ask 10 people about their favorite team, and they will all give you an answer, but 9 of them won't be able to give the name of more than 3 actual players. People stopped going to the stadiums years ago, and new generations know more about barcelona, arsenal or whatever big team than the national tournament.

>how many people attend the games is any kind of indicator how much the sport is loved

gibraltar.

they have their own league, with TWO division, yet they are barely 30000 people.

my city is 30000, we have maybe three teams.
>>
Even tho croatian football is not anymore on our television, pretty much everyboy watches football when it comes to major tournaments, world cups, champions league, european cups....and dinamo and hajduka are very popular also. so im' pretty sure we are somewhere around the top of the list. dinamo fans are boycoting their club but on hajduk vs rijeka let's say matches, or hajduk vs osijek the stadiums are full
>>
>>68860721
You wish. Most people here barely follow their teams and just comment on it as a banter topic every sunday.

We definitely care more than England, Germany and Italy. I'd honestly say we probably care most out of all European countries.

I've always felt like it's more important in England and Argentina than anywhere else in the world. It's a cliche at this point, but it's like a religion to them. Not that it isn't adored in other countries but those two stand out.
>>
Why do people keep saying England? Lot of people there watch rugby, cricket or darts

It's the scousers and scots who love football

Was about to post this picture. Percentage of population usually favours very small nations, so disregarding those (Faroes, Iceland etc) it seems that England and Scotland are on a level of their own

those who have integrated the sport to their national identity and culture and have won world titles.
Germany for example (the 1954 title boosted their self-respect after ww2), Italy, England, Spain, Brazil and Argentina. As for Uruguay, yeah we went full retard and all our national epic is built around it instead of actual battles and wars.

First of all, gremio and corinthians. More like São Paulo and Flamengo. Fuck, this is pure shit. Second of all, brazilians don't like football, they like to win, that's it. That's why flamengo's attendance avg in 2009 was 45k and last years barely 15k. Some teams are more than others, like Cruzeiro and São Paulo fans who just go to the stadium to see there team win and don't support at all. The only true fanatic supporters in Brazil are Palmeiras, Corinthians, and Santa Cruz fans. Flamengo, Vasco, Grêmio, Atlético MG, and Inter fans are fanatic, but not as much as those guys.
>>
>>68871684
>>68871518
>>68871181
>>68866468

If brazil was as good in basketball as it is in football, we would be filling gyms and arenas with fans. But the only team who represents in basketball is flamengo, and fills their games. Why? Cause they win everything. Same thing with Cruzeiro and gayball (volei) and Corinthians and small soccer (futsal). They only go to the stadium cause they know there teams r gonna win.
>>
>>68860691
based on percentage I have to say us
In here it's literally football or nothing as a kid. Basketball, rugby, volleyball and things like that are tiny compared to football.
Since you're 5 you get to your family's traditional club baby football, and if you're not a beta soft cunt you keep playing in that club until the major leagues
Argies and Brazilians love football as well but I think they have more variety (as in they're more populated, so secondary sports are pretty popular as well)
