You'd have to be high to take anyone other than AM with the 1OA pick, and this is doubly true for Toronto. He compares to a more offensive Kopitar and will be the first true number 1 C the leafs will have had since Sundin. A perfect, big/skilled complement to the leafs current size issue with Mitch "lil boy" Marner. Though Marner has incredible skill the guy needs size either on his body or on his line to create space for him to make magic.
I still remember watching the NHL draft lottery on TV after the 2005 lockout ended, as one of the few (at the time) Pens fans in the city (the Steelers were kicking ass around that time) it was all I had to root for, as the team absolutely sucked. Whenever we won it I started screaming like we won the Cup, I knew how pathetic it was but I didn't care.

Edmonton:
Use 4th overall as trade chip - make calls on guys who seem to be available like Subban, Trouba, Lindholm, Barrie in order of preference. Maybe someone who no one knows is available a la Hamilton. Move RNH for another top-4 defender (ideally RHD). If no one bites then try dangling Draisaitl instead. Worst case scenario, go to FA and try to sign Demers.
In any case, top priority for the offseason is adding at the very least two legitimate top-4 defenders, ideally right-handed (though beggars can't be choosers). Beyond that, could use some help on the wings in the bottom of the lineup. Better not to be icing players like Corpseikoski if you want to be competitive.
Toronto:
Also a big need for right handed defenders. Would make calls on similar guys as mentioned above, using trade bait including JVR, Nylander, picks #30, 31 as well other prospects. Check the cost on a guy like Andersen, while also inquiring on other young guys like Pickard, Korpisalo, and Grubauer who are blocked by guys with big contracts. Top two priorities for the offseason would be acquiring a quality RHD and young goalie with potential. In addition, could also see what might be wrangled out at the draft with those 12 picks, there may be teams with fewer picks willing to take picks+prospect package in exchange for players in positions they have excess, contract issues etc.
