Americans are overreacting all across the /sp/ with their piddling accident of reaching the copa's semifinals, even claiming to be better than Brazil, Argentina and England. I wouldn't even address them if they didn't make the country with majority presence in the board, but, anyways... I just want to remind'em a few things:
1. The importance of this tournament for the US is to slowly gain altitude in the world of football. Therefore, everything they can reach will be the highest point of their history. But for the old champions, most of us have great club level championships at home where we can exercise our qualities. So the copa america doesn't even fit that need for us once you have so much weak teams like Peru, Usa, Ecuador, Venezuela... A defeat on these tournaments only turns on lights of warning about something going wrong.

It's not a matter of past, it means there is a strong football culture in those countries that could grow in an elite nation that wins WC.

Ever notice how the only people who go to US soccer games are either Latino or beta nu-males? The folks of Mexican decent I get, honestly. It's big in Central America, and most Mexican-Americans I know who are into soccer seem genuine. They love the game.
But the fucking nu-males, man. I just don't get it. These are the same folks who used to scoff at athletes in high school. The type who say "Yay sportsball" to act witty. And what I don't get is this: they all fucking hate America. So why do they paint their faces with the American Flag and shout out USA USA all match? It just doesn't add up.
