Around noon, I was in here asking stuff about MLS and what I need to know about it.
Saw some Youtube videos since then, read some Wikipedia articles and now I'm here again.
I saw something about the Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders and their respective fans.
So what can I say? On one hand, they looked like hipsters, faggots and antifas who just want to be like Europe. It seems so forced.
However, on the other hand, it felt like some genuine clubs are starting to develop. You still have to find your very own style and way of American soccer and how to be an American fan - but you're on a good way.
It was nice to see, keep up the good work, but I guess you still need some time.
Seeing some goals scored in your retirement league was wierd though, some of them would have never been scored that way over here, but that's nothing bad, just wierd to see.

I don't really follow hockey, but that was even news to me. I followed the Houston Aeros for about five minutes, when they existed, I knew all this about baseball and had no idea players got promoted/relegated between the NHL and AHL.

That and the comfyness is the appeal for AHL and MiLB. When my family lived in Chicago, my parents would take us to Wolves games all the time, me and my brothers would have a great time and we were 3-10 years old so it's not like we cared if we were watching a lower league or not.

We barely acknowledge the existence of soccer in US.
Brazilians that like basketball watch NBA whenever possible. But we have zero interest in baseball, american football or hockey. The ones that like swimming knows that US is competitive in that - the goes for other olympic modalities.
We just assume that americans mostly have their own categories of sports, which are not that much popular abroad except for Canada (Hockey) and Japan (Baseball).
Everybody over here knows that Pelé unsuccessfully tried to promote soccer in the US by the end of his
career, though. That's why we all think that Kaká is going through an end of career too.

Certainly there are american scouts here, we have scouts from all over the world actually. But our most expensive players/coaches goes to european clubs, average ones goes to some arab, chinese or russian club. I've never heard of americans buying any other player beyond Kaká.
I've watched some matches from MLS and despite not understanding how the structure of the league is I was pretty satisfied with the infrastructure that you guys have. It's more than enough to develop a team of the highest level.
I was also dumbfounded to discover that Leo Moura was borrowed to the Strikers for a few matches last year. He's a pretty decent player in our national league, having played in many [really really really] important clubs.
