Brazil v Germany was on Brazilian turf, during the semi-finals of the World Cup (i.e. the biggest stage in international football) with Brazil being the country with arguably the richest football history in the world.
Mexico v Chile was held in a country that doesn't give a shit about football, during some meme tournament with Mexico being some irrelevant country whose only notable accomplishment is being the only half-decent team in their confederation.

That World Cup match, you know, I think that really changed something in Brazil, it broke the heart of an entire generation, and not only that, the whole world saw it happen live on TV.
