We needed to win this game by a +4 goal differential to qualify for ro16 in europa league.
Understand that the team was disappointing every year since i started really rooting for them in 2006. We were fighting to stay in ligue1 and people in my class were making fun of me every monday because we lost.

When I was a sophomore in high school (16 years old for any euros unaware) our football team, who competed in the highest division in our state, was undefeated and won homefield advantage over all other opponents during the 5 game playoff brackets.
During the Quarter and Semi final games we played against the #2 and #1 teams in the state, in that order. They were from the big city and were basically nig schools with just enough whites to have good QBs and O-Linemen, so everyone in the state thought we had no chance. We had 1 D-1 recruit on our team compared to at least 5 for both of those teams. We should've been slaughtered. But in both games we pulled miracle upsets in the 3rd-4th quarters, with bizarre interceptions and defensive efforts that we really shouldn't have been able to pull off. We have an ~7k stadium capacity but for the semi finals we must've had at least 14k people there, it was an amazing crowd. Singing our fight songs and celebrating with the other students on those cold nights was better than anything else I've ever experienced.
I'd say the state championship was the best, and don't get me wrong it was fun to stomp the entitled shits who bothered to show up, but the quarter and semi finals were just amazing. I go to the University of Alabama now (those games actually instilled in me a love for Football which influenced my decision) but they still rank higher than how I've felt at any of the UA games I've experienced.

I have never been happy about sports. The 49ers won the title in 1995 but I was barely 3 years old and don't remember it. The A's have gotten far a number of times but always lose. Bulls haven't even gone to the Finals since I became a fan of them

I've been a fan my entire life, my first feeling of real disappointment was when Hasselbeck said we want the ball and we're gonna score! Then threw the game winning touchdown pass...to the wrong team. Then a few years later the biggest game of refball occurred and we lost SB 40 to Rapeburger.
Then some years of good but not great football occurred, I mean it's better than not making the playoffs at all right? Nah, then Carrol was hired and things started turning around. My favorite running back to watch in college came to my favorite team. Marshawn went beast mode and put the team on his back.
Anyway when the Seahawks won SB 49 it felt amazing. To be a part of that as a fan was incredible.

In Highschool track and field i went from middle of the pack runner who never went to the point scoring meets to varsity athelete my junior year.
I dont know what the fuck changed but during a two mile race i just fucking took off and left everybody in the dust improving my time by two fucking minutes and being bumped up to run with the top tier of our team.
